The best restaurants serving Default food in Dolgellau North Gwynedd North Wales

Excellent Sunday roasts, including Welsh lamb, which not all places can manage. The dining areas were bright and not cramped. Parking nearby can be limited, but the short walk to the riverside is worth it. Staff were friendly and efficient. We noticed a young new waitress was well supervised and supported by a colleague. That's good to see.

Couldn’t have been cosier, caught my eye on the way past & very glad I stopped in. Service was great, extremely accommodating and did me an early dinner in the bar so I could hike to my overnight stop. Talked me through the beer selection & made me feel at home. Lovely atmosphere & perfect hospitality. The host (I didn’t catch his name) chatted with us & it made for a great atmosphere of all tables in the bar. Would happily stay & it’s a fantastic location for mountain walks. Food was delicious & very reasonably priced (I forgot to leave a service charge & feel very guilty, couldn’t have been more deserving - please drop by and have a drink on my behalf)!! I’ll be back :)

Lovely building & staff but waiting 25mins for tea then 45mins for breakfast, beans stone cold & rest of food warm

Best Indian food I've had in a long time, hands down. Staff were courteous and service great (takeaway). I had onion bhajis that were the best I've ever had, beef Naga that was perfectly seasoned and spiced. The meat was melt in the mouth. I WILL be going here again. Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed, guaranteed. Update...went back for 2nd takeaway day after and food and service could not be faulted. Outstanding.

I visited this place several years ago with my daughter who was 8 at the time. The owner asked what she was dong at school. She mention that she was learn ing the cello. He produced a violin which he said he had recently acquired at a jumble sale and gave it her to try. She could not play it so he asked if she minded if he tried. What happened then I will never forget. He played that violin to concert violinist standards, absolutely amazing. The food is great but the violin playing is just superb. I hear it is closed temporarily as he has had a hip operation. I wish him a full recovery and my sincere thanks for what he did on the very special visit all those years ago!

Horrible atmosphere and unfriendly staff. I didn't eat anything so I won't comment on food but I walked in and asked if it's possible to make a vegetarian wrap as there's no veg option. Been very rudely told NO. If I were you I'd go somewhere else. In fact we tried almost all the food in this village, if you can. Do not stop, just drive straight past to a different town/city

We returned here after a couple of years and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed the local ale and then a delicious Sunday lunch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We arrived an hour before our booking but were seated in no time. It is great to see people bringing their dogs in, dog treats were available on the bar along with special dog dinners!! Fantastic.

Vfm food, OK but not fantastic. No parking nearby so we hung around on a street whilst I went for the food. Free parking after 6pm but still no free official spaces! Dolgellau needs a good car park. Roads are narrow, with a one way system, and often very steep! The takeaway is very dated but you work with what you can afford-think it's stuck in the 70's and 80's with wood panelling on the walls. The lady who served me was polite and was served very quickly. There's no delivery service, and no Deliveroo Just eat etc. A gap in the market maybe?! Will go there again.

Decent Starbucks as far as they go, the staff were very friendly, and Welsh speaking which is always a plus. The drinks were served quickly and were well made. Only downside is the Starbucks prices but that’s not the fault of this one in particular
