I visited this place several years ago with my daughter who was 8 at the time. The owner asked what she was dong at school. She mention that she was learn ing the cello. He produced a violin which he said he had recently acquired at a jumble sale and gave it her to try. She could not play it so he asked if she minded if he tried. What happened then I will never forget. He played that violin to concert violinist standards, absolutely amazing. The food is great but the violin playing is just superb. I hear it is closed temporarily as he has had a hip operation. I wish him a full recovery and my sincere thanks for what he did on the very special visit all those years ago!

Faultless service, ordered 2 large pizzas which were ready at the agreed time. The pizzas were delicious and had generous toppings. The only let down was the pizza base, sadly not homemade and tasted like a cheap supermarket offering. Surely for a takeaway who’s menu mostly consists of a pizza selection a homemade base isn’t a big ask and would certainly make a big difference.

Was staying down the road at Shell Island and fancied a take away instead of the burgers and sausages, when we phoned the order we found them very helpful and thorough and they allocated us a collection slot, when we got the food back to camp we were not disappointed, it was all very fresh and cooked to perfection, will definitely come back when we are next down this way.

We’ve been coming here for years as the food is incredible. You can really tell how fresh it is and how much care they put into it. We'd been recommended Tony's as a place that caters well for coeliacs so visted on our first day of holiday. We were so impressed that we visted twice more during our five day stay. Not only is the food (both pizza and pasta) extremely good, but their gluten free options allowed our daughter to have more choice than she's been used to in a long time. Whether you have specific dietry requirements or not, I totally recommend Tony's as a must-try venue. https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g552015-d3417320-r801792594-Tony_s_Takeaway-Talybont_Barmouth_Gwynedd_North_Wales_Wales.html#

Thursday 22nd July 2021. This was our second visit in 3 days and the food was as amazing as ever. Spaghetti Alfredo, Spaghetti Bolognese, Pasta Pesto & 2 Garlic Breads. The service was spot on and very friendly. The food yet again was as good as I have tasted. Don’t worry about the waiting time when you order (1 h 15m) there is a reason for this. Fantastic flavours and food you will come back to time and time again. A real hidden gem on the West Wales coast. Well done Tony’s.

Just had a takeout pizza from Tony’s. Freshly cooked and really delicious. Loads of choice on the menu including vegan options and catering for allergies. I had vegan cheese on mine due to a dairy allergy and it was lovely. Couldn’t resist the vegan chocolate fudge cake afterwards....what a treat. Partner had the tiramisu. Both puds were huge and delicious! Due to COVID restrictions at the moment you need to ring ahead to place an order and you get a five minute time slot to collect. Best to check the website for any updates. Well worth it, highly recommend.

Ordered four pizzas and was given a time slot to collect, was barked at through the window for being five minutes early and ordered off the premises, the pizza base is shocking and tasted like cheap supermarket ready made ones, and the toppings were very average quality, garlic bread is a small baguette with garlic butter which was ok. I (wrongly) assumed it would be an authentic Italian place but it’s definitely not that, we were congratulated on being able to get through on the phone as they were having difficulties, wish I’d not managed to get through now! I would love to leave a review having been to Tony's for a number of years but on my recent visit I couldn't even place an order!COVID-19 has meant that a lot of businesses have had to review their procedures and fair play to Tony's they have done the same - you can no longer turn up to place an order you MUST ring to place it and turn up at your allocated time to collect. We had just come off the beach and decided on a pizza from Tony's so rang at their opening time - number busy, we tried and tried (ringing every 15 seconds for 45 minutes) and every time it was engaged - I cannot believe that the line was constantly busy and seemed as though they had left the phone off the hook!!! In the end we gave up and spent our money elsewhere.Tony's have got an outdoor catering van and I am sure they could use this whilst still maintaining social distancing - if they rely on phone orders I expect they will be sorely disappointed!

We ordered two pizzas, the pasta Alfredo and the Tiramisu. Firstly all of the hot food was barely warm, but we were hungry so didn’t really mind.More significantly, the pasta was utterly grotesque! Overcooked to the point of wobbling like jelly and the “Alfredo” sauce, bland, watery and unseasoned. For £8, this is criminal. I have eaten better quality ready meals. I’m afraid it went in the bin and i stir-fried some courgettes in garlic butter instead. The pizzas were okay- standard 7” Margarita for my 5 year old was eaten, but the Cacciatore or “Huntsman” was sweet to the point of toothache. The Tiramisu was mostly whipped cream and lacked the depth of coffee flavour you would expect. All in all, even for a small seaside town, this place is depressingly awful.

Well, here we are again in Tal-y-Bont our favourite place and our favourite restaurant but what a shock!!!We we're all set for one of Tony's wonderful meals only to find the restaurant door boarded up, a small stark room with a high counter - a piece of wood around the walls posing as a bench and a quite obnoxious man trying to sell us "authentic" pizzas. We asked about Tony only to be told "he's still here and now we are serving food from here" We ordered 3 pizzas and some spicy chicken and then went for a well deserved drink at the Ysgethin pub as the wait was 30mins +!!!!End result a sad evening - pizzas mediocre, chicken wings greasy and nasty, service aggressive and un-welcoming and very over priced. My advice - go to the Ysgethin and have a nice cosy drink, friendly staff and a menu that looks really good. Tony - loved your food and restaurant for over 15yrs. I guess all good things have to come to an end. My suggestion is just close up completely because this is leaving a bad taste and memory

Called in at Tony's to discover the restaurant was borded up only the takeaway pizza section in operation. The entrance was blocked up but no notice was displayed to say why.I ordered a pizza, garlic bread which is a small baguette and not a mini pizza style and wedges. It took over 25 minutes to get the order and apart from a homemade bench that goes all around the wall and is only suitable for a kid, I would recommend waiting in the car. Definitely not as good as previous years and the staff are not Italian either.

Ordered a pepperoni pizza for takeout, got home sat at the table licking my lips.... On opening the box what hit me most was not the vivid lack of Italian authenticity but the shallow puddle of grease sitting upon it. But hey ho i thought id better give it a go. We got the menu easily from Prof Google, nice selection of pizzas, pastas and sides. I thought the prices were really reasonable. We rang ahead and placed an order for collection and were told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Friends collected via car and brought back some lovely grub. I had ricotta and spinach stuffed tortellini with pesto, chicken and parmesan, and it was fantastic, big portion and big taste. I couldn't finish it all but saved it for leftovers which was still lovely. My friends pizza looked really nice, she went for the seafood option and it was nicely packed with toppings. Seriously...lighten up. No offence, but gosh... The staff were really friendly. The food was very nice and the restaurant is normal in terms of acoustics and I didn't find it noisy and awful. I've only been once and I'm seeking to write a very honest review here. Would I go back? Yes, of course. Did I see anything dirty and or unhygienic? No, I did not. Tony, who we only met last night, was a nice down-to-Earth, slightly cheeky host. Maybe it's a generation thing, but he was absolutely fine and was very friendly and just sought to be happy and pleasant with everyone. Just go and experience it for yourself. We had dinner at Tony's in Talybont recently. We really weren't looking for Italian food, but for ten people at one time, this was the best available. It turned out to be a fine choice. The restaurant was small, very Italian, and very neat and clean. The host and waiter were very efficient and cordial, even with the John Wayne joke. The food was excellent, and we tried a little bit of everything. After dinner, the chef came out and showed us the eels swimming in the little stream outside the restaurant. This was one of our better meals on a recent two week trip to the Lake District and North Wales.

Me and my friend went to Tony’s after a day out in Barmouth, we walked to the guy on the desk who was friendly but made things a little uncomfortable with his comments . We ordered our food and we expected more in the menu but was ok. We started eating our food and as we looked over to the desk the guy smoking his vape and blowing his nose! Put me straight off my food and I’d wasted most of it! I was furious at this point as I spent money there for nothing. By the end I just wanted to leave and it took longer to recive the bill than it did waiting for the food. Won’t be going back!

We finally visited Tony's after many recommendations from my brother. The food was lovely, arrived in good time and was reasonably priced. Service from the waiter was very pleasant and Tony himself was entertaining and helpful despite the tragic loss of his son and chef which he spoke openly about.

We popped in after a day in Barmouth. We were greeted by a older gentleman who was friendly. They were quick to take our order. There was a few customers waiting for takeaway but we were the only ones in restaurant. Obviously Tony was a little stressed and could hear everything said in the kitchen which made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We both had pasta. Mine was definitely not homemade which was a disappointing and was very similar to the ready meal in supermarket and the pesto was out of a jar. My husband had a seafood linguine which was average but he would eat anything. The price reflected the the quality. Definitely won’t be returning.

We visited Tony’s restaurant at 8.30pm on a Sunday evening whilst on a recent short break to Barmouth. As we had passed the restaurant on a journey to Harlech we decided to eat there as an option to the endless Pub Grub options that can be found anywhere in this area.

Every noise in the room was very loud and the owner likes to chat about smacking his kids. I left early. I'd already felt unable to have any kind of conversation with my partner because of the acoustics. And then felt like I'd stumbled into a safe space for abusers to share their stories. Gross, no thanks. Gorgeous food though and I'm very impressed by the chef's understanding of coeliac disease.

Lovely interior in the restaurant, very quaint and pleasant so I was looking forward to the meal. Unfortunately the pizzas didn't live up to expectation. Quite frankly they tasted like a frozen pizza from a supermarket. I had been hoping for freshly baked, more authentic pizza, Dominos pizza taste better! Shame as I'm sure it would be a little gold mine if the food was authentic. Friendly waitress though.

There are no other options on a Sunday night in Talybont, if you don't want to cook.

On our recent holiday to Wales, we went to Tony's because we saw their ad which said 'Coeliac Guests welcome' and, give them credit, they did have gluten free options available. That's why I've given them 1 out of 5.

We were staying just outside of Tal-y-Bont for the second week of the school spring break and had past Tony's a number of times in the car. After climbing Cader Idris on the second to last day, didn't fancy cooking so decided to give Tony's a try.

Lovely meal the steak starter is Amazing. Pizzas are good but the bases aren't as crispy as we liked, a little soggy and messy. Loved the food though and the staff are so friendly.

Would have been nice to go to if they had updated their location on maps. Drove half an hour to be greeted with a closed and empty place that hadn’t opened in months

Despite reading the reviews we wanted to give it a try. We have fussy kids but spaghetti bolognese is always a hit and a previous review mentioned this was great here. Service was absolutely fine, but maybe that's because we were the only customers albeit it being a Sunday evening. We ordered the spaghetti bolognese and two pizzas and all was disappointing especially the spaghetti. So on the contrary to what others have said here the service was quick, and fast however we were the only customers so hard to say and the food was very disappointing. Bland, watery, very little meat sauce and abundance of spaghetti. We wouldn't go back.

Had a fabulous meal here at the Villa Marina. Lovely to find somewhere nice that offers a choice of gluten free on the menu, they even had gluten free desserts, but i was too full from the main meal. Staff are lovely and very knowledgeable. Well worth a visit if you are in Caernarfon
