Villa Marina in Gwynedd

Had a fabulous meal here at the Villa Marina. Lovely to find somewhere nice that offers a choice of gluten free on the menu, they even had gluten free desserts, but i was too full from the main meal. Staff are lovely and very knowledgeable. Well worth a visit if you are in Caernarfon

Great food. Lasagne and Parmesan truffle fries are amazing. Loved the cheesecake but would love to have seen tiramisu on the menu, would Definately return again.

Staying in Caernarfon for work and was recommended this gem by a colleague who lives locally. Can't compliment it enough it was deeelish. I had lasagne and a bowl of homemade chips and I will definitely be returning this week and the next 3 weeks. Staff were attentive and pleasant.

I never usually leave reviews, but I feel particularly motivated after my experience at villa marina. My girlfriend ordered the chicken and chorizo paella and I ordered pizza. Unfortunately the chicken in the paella wasn’t right, it was crunchy chewy and rubbery. It was inedible. I told the waitress that it wasn’t right and asked if it had been cooked properly, I was told that that is how the chicken is, if it wasn’t cooked it would be pink and I should Google it. She did offer to give us another paella meal, but she said it would be the same as that is what the chicken is like. She was very defensive and unapologetic which lead us to leave it and just not eat the chicken as we did not want to get ill. They did knock £6 off the £16 charge for the paella, however I feel this is not good enough and felt compelled to write a review due to the way that the situation was handled as it made the atmosphere very awkward and ruined our meal. The pizza and wine was nice though.

Fantastic food, lovely feel to the place and staff were friendly. Represented good quality food, yummy and served really nicely. Nice menu catering for all. We didn't have a great experience food wise in Caernarfon but this proved to be the exception. Thank you

Had a wonderful meal for two the other night. Gorgeous setting. Such a lovely atmosphere and great service. The food was out of this world. So tasty, fresh, had to try every course. Seafood pasta and Vongole particularly tasty. Tiramisu and salted caramel cheesecake delicious and better than anywhere we have been to in recent times. A must to go visit.

Went here on last evening of our holiday and it was a lovely way to end the week. Good choice of dishes, pizzas were nice (per my children) and the pasta was lovely. The staff were really friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit.

4 pizza Margherita with toppings. They were similar the ones you buy from supermarket and cook. For sure are not Italian food. Moreover over priced, 4 Margherita, 2 cokes (pints) and 2 beers 59 pounds. I would not recommend it.

What a great surprise to stumble across such a diverse and creative menu in such relaxed and modern surroundings. The Asian pork and monkfish were both out of this world. Best restaurant we found in Caenarfon, congratulations to the whole team behind this venue!

GF and I went there on the basis that there were so many good reviews and we were not disappointed. This is my only review because I'm a taker, but I felt compelled to compliment the restaurant on their excellent food and drink. Chicken Roulade, tender, plentiful, delicious and even the chips were crisp yet fluffy and lightly salted - no oven/forzen stock rubbish, these were actually cut. Chicken/chorizo paella, tender meats, sweet peppers, and soft rice. Perfect!

Although there was a mishap with our booking our evening turned out a delight. The food was excellent from starters through to the desserts. Staff very efficient and friendly there was always the perfect amount of time between the courses. The local White Horse IPA went down a treat. Would certainly eat here again.

Excellent food totally authentic Italian the aroma as soon as you walk through the door !! We visited whilst on holiday with our twelve year old granddaughter and we all loved it, would have booked the following day as well but it was a Thursday and it was closed ❤️

I visited here with my mum and step dad yesterday evening. We had not booked but they were able to squeeze us in. Fast and attentive service from start to finish, all the members of staff were friendly and helpful. We all had starters and main course. The food was beautiful, all freshly cooked and a very generous portion. We were devastated to realise only the day after that we completely forgot to leave a tip, which had we remembered at the time we absolutely would have done as the service was excellent, even helping us with our Welsh. Please do pass on our apologies for this oversight. I would absolutely recommend this spot for a beautiful meal. If you in the area do pop in you won’t be disappointed.

This little restaurant is perfect across the board, service was truly excellent by warm and proffesional staff, the food was cooked to perfection on all 3 courses, especially the squid which can sometimes be tricky, the seafood paella was a little unconventional and I would not say that it conforms to a true paella - that said it was a beautiful dish in its own right, the flavours were immense yest subtle and the seafood in it was cooked to perfection, I would make a bee line for this dish any day. The desert was out of this world, chocolate brownie, heaven should be looking at this desert and taking notes. The coffee was sublime and if anything under priced, the wine suited the meal perfectly, it was delectable and a very reasonable price. The overall bill was very reasonable and expected to pay more given the quality, to summarise, do not pass this place up, it is a must if you like Mediterranean food, we categorically, will be back.

We really enjoyed our meal here. Very generous portions and very tasty indeed! We were seated upstairs with a very loud group which was no fault of the restaurant, but would have preferred to be downstairs! However, this did not detract from the delicious food. Probably a 2.5. Don’t believe the reviews. But it’s not bad. Pizza crust despite a lack of salt is ok, looks crisp but is actually chewy so don’t be deceived by the pictures. There’s something about the place that bleeds a sort of residual garlic smell deeply into your clothing so you’ll not forget your visit. It’s good value and they make an effort but it is all a bit North Wales ...needs some competition for sure, it sure isn’t a Pizza Express. As for 12th best in Caernarfon, imagine

This is our first visit to this restaurant. We tried to get in yesterday but fully booked so booked for today and we were not disappointed.From going in to book to leaving after our meals the staff were friendly and made you feel welcome and relaxed in these testing times.I had the squid for starters my wife had Goats cheese. For mains I had the Squid, King Prawns, Clams and Chorizo paella my wife had lasagna. And for dessert I had porfitarole and the food was fantastic. It is tasty full of flavour and did not last long.Would definitely recommend this place to anyone coming here but would book and not just walk in especially at weekends.Definitely come again when we back in area.

Came here for our first date 13 years ago. Wife booked it for our 5th wedding anniversary.Food was great. Calamari was great so sweet and not at all chewy as like places, wife and goats cheese which she enjoyed. I tried a bit and it was very nice.Steak was cooked to perfection. Very large piece of meat well worth the money. Wife’s pasta was good too.Staff were very polite and friendly.Won’t wait so long before we return.

Great staff, polite, friendly and even though the owner had forgotten to record our booking (which was for a 60th birthday) they still managed to accommodate us. We sat upstairs which offers a lovely view of the marina. The food came very quickly even though it was busy and it was delicious on all counts.

The food is amazing one of the best Italian restaurant’s I’ve eaten at we both really enjoyed it, the mushroom risotto was quite possibly the best I’ve had.

This is a lovely family run Italian restaurant tucked away behind the Market Square. The staff are fabulous, friendly, efficient and a good laugh. The food is amazing. Really good. Social distancing is done well to protect customers and staff. We would definitely go again if in the area. Book early though, it’s popular with good reason. ps no photo of starters, they were so delicious we tucked in quickly before I had time to take a picture!

I would have much rathered to eat in at this restaurant, but their website said they were not doing eat-in. However, when I called to make my order they said they were, but were fully booked. If I had known then I would have booked in advance. The prices here are really good value. The portions were generous, and we had leftovers. They delivered the food to the guest house we were staying at, and everything was hot. Almost everything on their menu either is gluten free or can be made gluten free. I tend to prefer a separate gluten free menu or at least each entry marked as such. I had a gluten free goat's cheese, onion marmalade and sliced prosciutto pizza, which was very good. The others, (not gluten free) had chicken and mushroom pasta, which had ok noodles but very nice chicken, spaghetti bolognese, which had great noodles, but no one liked the sauce, and cheesy garlic bread, which was the highlight - basically a small, cheesy pizza. All of us ate for £34 so the prices are very reasonable. The fact that they cater for gluten free is great. Everyone was split on the food, but it is worth a try.

We had a lovely meal here. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful whilst taking all the necessary COVID precautions. Three of us had pizzas - two children's and one adult and my wife had the ravioli of the day. The pizzas were generous in terms of portion size and toppings and tasted fresh and delicious. The pasta was also well cooked and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend this place to families wanting simple tasty food in a welcoming, well run restaurant.

Called in at 5.45 without having a reservation. They managed to fit us in, the four of us. We ate off the normal menu, Pizzas, bolognaise and risotto. The food was brilliant, fast service and nice people. This is a little gem!! Nice decor. Cosy. Prices are fair, we don't mind paying for great food. Thanks for fitting us in.

So, a visit here last night with a friend. A lovely welcome from the staff who were attentive but not overpowering but neither were we ignored. I had the garlic mushrooms for a starter and my friend had the goats cheese. Both were really nice and went down a treat. For our main we both chose the pulled pork salad and all I can say is WOW ! The salad was lovely and fresh and the pulled pork and potatoes were absolutely delicious with a generous portion. If you’re in Caernarfon and can get a table please call in. Visited with work for Christmas dinner. Tables were up the stairs. Nice setting , but boy those chairs are uncomfortable. Like sitting in a chapel. Candles on the table were unlit, and didn’t create a nice ambience. First Waitress came up and it would have been nice to receive a smile but hey ho, the others were polite snd smiled. Food was ok, nothing spectacular and ive had nicer. Garlic mushrooms were nice, but the turkey dinner a bit basic. Sprouts were rock hard and many of us left them(we were a very large group). Cheesecake was nice. All in all, I can’t see myself visiting again.

We visited on a Friday evening as were staying in the area. Having looked on trip adviser for a good local restaurant we opted for Villa Marina from the great reviews and good menu. We booked a table in advance via email with no problem. It’s a cosy restaurant and nicely presented. The young lady who greeted and served us on Fri 11th Oct was lovely as professional, warm and efficient. We both had starters and main courses which were delicious. The mushroom ravioli special fab. Well priced too. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and hope to be back when next in the area, it’s top of our list for next time.
