Good Mood in Gwynedd

This is a great find. The location is amazing right on the harbor. The inside is very nice and clean. The staff were very friendly. Sat and chatted with the owner, very interesting. The food was great! Would highly recommend eating and drinking in this restaurant. Excellent!

Decided to give the place a try while out for the day and so glad we did. Its only quite a small place with a fairly limited menu compared to some places however the food was absolutely spot on. Very flavoursome. Service was good friendly fast and spot on. All in all great place so glad we went in and would definitely go back

Food varied from dish to dish but most was very good. Place was a little crowded and suffered for it.

Booked this lovely restaurant situated on the harbour at Porthmadog, next to the Yacht Club. Would recommend you book to get a table. Friendly staff greeted us on the second doorway after entering through the Yacht club doorway. (entrance way could be improved, odd chairs etc as you come in?) but lovely food smells ! We chose the recommended burgers which were great and very tasty.Good selection on the menu as well as drinks. Nice outside area which would be great in the summer. Reasonably priced too.

Fantastic food and service and very dog friendly. Would definitely recommend and next time we are in the area, we will be back.

Really lovely service, good food and great price! We arrived early for dinner, and it was just us to begin with, but by the end, it was lively and obviously quite popular. I was very happy with both ends of the spectrum, as the servers stayed attentive and friendly throughout, and we didn't feel awkward when the only ones in, nor did we feel like we'd outstayed our welcome when it became busy. It was a little odd trying to get in, as I think it is part of the yacht clubhouse, but we trusted the signs and it was quite easy to get in. Overall, very positive - I would recommend and go again!

For me, the ambience in a restaurant is equally important as the food. Gentle music at just the right volume, and the staff are a dream to be served by. ..nothing worse than miserable staff 🤣.

Fabulous muscles and friendly service

My boyfriend and I had dinner on Valentine's day. We really enjoyed our night. Delicious food and good service. The lady has been really nice to ud and welcoming. Good ambience and valentine's decors. We had a prosecco glass on the arrival and I got a rose at the end of the night. That made me feel heart warmed. Thank you. :)

What a fabulous night at Good Mood. My husband and I went for our Valentines meal and the whole experience certainly didn’t disappoint. To begin with we were greeted by the friendly staff with the warmest of welcomes which was just perfect. A Prava and a glass of Prosecco to follow whilst we looked through the exciting menu. With a range of choices, we were spoilt! We just wanted to have everything as it all sounded amazing. Chicken wings of the day, Pork & Beef meat balls to start that just made your mouth water. The wings literally fell off the bone and the meatballs were just bursting with flavor. Accompanied by some warm, crisp bread to dip in the tomato & garlic sauce…. Still thinking about this sauce now! Mains! The steak, cooked to perfection! The most creamiest peppercorn sauce with gratin potatoes was just Fabulous. The Spezzatino was perfect. Packed with flavour and the beef just melted in my mouth, again, accompanied by the crisp warm bread I mopped up all the sauce. Our plates went back CLEAN! Desert was different but very enjoyable. Off the Valentines menu, we shared a lovers pizza. Nutella and banana on a sweet base was just the perfect way to end a perfect night. All in all I would 100% recommend anyone to try Good Mood. We looked at other couples foods, the pizzas, the burgers, the pastas, you are definitely spoilt for choice! I nearly even asked a couple next to us if I could have a slice of pizza as it just looked so irresistible! Can’t wait to go back and try EVERYTHING! Thank you to all the staff, especially Charlotte for making our Valentines meal one to remember.

Excellent evening with family. As there were 8 of us we were asked to pre-order and this was easy to do. Arrived and had drinks before all of our food arrived. Mixture of pizza, pasta and burgers ordered and everyone enjoyed their meal. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We came last Saturday! Lovely little restaurant, very friendly staff and even better food. We went for burgers, and wow! They were tasty and worth every penny!! We will definitely stop again next time we are visiting Porthmadog.

We dined here last night with my mum, partner and two children. The staff were extremely welcoming, the food was delicious and the service was fast and efficient. They were so chatty and friendly, unfortunately we don't live nearby and were only visiting whilst in Wales but if we ever were to return we would definitely go back!

This was a disappointing experience for my 1st visit here but could and so should have been so easily avoided. The place itself is very pleasant and the atmosphere on a saturday night was good. Had Calamari to start with which was fine. Ordered seafood linguine but was told they had run out of mussels so they would give me more prawns which I said was fine. However when the meal came, not only was there no extra prawns, there were no prawns at all!!!! in fact the only fish in the dish was 3 calamari rings. I pointed this out to the lady who apologised saying they had also run out of prawns as well as mussels!!! How does this happen at 7:30 on a saturday night? Anyway she offered to take it off the bill but this was not the point. They should have been up front before cooking and presenting me with essentially a bowl of pasta. My friend also ordered a main course but they eventually came back and advised that they had also run out of that so he had a burger, which did look good. As stated it's a good place but this spoiled the evening and didn't stay for desserts.

Staying in Porthmadog, came across the restaurant Good Mood, food was lovely cooked Spagetti carbonara I had with king prawns was very tasty with a glass of processco made my evening.. Bergers looked inviting, followed by a light pudding if you have room, :) waiters very pleasant and with other guest atmosphere was relaxed, so pop in if passing, you won't be dissapointed.... 😀

Went to the good mood in the old bank. Lovely food would definitely recommend the fajitas. Walked in off the streets no need to book.

Visited while on holiday in north wales. Food was delicious. The atmosphere is uncomfortable and the manager is rude. Shame since the food is really nice but we couldn’t wait to finish our meals and leave.

The food was fantastic here, great portion sizes and a gluten free option for my partner. The burger was so nice and I will be going back next time in Porthmadog. The service was excellent and very friendly. I would recommend visiting.

A lovely visit to this restaurant, there were 7 of us and we all ordered different dishes. The manager was lovely and worked hard trying to please everyone even though the restaurant was full. The only fault was the toilet situation- only one. We would still return.

Lovely restaurant, great service and good food. The chef ran out of mushrooms after our order was taken so went out to get some more. We couldn't ask for more so definitely would recommend 👌

Really happy with the meal - 5 adults and a toddler eating an early dinner. Staff were friendly and helpful, a fussy eater in the group asked for details on a meal and they made the effort to go find out how it was made. Had a broad selection of dishes across the group; Smash burgers are really worth a look, very well done and hold together well Pizza was amazing, really good dough and well made Pasta portion was enormous! And the meatballs were amazing Italian beef stew (don’t ask spelling…) was spectacular. Kids meal was a good size and sensibly put together, I guess as a parent I would’ve liked some veg?

Food is good quality, priced for a seasonal market

This is a review of the good mood lounge in the old bank building in the high street. Very disappointing. The pizzas were very basic and expensive. The starters poor. Sorry we won’t be coming back. We are local and like to support local businesses.

I had the Greek Pizza and my husband had a burger (I can’t remember which one, sorry!). The food was delicious! Portions are very big and great value. Service was excellent, all the staff very friendly and polite. I highly recommend.

Our original reservation was for 7pm but with a quick call they were happy to fit us in an hour earlier. A busy place but quite small so definitely book a table. There were tables outside with a view of the marina but on a wet Sunday night these weren't an option. A good range of cocktails on offer and our Burgers and Pasta main courses were excellent .Friendly and efficient staff. We had a lovely evening.

Fantastic restaurant and food! “Good Mood” is a refreshing addition to the restaurant options within Porthmadog and offers a great location on the harbour.. Even better, their sister venue “Good Mood Lounge” on Porthmadog high street is a welcome addition too. Having eaten at both establishments- both offer great food and ambience. There is no compromise on quality and standard of food at either place. Highly recommend Good Mood and Good Mood Lounge.

We had the pizza with deep fried capers and tuna. Never thought about frying capers before. Service was okay but had to ask three times for the half of lager to be served. Waitresses conversation about being invited to spank MP’s during Covid at her friends B&B a little strange. But it would not stop me going back……

It's a wonderful location, just at the marina & off the busy strip. Lots of choice in both food & drink & service was very good & quick,with both waitresses asking if we were happy

We chose Good Mood Restaurant as the place to have a good meal after 5 days hiking and wild camping - it did not disappoint. Food and drinks were great, and service was amazing. The pilsner on tap was especially good, and I recommend the Green Monster Burger for a vegetarian option.

Visited Porthmadog for a short weekend trip and came here on our first evening for dinner. Staff were generally friendly but the other diners that were already there seemed to me like snobs and just stared at us with stone cold faces whilst we were waiting at the door to be served, which made me feel really uncomfortable. Food was really expensive for what it was.

Was advised to visit here from a past diner , ordered several different dishes that arrived very quickly , to quick to have been freshly cooked , mussels were lovely , meatballs were quite tasteless , pasta didn't taste freshly cooked , shame as a year ago I was told things were better

What a brilliant place, got us in at the last minute, The burger was the best burger I have ever eaten. Staff were brilliant, didn't feel rushed to eat, kept the drinks flowing. It was full but didn't seem packed. Just a great place to go. 100% recommend.

Great little spot on the harbour

It’s taken 3 days but finally found some where great to eat with nice coffee!! The food was awesome = 3 happy children = happy mum and dad. Would be back for dinner for sure! Thank you guys

A fab meal last night with hubby. We will definitely recommend and visit again. Luckily don't live far.

Food was lovely, the pizzas we had were great. My partner is vegan, and she really enjoyed her pizza. It was hard to find places that could cater for her in the area, but this place was happy to accommodate. The service was good, the staff were friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable, too. All in all, we were very happy with our experience, and left in a good mood!

Excellent handmade pizza's served on the dockside. Just watch out for the seagulls!

Great ambiance and food. Limited menu with many daily specials. Thoroughly enjoyed the wine and food. An international meal in terms of flavour and presentation and not pub grub. Busy and reservations recommended.

Had a lovely meal here on 23rd July. We were lucky as it was a sunny day and evening so we were able to sit outside overlooking the harbour . We sat out until 10pm it was really lovely Food was excellent, the burger was really delicious Good friendly service too If I was to give any feedback it was to have some cushions on the benches outside

Good mood, good food!!! My family and I had read good reviews about this restaurant and decided to pay it a visit during our holiday. Needless to say, it was a fantastic experience, the food was absolutely delicious, the portions were massive, the staff were lovely and the atmosphere was extremely chilled and pleasant. I highly recommend Good Mood to anyone and everyone.

Absolutely delicious meal. We sat inside, nice vibe, seen to right away! The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a rosé wine and a spiced rum with Pepsi - both really tasty. For food we had the Greek pizza (super flavourful, cheesy and delicious) and the Oklahoma burger (fire thin fries and juicy burger). They were both really delicious meals, the portion size was bang on. Didn’t feel stuffed like we tend to usually. Even ordered a dessert, the caramel and white chocolate cheesecake, that was stunning. Not sickly, just perfect to end the meal. Ordered two more drinks and our total was £69. Not a cheap meal for two but definitely worth it, really delicious food that I’d 100% come back for if I’m in the area again!!!! Thank you for a lovely dinner.

Such a beautiful setting with tables outside looking over the port. The waitress was brilliant with my huge chaotic family (all 13 of us - 3 kids & 2 babies) and food and drinks were quick to come out. My aunty said the burger “was the best” she’d ever had! The only negative was sitting on hard picnic benches which my elderly grandad struggled with. But still absolutely worth visiting!

We are in Porthmadog for a week's holiday, and tonight is our second meal here. We love the relaxed atmosphere and the great food - choose from pasta, pizza and burgers. Tonight I had an amazing Italian beef stew, and others choose a gourmet burger from the specials board. We could bring our dog and he got a treat too. Staff are attentive but not intrusive. Make this one of your choices, if you visit.

A good place to sit and watch the boats whilst eating. Service was first class. Starters were excellent, pizzas could have done with a bit more topping, they clearly expect you to order extra toppings looking at the amount of empty space on my pizza. A good range of drinks including local beers.

Food was 10/10 the pizza is the best I have eaten! Staff was polite I had to knock a star off as there was only baby changing facilities in the women’s toilets luckily my partner was was there to change the baby

Fantastic little spot on the marina. I'll recommend this place because: 1) Excellent service. It's so rare these days to find good service but the waitresses' were so attentive and lovely! 2) Really good food. The menu has so many options we thought the food would be poor. Not at all! We had the prawns and tomatoes to start which were so good. Pizzas and burgers were amazing and we were able to add on so many other items to personalise them. Cheesecake dessert was to die for! 3) Lovely Welsh beer! Thanks for a lovely experience Good Mood!

Good vegan options... Burger, pasta and pizza Small with space inside and out in a beautiful area of the town. Only down point was they had run out of vegan cheese and had no vegan milks, so was limited so make sure you ask when you book. Otherwise brilliant!

We ate here last night for the first time and it was really lovely!.. the staff are really friendly and attentive. It’s a small restaurant if the outside is closed i.e. if it’s raining, so you probably need to book to guarantee a table. When we were there every table was full. Everything was homemade, including the cheese cake. We’ll definitely be coming back 🤩

The staff were absolutely lovely, could not do enough for you. I would certainly book, which we did via Facebook chat a couple of hours before hand. Another couple hadn't booked but the staff advised a table would be free soon so they were happy to wait. Food was well presented, and tasty. The portion size for a pasta dish was huge so it looked like we hadn't liked the food but, we loved the food, we just couldn't fit anymore in. Would recommend any day.

Fantastic experience that came courtesy of the Gluten Free App I use. We had spent the day at Black Rock Sands and were looking for something to eat in Porthmadog. We were about to leave and find somewhere on the drive home when I checked the gluten free app and realised we were 2 minutes walk away from it. Little gem of a find, great staff, lovely food (I had a gluten free burger and girlfriend had a big pizza) and really nice setting. Thanks all for a great time!

This review is Ford good Mood Lounge in the High Street - so first: it’s just as good as the original Good Mood food wise and service. We went for a large licence to,last the rest of the day so had a number of different plates. All excellent food and the pizza was definitely freshly made and one of the best I’ve had for ages. Excellent service and a fair price for the quality of the food, the ambience and service.

My partner and I had the absolute best experience at this restaurant. The food was genuinely incredible. I had a mushroom pasta dish topped with walnuts and honey and I can honestly say it is one of the best dishes I have ever had. My partner had a pizza and it was a proper stonebaked pizza, cooked beautifully. All of the staff were really lovely, the waitress that took our main food order was very helpful and nice. The restaurant is quite small, I highly recommend booking, you don't want to miss out on this place! We came away from our meal here very happy and will definitely be back!

Delicious Pizza! Me and my fiancé were able to order takeaway pizzas from their GM Lounge as we were staying 10 minutes away in a lodge. Such a treat after a day of exploring Snowdon!

(Had to ask for sauces and vinegar, nobody came to ask if food was ok - minor details but important we felt) We both had a delicious, impressive burger which we thoroughly enjoyed. Warmly greeted on arrival, we then thoroughly enjoyed a smash beef burger, fish burger and slow cooked beef ragu. The rosemary seasoned fries were really good! Super views over the harbour and nice outdoor seating area for when the weather warms up! Takes a bit of finding, but is well signposted from the harbour about 100 yards away. You will be able to find cheaper food in Porthmadog but that bit extra is well worth it

Quite possibly the best burgers I've ever eaten. Ate here 2 years ago and was so good I just had to come back again as I was in the area. Outstanding once again, I just wish Iived closer so I could come more often! In addition to the food, the service is superb. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I was very happy to see that they've opened a new restaurant since I was here last. A lovely restaurant, run by lovely people. Can't recommend highly enough. Make sure you pop in if your within a 250 mile radius.

Good Mood is a bit tucked away in part of Porthmadog Yacht Club - but definitely worth finding. I enjoyed a cracking smashed burger with oodles of fries and a really yummy slaw. My wife had mushroom ravioli with a rather special vodka, tomato and cheese sauce. She was purring. Service excellent and, as a bonus, Good Mood is dog friendly. Max loved the fuss, not to mention the bowl of water and the treat the team bought out for him. A winner all round! Pizzas looked excellent as well.

The place is tucked away, but worth finding. Like an American Diner, small inside but lots of outdoor seating. Really good pizza bases, generous toppings. Friendly staff.

Bit of a weird location that has you thinking are you going in the right place. But once you are in there it's lovely and the food is great. I recommend the cowboy burger it's banging.

What a lovely place, we visited after been unable to get into the first choice that evening, and frankly it wasn't a shame. Such a nice location, and the food was really good. The staff were very friendly too, which is always a bonus. Defiantly recommend for those who enjoy this cuisine
