The best restaurants serving Default food in Newry and Mourne Southern NI

We had the back room booked since early January for my Mums 70th birthday party last weekend but when we arrived to set up the room (pictures, balloons and bunting) the room was filthy. I approached the management who explained a man had contacted them (identity unknown) and had reduced the numbers so they had moved our party to the main bar. I get that miscommunication or mistakes can happen but once we confirmed this wasn’t a member from our party (my sister was the only one in communication with the venue) we were aloud to set up. The party started at 7pm we had arrived at 4pm but not one member of staff was sent to help us tidy up and bar staff didn’t arrive until 7pm. As I said at the start the room was filthy there was chicken bones and broken glass all over the floor. Throughout the day we found the management hard to deal with, their attitude towards ourselves and their staff was very poor but the service staff were very nice and helpful. The bathrooms were disgusting and had a very strong odour from early on. The food was delicious though. Just a shame as the venue itself is stunning but let down by bad management with a poor attitude.

Horrible company to deal with. Or at least, the owner of Dublin franchise Brian, was an absolute nightmare to deal with. He almost never answered his phone or texts, whatsapps or emails. When he eventually did answer a message, he just lied about following up on the issue in question, and did nothing. We were booked to provide services for this company on 3 different occasions and we had keep chasing them again and again for the payments. In the end, they eventually paid us for two of the services, but they kept fobbing us off about the final payment, promising to "look into it". Eventually, it seemed the company closed down, which I am not surprised about, given that Brian was so unbelievably disorganised and tried to blame others for his mistakes, which in turn caused delays and led to us having to change arrangements to accommodate him. Nevertheless, we managed to accommodate his requests and we were very flexible and punctual for him. And that was how he repaid us for that - by trying to get away with paying us and eventually never paying the debt for one of the services. It wss a relatively small amount that he owed us, but we are a small business, so everything counts. He was a bigger business, taking advantage of smaller businesses like mine. He knew he could ignore us because we don't have the legal backing or funding take non-paying clients to court. He is an absolutely despicable person, and no one should ever let him run a business again. And I would be extremely embarrassed if I was the owner of the OHO franchise, which is an international company, to know that this was how their franchise was being run by Brian.

Unfortunately the both Burgers were not hot at all and I had to dispose of them

Ordered a delivery and they took the order and never delivered it. Waited over an hour. Absolutely disgusting service

I’m vegetarian, I ordered a vegetarian pizza and i found a piece of chicken in one of the slices!!!!! Never putting a foot there again.

Nice place. Booked last minute but room was nice and warm. Breakfast nice but hall was very cold at 7.30am but I was quite early foe breakfast. Basic food but still nice snd was included in room price

Never lets you down when you need a cheeky takeaway

Asked for a toasted panini cheese,tomato and onion .. I received a chicken onion and tomato on a crusty roll which was cold chips were cold also so I changed my order it came back ok but so was so ignorantly made with quarter of tomato in side and also everyone else had finished and I was eating on my own … must’ve been a different chef on as 2 /3 weeks prior to that my food was lovely .. not sure if I would go back we shall see

Ordered food from their website and they charged me, I called to pick it up and they were closed.

Waited 40 minutes for our food (breakfast) and it was clear that the young staff ‘feared’ the man / cook in the kitchen . I’m my view his attitude was not acceptable and he came across as a bully just watching how he spoke with the staff and their reaction. Other than that the food was good, abd the young staff were all friendly and pleasant, but I don’t think I would go back purely because of how the staff were treated.
