The best restaurants serving Default food in Wolds North East Lincolnshire Yorkshire and The Humber

We’ve had a wonderful visit to Firethorn Cottage today for afternoon tea, as a large family group for Mother’s Day. What a little gem of a place. We were very well looked after, with the children catered for wonderfully as well. The savoury and sweet delights were mouthwatering and nothing was too much trouble. Thanks so much :)

Love it here, whether its just for a coffee or something more, delicious sandwiches, and mouthwatering cakes, theyre to die for!! Also a good take away service and very good efficient staff, they made me feel really welcome as was feeling poorly and in need of some comfort and a good hot tasty soup, to warm me up. Dog friendly and cosy will definitely be a regular customer here for life as I love the chilled out atmosphere.

Brought my mum for her 85th birthday. Had to wait a little while but staff were pleasant enough. Fish & chips were good. We did ask for just a plain prawn salad with Marie Rose sauce for my step dad who’s 93 because he can’t eat much. They brought a huge prawn superfood salad with Marie Rose sauce on the side. Not quite what he wanted but It was fine though. The only downside was there were a lot of flies buzzing about which wasn’t great. The French doors were open to the patio. They did shut them but someone opened them again & loads of flies came in again.

We visited the Oak Room on Friday 17th and couldn’t be happier. The setting is stunning, food was delicious and the staff were very helpful and courteous, Mel was lovely and Martin was so professional making our evening even better. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

Great fish and chips at a good price. A medium size fish is big enough unless you are absolutly famished !!!

The golf club is a great track. Front 9 is tight with the tree's at each side of the fairways. Back 9 a bit easier, but watch out for the water hazard.

Best Chinese Takeaway I have come across in years. Chicken Balls the size of jacket potatoes! Really, REALLY good food.

I seem to remember on previous stays the restaurant having a much wider selection of fare as I found the menu quite limited for this visit . We did find food we liked, but it did take the edge off the experience having such a limited choice. What was served was difficult not to like as it was very nicely cooked and presented , especially when served by the pleasant staff that were on duty during our visit

We enjoyed our meal the food was good but I did have to tell the barman that the glass was dirty (soapy marks not dried properly) come on crew don't let the standards down

Excellent breakfast cooked by Dan highly recommend you give it a try. Great coffee served by Tanya. Staff work hard at customer service.

The shop is fantastic the fresh meat 3 for 9 pounds and it's quality lots of good offers

Went for our evening meal, warm welcome. Food was lovely and well cooked and the large eclair was yum which was boxed up for me to take away

called in to buy house plants but couldn't find any. so decided to stay for lunch. Big mistake. A simple order for a toasted sandwich took 29 minutes to arrive and even then they had forgotten to add the relish. when asked about this we were curtly asked to prove we had ordered it (it was on the receipt!) The salad was a finely chopped mess, with tiny pieces of everything including limp lettuce with curled brown edges. We haven't been there for many years and won't be going again.
