A beautiful place for my birthday lunch, even the dog had a choice of meals. Great food and great service.

Hands down best meal me and the wife have had for ages! Fish and chips amazing, smash burger amazing, desserts absolutely top drawer! Crème brûlée I reckon is the best dessert I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few! 11/10 would deffo recommend. Staff amazing, place amazing!

Special lunchtime sandwich menu, absolutely delicious - another level!

Fish and Chips are a true winner. The beef burger was also very good, the mince pie was nice, but could have eaten more. The salad with added chicken was delicious, but too much salad. All in all a very nice evening with good food.

The food was absolutely superb! We indulged in a 3 course meal and every single dish delivered on taste and quality! Our favourite dishes were the starters, my boyfriend ordered the Duck Croquettes and the accompanying layers of Asian flavours really made it! I ordered the Scallops, they were so buttery and again the accompanying flavours were divine

It is a lovely environment to sit,relax and chat while enjoying a lovely meal. My friend and I had the sandwich and chips and we both said we would come again,beautiful soft bread and over fill of prawns loads of chips and also included a dessert for £10 I say is really good value.

Great service cracking food. Just a bit cackley noise wise was lunchtime though. And while I love dogs and being allowed in restaurant. If you are a dog owner please control your dog as per children . Seen but not heard. Yapee dogs Spoilt my lunch.

We visited for a family celebration. There was 11 of us. The food was fabulous. It was easy to place our pre order as it was Christmas time. The communication was good. Staff were helpful, attentive and professional.

We paid for the dine stay and breakfast package as a little treat as i work away and my wife’s never been here before. The meal and evening entertainment was good sadly we dinned at 7.15pm and there was lots missing off the menu which was disappointing as i quite fancied fish and scallops but overall what we ate was very nice and the service good. Our room was very comfortable and situated out the way which was great but our only complaints are that the room was freezing cold you would of thought the radiators would be turned on prior to guests checking in and there isn’t no bathroom mirror which is strange and having a shave i had to keep going to the mirror in the main room and back to bathroom. Other than that it was value for money.

We had a family Christmas dinner in the last two years at the Manor. The service and food was good. Atmosphere varies as a larger room is available to cater for larger groups, would have been to have some background music.Staff were great !

We frequently visit Healing Manor and are always impressed by the food and service! We decided to attend for Christmas dinner this year, and we are so glad we did! Everything, from the service, the atmosphere and the food was phenomenal! Myself and my husband are both gluten free and were delighted to also enjoy Yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese (this never happens anywhere, thank you!) We all left feeling very full and very happy, having had none of the stress of making Christmas dinner! We will definitely be booking again for next year!

Christmas dinner. This was our third time visiting Healing Manor for Christmas Dinner and even though every year has been great this for us was our best occasion. It was very calm and relaxed, as the they had staggered the arrivals. Thus the staff never seemed to be rushed. The staff appeared genuinely happy to be there and the service was excellent. They went above and beyond at all tables around us, to ensure the time spent with them was as special as it could be. Myself, wife and young daughter all had different dishes for each course and all without exception were lovely and well presented. After I write this I will email and book for next year. I think that says it all. Well done all at Healing Manor for contributing to another lovely Christmas.

Christmas Day dinner excellent. Everything was just right, food was excellent and timing between the 7 courses was great, everyone was lovely and service was just as good as the food. We had to take nice pies as a carry out as we was all so full from the main courses. Would recommend to anyone

Food was second to none and staff were brilliant it’s a little annoying when the dogs started barking and carrying on There were at least three dogs at one point with there owners at various tables all started kicking off every time another dog came in! Shaking there hairs all about - I like dogs but not the malting sort especially when eating

We go to the P&W regularly and it is frustrating that often we have to hang around at the bar waiting to be seen by the staff. Sometimes they are punching things into the till with their backs turned, sometimes there is no one around. This time we had booked in advance and we were disappointed that we were taken away from the bar area with its ambient music and vibrant feel into the sterile quiet dining room. The food was good as usual.

No, not fish and chips, but the team at Premier Seafoods and the team at the Pig & Whistle. The best supply of haddock and a very fine chef. Haddock, chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce has never tasted better. Beautifully cooked fish, chips too, served quickly by polite and helpful staff. That was our experience today, as usual. 👏

Went for a family meal. My 9 year old son has a gluten free diet which was well catered for. The waiter was spot on, mother was too much trouble for him. Food was lovely, cooked and presented well.

Had a great stay at Healing Manor with a great meal at the Pig and Whistle restaurant. We had the beef wellington, which was superb. Starters were also good, but the desserts were too big for us - but that would suit others! The restaurant manager was very friendly and knowledgeable. My only gripes were the dead flowers on the table and the missing feet on most of the dining chairs, leading to rocking. Overall, we were very happy, and are looking to come back next month!

Had a great 1st couples meal here last night in the resturant. The food was really nice made all the better by the service and knowledge of the waiter and waitress that served us, this guy is a credit to this place, never got his name 🤦. Really enjoyed our night out and will definitely be back again 😁.

Viisiting from Australia - Lovely outlook over garden and wildlife. Excellent service and delicious food. Atmosphere quiet when there as we dined early, but loved it. Will definitely return on our next visit to UK. ♥️🏆🍸

Visited the pig and whistle with friend this afternoon it was excellent! Food was beautifully presented and tasted even better! Service was efficient and very professional with pleasant staff. Definitely our go to for Sunday lunch!

A great place for a lunch. We had the special sandwich and sweet menu. A little disappointed that they don't do the soup and sandwich menu any more, nevertheless delicious food with exceptional waitress service, friendly and efficient. Have been before and will keep coming so long as the food and service remains as good. Always good atmosphere as well. Would definitely recommend.

Had an amazing time here. Service was top class and really friendly. Was made to feel very comfortable and topped off with amazing food. If i were to criticise anything, it may need some dusting to remove some spider webs inside. That didn't ruin or effect the whole experience.

Absolutely amazing! Fabulous food - great service. Beautiful location. My nephew said it was the best food he'd ever tasted! We had meals from both the A la carte and bar menus, both extremely good. Portion sizes are big though, so take that into consideration before going. The food was so good we brought our left overs home 🤭

Waiting staff very obliging when asked if I could change my chair as it was too high & hurting my legs with my feet not touching the floor it was stopping my circulation. Food very nice. Ladies powder room clean & beautifully decorated. Just note there are 2 x car parks quite close to each other i mistakenly parked in one first on the left & could have gone nearer to the Manor so doing this my friends where waiting in the other..it is also dog friendly. Would certainly go back again & would recommend. You have to give a contact number & email if booking is for 4 x people or more incase of not turning up so they can charge you £30 which is understandable..we went for lunch Iovley choices on the menu. They do a lunchtime offer too which includes a dessert which was very good & good portions.

We went for our anniversary and it was the best meal out we’ve had in years. The scallop starter and panna cotta dessert deserve a special mention. The ambience was peaceful, it was tastefully decorated and the staff were so pleasant and polite. We went for a stroll in Healing Manor gardens after our meal. Blissful. Will be back to try a lunch next time. Can’t wait!

Absolutely beautifully cooked haddock, chips and peas with tartare sauce. The batter was perfect, a delicious meal. Great to see that diners are given the option of eating in the HM restaurant when a wedding party is likely to take over the pub. Much appreciated. 👏 Unbeatable value for money, £17 with a pint of beer, glass of wine or Prosecco included.

Went with my nanna and grandad for lunch today and I must say both the service and food was outstanding. I haven’t had service as good in a long time and I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt like this deserved one. Big thanks to Josh, Jake and Amy we had a great time. Had dinner on Saturday 29th June as always a fantastic meal! We both had steak - cooked to perfection and the two desserts were fab, as was the wine! Service as always was brilliant - always feels like a special ‘treat’ to have dinner at Healing Manor. Only tiny criticism was the table arrangements - it felt like we were sat on top of the people next to us and we struggled to hear each other speak when the bottom end of the restaurant had no one sat in it … 😊

The menu dosent state what the food is made of like beer battered fish it dosent state, lucky my husband asked the lady said they did gluten free, this would of been OK if was true as that wasent stated on the menu either, I couldn't eat much of this as when I lifted of the batter my fish was raw, I didn't complain as was in a party of people, I was very poorly that night, food menus should state and a place like yours I would of thought so we definitely won't be back

We had a multiple celebration gathering at Healing Manor, nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They were able to adapt to all of the changes as they arose. It made our celebration so much better.

Love coming here to eat and drink but tonight was not very good. The price of two drinks was ridiculous, more than London prices, £14 for a large white wine and lemonade!!!!, waited 15 min for my drink to come, as lemonade was off, we were in the bar, noone in the restaurant , and just us and another table eating, so very very quiet. I have to say, that sitting next to the wall, at the back of bar, it is so grubby, the walls, covered in food, and stains, the seats ripped, food on radiators, it really needs a thorough clean. The table next to us, were complaining about the hardness of the chips with their fish, we had ordered the same, so waited for ours to arrive, yes, the chips were like bricks, so undercooked, which, when only two tables eating, how ??? - ordered bread and butter which never came, and noone came to check if everything was ok. The waiter (who was great) - who over heard me talking with the other couple, we were saying if you are paying £18 for fish and chips, the chips should be cooked - took this into consideration, and refunded both of the couples, service was not great, for such a quiet evening.

I really wanted to give overall 5 Stars. But the service was very poor. The waitress forgot to put our order through on the till so after waiting for our food for nearly an hour and seeing other people getting ther food before us even though they came in after us , we told the waitress and eventually got our lunch. Fortunately the food was delicous and couldn't be faulted. The waitress was very apologetic, and we were given free drinks and 10% off the rest of the bill. She really should have been a bit more on the ball, as she passed our table many times and never thought to wonder why were had no food on our table. maybe need a bit in house training about customer service.

Such a wonderful experience, the food, staff and atmosphere were great. I chose the fish and chips, I can honestly say, they were the best fish and chips I have eaten, and the curry sauce was so delicious, all presented beautifully. I Have already booked a return visit.

Rude girl on bar and got ripped off with drinks!! Horrible place. No toilet paper in ladies and when I brought it to her attention she just ignored me!! Would never return. Avoid this place. Not welcoming at all!!

I honestly couldn’t recommend it more. Never leave reviews, good, bad or indifferent- I’m pretty lazy like that. But was so very impressed today by the food and service I’ve had to leave one. So here it is: 10/10 will most definitely return. 5 of us all had different meals and all were top notch. Actually I shouldn’t actually leave a review as it might make it more popular and I may not get a table when I want to return……. So all in all, you should go. Just not when I want to….

We went for a birthday meal and everything was fantastic. Professional staff, lovely atmosphere and most importantly incredible food. For special occasions I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else! Well done to all the team!

Came here to celebrate my partner’s birthday. Booked a table in the bar ahead as we had our dog with us. No one said hello to us when we walked in and a young man from the bar who appeared very unenthusiastic took us to our table. There was no ‘how are you?’ or small talk. Which, in my opinion you expect at a higher end venue. We were not presented with a dog menu, even though this is advertised on the website and should be a talking point really as it’s so unique. Our food was great, amazing actually. However, the problem came after the meal. We sat there for 30 minutes with empty drinks just waiting for someone to ask us if we wanted anything else or the bill. Being my partners birthday I expected at the very least a ‘happy birthday’ or something. I actually wanted to cry for my girlfriend as I’d talked so much to her about the place. Massive let down, we watched tables around us receive a much better service. I don’t know, but can’t shake the feeling this was some kind of statement or ulterior motive. Very disappointed as the food was really good and setting lovely.

Fantastic, the quality, the flavour, the service, I could not fault this resurant in the slightest, I have not had mussels so beautiful in years The portion size could be half the amount and the same price, and i would still give the same review We stopped overnight and had the buffet style breakfast, which was also amazing. The bacon was a real show stopper

My friend and I went for a meal to celebrate the memory of our Mother's. The food was amazing and so enjoyable. The staff were so kind and friendly and prices very good.

Chanced upon the Pig and Whistle and how fortunate we were! A bit of a strange entrance to the pub - the barn type door was shut, and the place looked closed down. However, a lift of the latch revealed a light and commotion within, so all was good. The young man who took us to our seats was polite and attentive, as were all of his colleagues who attended to us during the meal. The menu was classy and offered plenty of options for us non-meat eaters. We went for the fish dishes - monkfish and smoked haddock kedgeree - both in another level. They were almost like 'tapas' - so many different flavours but on one plate. Each mouthful to be savoured. For the course of the meal the staff were attentive but not overbearing. We shared a treacle tart with ice cream desert. Mrs loved the ice cream, which had peppercorns in, but they were a bit overbearing on the treacle for my taste, but i applaud the idea and this is a minor quibble and a matter of personal taste. Great place, lovely staff, and wonderful food.

Great afternoon and evening yesterday at the Pig and Whistle. Service was second to none and the food was heavenly - our pooch enjoyed his visit as did we. I can highly recommend our 2 mains, they were, without doubt, some of the best food we have encountered in a very long time whilst eating out. Mussels, leek, cider and cream sauce, cheese and bacon crumb.  Pig and Whistle chips, (these are no ordinary chips, they are a work of art!!), cheese sauce. Oscar Cleve's Fish and Chips with homemade tartar sauce, choice of peas. Thank you team P & W, awesome!! 5* all the way.

Excellent sevice, bar staff, waiting staff was very attentive and the food was 1st class, we had all our food brought out together, well done Chefs, we were a party of 13 celebrating our grandaughters 4th birthday allowing us to bring our own cake.

We went for a family Sunday lunch. We always enjoy the excellent food and service. Unfortunately, on this visit there were two very large tables which took up all the staffs time, resulting in very slow service at our table. The food didn't arrive all together with some of our party waiting too long after others had been served. The cauliflower cheese was burnt, black on top and shouldn't have left the kitchen like that. I will return but big parties need more staff

We went for a three course meal at Healing Manor/ Pig and Whistle to taste our wedding breakfast food and the team did not disappoint. It was excellent and the staff could not do enough to help. Really recommend the food here and the portion sizes do not disappoint. Some nice options for plant based eaters too (which I am) and the taste is not bland like other places I have been.

Ate in the bar here while on a 2 night stay in the hotel with our dog. The food was some of the best we have had, would highly recommend the fish and chips. The portion sizes are very good. Dogs very well looked after, too, with water bowls. There was a dog dining menu, but we didn't try it.

Had the camenbert starter and was not let down plenty for 2 and delicious Went for the pork roast 😋 Well made food and enough to feel full Staff was amazing and a lovely place to eat highly recommended 👌

Popped in over the holidays while in the area. Would recommend a visit. There is a bar menu and comfy seating if you want something more casual. We sat in the restaurant. Pictured is the rabbit & chicken scotched egg, roast venison and sticky toffee pudding. The food was fantastic, my only comment is the scotched egg is a touch big for a starter. The little cottage pie that came with the venison was the real start of the show. At the end of the meal I was very full. So no complaints. Jenna, the manager, was great, she looked after us well, friendly and attentive. The other staff were also very friendly. I’ll definitely be back for their tasting menu.

We were selected as competition winners and we took our parents with us. We visited on 30th Dec for afternoon tea. It’s a lovely atmosphere and the restaurant manager Jenna was most attentive and her warm personality was most welcoming. All the food was delicious as we have come to expect from this venue. We got married here during covid and they went above and beyond to help with all the pandemic issues we faced and accommodate what became 2 separate days of celebration.

Regularly use the restaurant and bar at Healing Manor for meeting clients. The food and service are generally very good and location is convenient. Nothing to really shout about but it's always a reliable choice.

Christmas afternoon tea. Interesting collection of crockery. Did asked to change Perseco for red wine, there were unable as not part of the menu. Staff did a great job & provided prompt service.

The staff was great .The food is fabulous, with huge portion sizes .very clean. The only downside was that in the ladies' toilet, the tissue bin was too small. Therefore, tissue was all over the floor. It was cleared a couple of times, but the volume of customers using the bin outweied the times it was emptied But the overall experience was fab .

Eaten here several times and always great. Last night however, was the abolute best. We were well looked after from the moment of arrival with attentive, friendly and professional staff who were interested in making our experience the best it could be. They succeeded The menu was mouthwatering and made choosing what to eat quite difficult, likewise with the winelist. Food was very well cooked (hats off to the kitchen crew) who crammed each morsel full of taste. The wine was excellent. Throughout the meal, the waiting staff were there when needed and not at other times which is just how it should be. Great people work at this organisation who go over and above to look after guests and ensure everyone goes away happy. Well done to the whole team and we'll be back!

Christmas night out with the girls and so pleased we chose to eat here. We wanted something nicer than just a standard pub meal and it didn't disappoint. Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and the flavours and presentation of the food were absolutely amazing, will definitely be eating here more often. What a lovely setting for a festive afternoon tea. The place was beautifully decorated from outside to inn, it made us both smile, we got a lovely welcome from the lady on reception, she was very polite and bubbly, just the welcome to start you off for a good afternoon. We were shown to our table and ordered a glass of Prosecco. The afternoon tea followed shortly afterwards, it was wonderfully arranged and tasted as good as it looked, the pastries and desserts were xmas themed and added to the excitement, along with unlimited tea and coffee this was the perfect xmas afternoon tea, we both thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend. Special mention to Lily & Misha for their outstanding service, Merry xmas and New year to all the staff and I wish to venture back in 2024

The food was delicious, ample quantity and excellent quality served by a variety of very friendly staff. The whole whole atmosphere was relaxed and festive.
