We have been going to this wonderful little cafe since it first opened. We usually get a take-out, but have also eaten in on occasion. The staff are absolutely first-class, friendly, helpful and just charming.
The cakes, all home-made, are scrumptious and the sandwiches freshly made to order. I can't fault it as a whole experience and whilst it can get very busy at lunch-time, as the people who man it are all volunteers, I trust customers are patient if they have a short wait for the delicious food.
Booked in advance for a breakfast ahead of attending a football match at The Shay. Less than 10 mins on foot to the ground. Cafe was smartly turned out inside and the bar area led out to a pleasant and colourful courtyard. The staff were friendly and attentive. Even though I'd pre-ordered, my breakfast was cooked freshly. The first sip of the accompanying latte was beautiful.
The bacon was thick and tasty, the sausage was local farm produce standard. Three sausages and three rashers too. Portobello mushroom and grilled tomato completed the ensemble, save for the tastiest grilled chorizo sausage I've ever tasted outside of Spain. Toasted sourdough bread and butter completed experience.
Reasonably and fairly priced too, I will be back the next time I am in the area.
Thanks all at Urban Garden Kitchen and Bar!
Deli on the bridge are old school. Great sandwiches/jacket potatoes/salads/burgers etc. for very reasonable prices.
They currently deliver locally if you spend £5, which is only the cost of two breakfast sandwiches. I treat myself to a sandwich every Friday morning and it is always delivered promptly and incredibly fresh and hot.
100% recommended
This is a great place for a coffee & a sweet treat or a spot of lunch, along with a great selection of Italian wines and food to take home with you - highly recommended if you're in the area
popped in for a takeaway brownie for the kids, the owner is so friendly, helpful and passionate about his business it is a pleasure to see. Deserts are delicious but very naughty...will definitely be back to eat in. A refreshing change from the countless faceless coffee chains.
We came in for a coffee and had an excellent flat white, very nice tasting and not too milky. They have some interesting things for sale here and we left with some bars of reasonably priced soap
Neautiful location, friendly waitress, nice buns, however she was wearing pyjamas. She wanted us to wash up. Dogs and cats everywhere. Would definitely visit again as long as she bakes that millionaire shortbread again, pieces were too small - too good to be stingy!
Recommend to anyone wanting a delicious coffee in a beautiful location.
We booked a table for 15 family members to celebrate my Mums 80th birthday. From
start to finish, everything was faultless! The staff were so welcoming and helpful. The food was amazing and exceptionally tasty. Service wise nothing was too much trouble and I felt the staff really went the extra mile. All round a fabulous experience, which we all enjoyed immensely.
Thank you for helping to make Mums ‘big’ birthday, a very special day to remember.
Arrived in Halifax for a wedding. Not a clue of where to eat the night before, so chose an Italian within walking distance. How glad are we that I chose here. The family recipe ribs, were to die for. The margaritas were perfectly mixed. The service was delightful. Will definitely be coming back , next time I am in the frozen north 👍🏻😄

Had a problem with our order through Just Eat so we called the store Halifax and spoke to a lovely young lady and her manager and we explained the situation and they was very helpful and quickly resolved the situation. Highly recommend! 👍🏼👍🏼
Best food we've had in a long time. Great vegetarian options, food perfectly cooked. Every vegetable could be tasted, and delicious naan and mango lassie. Prices reasonable and very obliging and attentive staff. We went twice as it was so good. Obviously very popular and busy.
