I love this place. I plan my work days around their opening. This food is epic and I love the chilli crisp. It’s really great value for money and filling. It’s the best eatery in the south west!
Perfect oasis away from the high street with friendly staff and delicious food. The rocket, parmesan and prosciutto ciabatta is particularly recommended!
When the high street is swamped with corporate style eateries, POP stands out, really stands out!
Not only is it reasonable but the food even from a bowl of olives to a breathtaking dessert is 5 star….
Serving good wines at a reasonable price too makes POP a true winner amongst a city of mediocre restaurants!
We had lunch here today, in the garden. We chose the sweet potato burger (with a yummy brown roll and a delicious sriracha mayonnaise) and the Buddha box (brown rice, falafel, hummus, veg) and thought both were excellent for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike - tasty and healthy and not expensive. I don’t know when I was last so impressed with a meal in a cafe! Service with a smile, too.
Oh my goodness, what a lovely cafe very glad I discovered by accident
Delicious tasty food, great staff, and a fab atmosphere.....very glad I'm local and have no hesitation in recommending and will definitely take the right hand turn off Queen street again !!!
We celebrated my daughters 18th birthday here with cocktails and lunch. Neil and his team were lovely and really went the extra mile. Friendly place with great atmosphere. We were really lucky with the weather and sat outside with blue sky. Can't wait to go back! Thank you guys!
Absolutely delicious food once again… Freshly prepared, perfectly cooked and without fault. Would wholeheartedly recommend ordering from here rather than the commercial Mexican chains around… You will not regret trying this locally run business.

Generally don't submit bad reviews - life too short, but was quite offended by this place. First ever visit here today, tho I often come to Exeter and go to lots of cafes with my laptop to work, and generally have a good experience. So went in and approached the counter, where the staff quite honesty looked annoyed at my presence. Was curtly told to take a seat, which I did, and then come back and order. Found a seat and went back to counter and asked for the £6 bacon sourdough sandwich and hot drink deal. Again, staff were quite unfriendly and then rang up the order and asked for £8 something. When I pointed out that it was £6 they looked really fed up and the manager tried to make out that I was ordering the wrong thing for the deal, which I wasn't. I then went back to my table and asked if I could work on my laptop and plug it in (something I always do out of basic curtesy). The sandwich came and had one rasher of bacon in it, and the cortado I'd ordered was the worst rendition of that Spanish classic I've ever tasted - 6 quid for that!! Anyway, I ate (as was hungry - this was my breakfast), worked for a bit on my laptop and left about 40 mins after I'd gone in. The staff completely ignored me as I left, even as I attempted to say goodbye. The bad food I can accept - its basically for students who know no better, so the place can rest on its laurels - but I was treated by the staff as though I was just some enormous turd that they didn't want in there. They were clearly students, and I guess it being Exeter, were of the spoilt, self-entitled variety who feel that basic manners don't apply to them? Who knows - anyway, won't be going there again!!
Husband saw a review somewhere recently which said best bacon bap in Exeter was from Buttylicious. Had to visit furniture store earlier today which is just down the road so thought let's give it a try. What an amazing choice of food at very good prices but decided to stick with our original choice. Three very large thick slices of lovely bacon in a soft bap. Had to go back to the lady to say how lush the bacon was. We will definitely be back but not sure for what as so much to choose from. Maybe a cheeseburger as another customer was just being served one and it too looked delicious. Don't anybody think this is just another butty van in a car park, it is so much more!

I reached out to Barnova just five days before my brother’s wedding, over a bank holiday weekend (last minutes I know) and they absolutely saved the day.
From the moment Yvan and the team arrived, they took total charge of the event with professionalism, calm confidence, and incredible attention to detail. What started as a bit of a scramble turned into a beautifully run celebration, all thanks to them.
Yvan and the Barnova didn’t just handle the drinks (which were fantastic, by the way); they stepped in to oversee food service and all the hospitality elements. It felt like they were everywhere at once—making sure guests were taken care of, everything was served on time and with a smile, and that the whole experience felt effortless for us.
The team was polished, friendly, and completely in sync. So many of our guests commented on how seamless everything felt, and how impressed they were with everything. We couldn’t have asked for a better crew to help us pull off such a special day.
If you’re looking for a company that will go above and beyond—not just bartending but elevating your entire event— Barnova is it. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
With our first visit to Caribbean868 we were in for a real treat. Firstly, we could actually smell the food before we even saw the stall and let me tell you..it smelt soo good!...secondly, we saw the que of people being served, this was a good sign. We were greeted by Chris and his wife Sasha who are so friendly. They saw us waiting and asked if we wanted to sample some curry which we happily agreed to. I can honestly say that this is the best tasting west Indian curry I've had outside of the Caribbean....after a few samples my partner and I chose the Beef curry and Bake and fish. I went back for seconds!!! The taste of this food is absolutely delicious. I could not get enough. Then onto the coconut cakes...wow! my taste buds were going nuts by this point. With all meals made easy to eat, I could of spent hours here. Nothing was too spicy, it was just right. To be sat there in the sun eating Bake and fish takes me back to being on Maracus beach in Trinidad..well almost lol.. Prices were excellent, Chris and Sasha are warm and friendly, and the vibe given off by this place really makes for an enjoyable visit..So if you are in Exeter and would like to try `Authentic` Caribbean food cooked by Trinidadian`s then be sure to visit Guildhall and sample this place.
A 5 star review for food, prices, customer service and overall experience.
100% recommend Caribbean868
Thank you to you both
