Fab drinks on a cold evening- the mulled wine was delicious, also very kind to the children with us - thank you for the marshmallows!

Exeter's Christmas market bar this year was back to its good old days with lovely decor with natural products, festive, welcoming lights, and real Christmas trees, giving it a real Alpine feel. I know the company is very committed to its excellent sustainability principles, employing local people, sourcing local products, using washable reusable cups, and cutting down on waste as much as possible. There was always a very vibrant atmosphere inside the main bar, signposted with its new wooden sign outside, while the large open fire of the Tipi bar is lovely and warming on a cold day! Local beers, uniquely tasty home-made mulled wine and apple cider, a vibrant atmosphere every day makes this a real high point of Exeter’s Christmas market!

Visited The Antler Inn for some birthday drinks in November and we had such a lovely time! The live band was great and the mulled wine was equally as good!

I worked with BarNova this year doing the decor in the various bar tents at Exeter Christmas Market. So easy to work with and super professional. The level of thought, care, attention to detail and effort that they put into the production of their bars is second to none. I have worked in the events biz for 15 years now and these guys are very clearly a cut above the rest. Would definitely recommend using their services and I hope to work alongside them on many more events in the future.

Love the Exeter cathedral bar this year, so cosy and Christmassy! The themed cocktails are lush, I don’t normally drink cider but the mulled cider they do was actually tasty. Although it was very busy the staff were super friendly and efficient, great place for a few drinks with family and friends before the big day :)

These guys just keep smashing it out of the park. Fantastic to have them back this year and both venues at the Christmas Market in Exeter have been a huge success. A great team, great service, and great products.

Lovely experience, the environment is great and super welcoming. The staff is lovely and has always a smile on their faces. Their mulled wine/cider and even warm apple juice are delicious specially around winter season. Their participation in the Exeter Christmas Market has been an yearly event I always look forward to. Couldn’t recommend more!

Visited in Exeter, Bar Nova ruined and trashed the usually lovely cathedral green. Mulled wine was full of sediment and the organisation of the bar was so poor rubbish was everywhere. Usually I love Christmas markets and have visited BarNova on many occasions but it has really gone down hill since 2021. Shame.

Great experience with these guys at a local festival. We made a good selection of cocktails and the kids even made mocktails, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Faye was so lovely and I hope you guys are going to be back at Gone Wild next year!

I visited Taco-Macho for a family birthday recently. The restaurant is in the upstairs of the Cuckoo Taproom so plenty of of opportunity for pre and post dinner drinks. Gustavo, Taco Macho owner, is a really generous host, his food really is utterly delicious and I could probably eat there every day! :) Everything is very reasonably priced and the restaurant space is small and chilled. There is also the option to have your food in the pub downstairs. Highly recommended!

Generally don't submit bad reviews - life too short, but was quite offended by this place. First ever visit here today, tho I often come to Exeter and go to lots of cafes with my laptop to work, and generally have a good experience. So went in and approached the counter, where the staff quite honesty looked annoyed at my presence. Was curtly told to take a seat, which I did, and then come back and order. Found a seat and went back to counter and asked for the £6 bacon sourdough sandwich and hot drink deal. Again, staff were quite unfriendly and then rang up the order and asked for £8 something. When I pointed out that it was £6 they looked really fed up and the manager tried to make out that I was ordering the wrong thing for the deal, which I wasn't. I then went back to my table and asked if I could work on my laptop and plug it in (something I always do out of basic curtesy). The sandwich came and had one rasher of bacon in it, and the cortado I'd ordered was the worst rendition of that Spanish classic I've ever tasted - 6 quid for that!! Anyway, I ate (as was hungry - this was my breakfast), worked for a bit on my laptop and left about 40 mins after I'd gone in. The staff completely ignored me as I left, even as I attempted to say goodbye. The bad food I can accept - its basically for students who know no better, so the place can rest on its laurels - but I was treated by the staff as though I was just some enormous turd that they didn't want in there. They were clearly students, and I guess it being Exeter, were of the spoilt, self-entitled variety who feel that basic manners don't apply to them? Who knows - anyway, won't be going there again!!
