The best restaurants serving Default food in Tonbridge and Malling South East

My work commits to to travel to Restaurants/ Hotels/ Major pub chains. Covering 30 + per week. I recently stayed here at Rose & Crown Tonbridge. Having read other reviews I understand some of the comments posted . However looking at age of building etc. It has its quirky elements. However the staff were polite friendly and very attentive. Alot of other Hotels could learn from this. Also the room I had was spotlessly clean. Minor issues creaking floor boards some staining on quilt itself. Yet all in all for the price of the room. I feel its excellent in value & hospitality. Highly recommended

The staff here are really great. Staying nearby with my daughter and popped in most mornings for bacon roll and coffee. At £3.40 for both you can’t complain. Smiling staff and quick service. Thanks all. You are a credit to Greggs. Give them a pay rise 👍👍. Thanks for all the hard work.

A small village cafe for locals and visitors. Friendly service team and offers fresh home made food daily. Lovely homemade cakes as well. (my favourite is the ginger cake)

Simply a brilliant bar. Great atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly. Beer is amazing, cider, wine, sparkling perry. This pub has won national awards even pub of the year. Food is cracking and the decor and general layout is wonderful. If you get a chance drop in you will be very pleasantly surprised!

Great pub, not as small as people make out. Has a 'mezzanine' floor with more seating. A lovely log fire place and gravity pour real ales. Bar snacks available and a selection of flat cider as well as a few alcohol free beers. A pint of Fine Light (3.7%) set me back just £3.50.

Your service was unacceptable today. We were treated very rudely, like outsiders and ignored on quite a few occasions. Not only that but discrimination towards a friend of mine who had an accent, that even the waitress walked away from us mid sentence on ordering! It's unprofessional not to be able to accommodate a simple request like splitting the bill. Then saying "I'm too busy, pay and go". When asking the manager politely to follow instructions he refused and said the same thing and rushed off. He kept giving us dirty looks as well. They pretended to not speak English to us and when there were other locals they recognised they spoke to them nicely, but treated us differently. This place shouldn't be open if they can't communicate with people properly We will not be returning due to the poor service and discrimination we received. They were extremely lucky to get £15 out of us... We had the right to not pay after that experience.

Cracking micro pub, very welcoming, great decor, good selection of ale, good price, went in yesterday with my 'driver' (daughter) tried a plum porter ale called Titanic went down very well!. I think I'm right in saying they are just going to celebrate 8 years of being open, congratulations to staff, owners..... and punters of course

Sunday lunch. A table for four adults. Main courses : Our friends ordered the beef which arrived four slices, acceptably sized. My partner and I both ordered the pork belly. When the plates were placed before us, we were taken-aback as to how little pork there was in this dish, and that had been decided as being a reasonable amount. Two ‘fingers’ of meat each, we approximate as being about 3cm x 10cm x 1cm. Beef being a more expensive meat than pork, we couldn’t understand why we were given so little, and certainly not an amount which lived up to expectation, nor considered your money’s worth, no matter how nice a plate may look. On top of that, we were genuinely astounded at the bowl of vegetables (swede and kale) which was placed on the table for us to somehow share. There was so little of it, you would have thought it were intended for two. I checked with the waitress to see if there was another one coming, but she said ‘no. That is the amount for four people. We said to the waitress who went off, but no one returned to address this. (We think that speaking to the chef was mentioned, particularly with the lack of meat). We waited, said to another member of staff, and after nothing had happened, I stopped the man who looked as if he were the manager. We explained our dissatisfaction and he arranged for more vegetables to turn up, which was good, only that he didn’t address the lack of pork. For what we had, the food was enjoyable and skilfully cooked, but having to raise these issues with more than one member of staff, with one issue being overlooked or ignored, although we paid the added 12 1/2% tip, we still don’t feel that we are totally satisfied with the service or value for money.

Bowley's is truly an outstanding restaurant situated in a lovely country pub, run by a team who clearly love what they do. Locally sourced, fresh ingredients turned into mouth watering dishes which we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff's attention to detail is second to none and they catered for our Dietary requirements with ease and professionalism at short notice. My husband really enjoyed his Birthday here. I can't recommend Bowley's enough and we'll be back sooner than later.
