St. Leonard's in Tonbridge and Malling

Absolutely fantastic! We used the private dining room at the St Leonard's for a birthday celebration. The room is beautifully decorated and very spacious (there was 10 of us). The service was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble and the team were super attentive. The food was amazing, as always. Thoroughly recommend the St Leonard's and will definitely be using the private dining room again.

We booked a private dining room for a family Sunday Lunch and opted for a lamb sharer. We were served beautiful warm bread rolls with a selection of butter and oil and a superb starter. The main Sunday roast meal was delicious with lamb that was so tender and tasty served with onions, garlic and herbs and a selection of vegetables, cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes and massive Yorkshire puds. Absolutely fantastic meal with sticky toffee pudding and clotted cream to follow. The private room was spacious and set out for our family lunch and it was just what we wanted. We were able to eat in relaxing surroundings with our family. The staff were professional, polite and made are lunch very special. In the words of my granddaughter ‘we are in a super special room’. All in all a wonderful lunch and afternoon.

This place really deserves a full 5star rating. From interior, to staff to their dishes, and even the fragrance in their toilets - it's all perfection. Had their £29 3-course set menu and it was a beautiful mix of vegetarian / meat / fish dishes. Their a la carte is beautifully designed with locally sourced produce, the pork belly and the steak were ace! We can't wait to come try their infamous Sunday lunch! Also we were way late and stayed over their closing hour and yet they were more than happy to accommodate us! Thumbs up will make this my local weekend spot!

Been to West malling so many times. So many great restaurants around here, but first time to come here!! Wow what a nice restaurant, the food was faultless come in timely manner as well. Service was also good. Very happy, highly recommended and we defo coming back.

I recently dined at St Leonard’s and was really disappointed with the pork dish I received. It was burnt to the point of being inedible, with the charred exterior overpowering any flavor the dish may have had. I can’t fathom why a chef would send this out to a customer—it’s as if there was no quality check whatsoever even from FOH Serving this to my table and not seeing it was inedible, but yet still charging me a hefty service charge to serve me the burnt meat from kitchen. This isn’t just a minor oversight, it’s a glaring mistake that shouldn’t happen in any professional kitchen. Chef take more pride in what you sending out I would have waited. It’s hard to trust a place that lets food like this reach the table.

I treated my Sister for Her 60th Birthday, Great food and drink choices,the service was very good ,no parking,we were lucky to find a parking space down the road.

Nicely decorated sophisticated restaurant. Lunch time menu was sufficiently varied and tasty. The Gazpacho was one of the best I’d tasted. Portion sizes were a little small considering the cost. A birthday sweet treat was a nice surprise. We’ll save up and re visit!

We’re not from the area, we were visiting and went here for our anniversary. The food was delicious, as well as plated nicely and the staff were very professional and attentive. 100% would recommend.

My family and I visited on a Saturday evening. The 4 of us all chose something different from the menu, which was all amazing. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The cocktails were lovely and nice to see local produce being used. Would visit again and recommend.

Outstanding Sunday lunch, with great choices

My husband and I dined here for date night and both the service and the food were superb. The restaurant had such a relaxed atmosphere, the cocktails were delicious and our food arrived quickly. What can I say… the food was delicious (you have to try the “fish and chips”). I can’t wait to go back, thank you, St Leonard’s Team! And thank you Terry for making our evening so special with your friendly conversation.

Very impressed! Had a delicious 3 course Sunday roast with family and friends for my birthday! Food was nicely served and plentiful. Beautiful cocktails and appreciated the complimentary birthday sweet treats! Service was great and felt very well looked after. Everyone agreed best roast around.

We have been a few times before and so decided to go for Sunday lunch. It’s a nice open airy modern restaurant. Food was really good as it had been the last few times, however when you’re spending over £120 for a 2 course meal I was really shocked to see that they had charged me £4.50 for a thumb size little pot of extra gravy for my roast dinner, I think sometimes it just goes a bit too far and when I asked for just a bit more gravy. Next there be charging for the horseradish I also asked for as well.

What a true hidden gem this restaurant is! For me, this restaurant is worthy of a Michelin star. Superb experience. Came here via a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. The restaurant is elegant and has a smart yet relaxed and welcoming atmosphere to it. The staff were all very welcoming and attentive, which added to the experience. They worked so well as a team and you could tell they all really enjoyed their work, which was great to see. As for the food, it was exceptional. I had the chicken thighs, crab starter, lamp rump main and caramel dessert. All were so delicious. Such great cookery. The wine list was excellent too and I loved seeing such good quality local wines on there. The Bacchus white and Pretty Argentinian Malbec were superb and great value. Cocktails were also great. I tried the rum punch which was lovely and definitely packed a punch! All in all a wonderful restaurant, with standout food, service and ambience. Great food, aesthetics was fabulous!

Fantastic Sunday lunch today, delicious tender chicken, fantastic roast potatoes and the desserts were out of this world.

I dined here with two others for my mother’s birthday. Fabulous vibe and dining room atmosphere with an at ease sense of calm from the FOH team. We all went for 3 course and started with some crackling puffs and caraway bread. These were both light and just enough. We all opted for a different roast of chicken, beef & lamb. All divine. The cookery is outstanding alongside a confident and not overly attentive service. The synergy of the restaurant was top tier. I had come across this place on Open Table and took a chance for my mums birthday. Happy I took it. Will definitely be back for a la carte options as the seasonality and complimentary flavours of each dish were all in status quo and well thought out by an experienced palette. Please do pass on thanks to the chefs! It's rather refreshing experiencing fab service and cuisine outside of central London restaurants for once and gives me hope that our beloved hospitality industry is still thriving. It’s certainly no secret that Terry’s secret rum punch will get the blood pumping. (Get one)

We stumbled across St Leonards on OpenTable, read a few reviews and booked a table. The reviews were true, what a superb restaurant. The food was some of the best that I have eaten, the chef puts together an amazing presentation of food. The cocktails were amazing. The atmosphere and setting was beautiful and the host could not be more genuine, polite and obliging. We will be back for sure. A great place for a get together or date night.

This was our first visit. Generally we thought very good although the Kefflar? chips were over salted and our steaks, whilst perfectly cooked, were far from hot. Worst of all was that we ordered a bottle of Shiraz, Yalumba ‘19, Barrossa Valley, Australia but received the 2022 vintage instead. When we pointed this out to the waitress we were informed that the year was subject to availability but it was admitted that this was not specified on the wine menu! Still worse we were charged the same price as the 2019 was listed at. Clearly, a more recent year, should be (significantly) cheaper. An underhand con trick worthy of referral to trading standards. Take care.

I have to say this restaurant oozes elegance, fine dining and the most relaxing ambiance to enjoy food. The dishes were exquisite, the service second to none and the staff such a team. We had Maddy as our server and she was absolutely brilliant. She added to the amazing experience of this evening. It was lovely to see the bosses behind this magnificent establishment on the shop floor interacting with the guests and supporting their team members. It certainly added to the customer experience. I would highly recommend everyone to pop in if they are in the area you will not be disappointed. I for sure will be back.... Thank you Tony & Terry..... My birthday this year is definitely one to remember.

We visited recently to celebrate my sister’s birthday, as always the food was incredible! The staff are really accommodating and friendly and the cocktails are a must try (I highly recommend the blood orange and vanilla cocktail.) We look forward to returning soon.

So glad to have St Leonards back, it's just as amazing and as impressive as it always has been. We choose Sunday Lunch and although it's not the cheapest Sunday lunch it is without doubt one of the finest and best you'll find in Kent. No Sunday is complete without a visit

First visit for us. Well worth it. Lovely decor and ambience. Has a “normal” wine menu and a “fine wine menu”. Some fantastic wine on there and stupidly cheap prices. Service was a little slow, but staff friendly and food was excellent. Will be back soon.

What a lovely restaurant, took my mum here for her birthday on the 24th December 2023 and we had the most amazing breakfast. The staff were so attentive and welcoming , the food was delicious and the overall ambiance of the restaurant was relaxing.

I really enjoyed our meal here, the festive set menu is truly delicious and offers great value. The turkey was super and the Christmas pudding was the best I've ever had. The service was ok (12.5% service charge) but I drop a point because when paying a lot for service you may expect water to be topped up, a check back on main course to happen and spoon given when eating soup- none of this happened hence not 5 star but I know the managers here will continue training their team , perhaps our staff were new.

Only additive might be cherry tomatoes all other elements were perfect. The apple juice was superb and slices of apple in it as a bonus. Toilets very clean and staff helpful and efficient.

Great ambience with plenty of light where our table was yesterday 14.4.23. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Food which was well thought out was absolutely delicious - a delight to the eye and palate. Will definitely recommend to family and friends😊

What a great find! Had a one night stay and dinner when on a road trip. Lovely room with comfy bed, great bath and shower and all amenities. Despite being above restaurant and on the street it was very peaceful and we had a great sleep. Enjoyed a lovely dinner, good menu choices and delicious crab, mackerel, lamb and sole. Puddings fab. Then had an amazing breakfast this morning. A really great restaurant with rooms which we would highly recommend.

Fabulous meal we had the set menu which was very reasonable for the standard and quality of the food. lovely atmosphere and wonderful staff. Nice to see local wines on the menu. Look forward to the next visit.

Looking forward to our annual wedding anniversary night out we ventured a short drive to St Leonard’s. Lovely looking restaurant in nice location. However we were a little disappointed to be placed next to a large group so any hopes for a romantic setting we expected were dashed, it was too noisy there was no dress code and for our special night unfortunately this was falling short. The meal in general was nice but not to a fine dining standard. Not that it was the foods fault my wife began to choke on her venison, she recovered quickly but it was a scary moment, when the waitress came over I explained what happened and she had the attitude that as long as the food was ok then everything is ok. Not at any moment did she ask if my wife was ok nor did she offer any help. When we came to desserts my wife’s dessert, the sticky toffee pudding was hard not enjoyable. The 3 course meal with 3 drinks came to a rather pricey £164 I would say this was an £80 meal at best. Nice but not what it pretends to be sadly. Service was fine very polite and we was presented with a token box of 3 petit fours which was nice that at least our evening was finally recognised as an anniversary meal. Shame it was left to the end and we walked away slighted underwhelmed and somewhat disappointed
