As popular as ever Proper old traditional pub with great well kept beer at reasonable prices £3:30 for a pint. Old 1066 is a beer to behold. Such a friendly pub, great staff and landlord, also reflected in the clientele. Splendid all round Unbelievably just gets better. From Eccles it's well worth the 20min walk to Aylesford for an excellent inexpensive pint and traditional convivial company. Foot path between Eccles and Aylesford now clear A serious template for a successful pub. Autumn Green Hops beer always a hit, get it while can

What a cracking little pub. A real Little Gem of Aylesford. I have only given one star for food because it doesn't do food. Just bar snacks. Having said that the fish and chip night supplied by the Howes fish and chip van is great value and lovely food and I would give that five stars. This is served every other Thursday but best to check on their Facebook page. The staff, including Izzy, Chloe, Graham and Niall are all a barrel of laughs and great friends and a credit to the Gem. Fantastic landlord Oli who is also the landlord of The Bull at Ready Farleigh that do a cracking Sunday roast. He also runs Drakes in Maidstone and The Walnut Tree on Tonbridge Road. Can't rate The Little Gem highly enough although, in a way, I don't want to share in case it gets even more overcrowded!! Fantastic prices but probably best avoided if you only drink lager. This pub is devoted to serving the best Goacher's ale (locally brewed) and Turners ciders as well as wine and spirits. We have made some lovely friends that are locals and many have become true friends whom we share time with and we hope the Little Gem carries on its tradition and stays open for ever!! Well done everyone who is instrumental in making this out favourite local xx

What a lovely little pub. Dating back some 900 years it may be small but full of character. The ground floor houses the bar and fireplace and wooden stairs lead to an upper floor which overlooks the bar below. Lots of small brewery beers and ciders are on offer here and I imagine that these change all the time. You won't find a jukebox, fruit machine or TV here, this is a traditional pub where people go to talk to each other over a drink the way it used to be. I found the customers to be friendly, within five minutes a couple had spoken to me They have a fish & chips night fortnightly from a mobile van that parks right outside. It looked good and I kind of wished I hadn't already eaten. There are a couple of tables at the front if you wish to sit outside. There are toilet facilities. Parking is around the back just a few minutes walk. Watch your head as you enter, people were not so tall hundreds of years ago!

I phoned beforehand as I wasn’t sure if they did food. I left a message and got a call back the next day saying they didn’t, apart from sausage rolls, which I had and enjoyed with my pint. I wish they had a loyalty scheme because since discovering this kebab at the beginning of the year we’ve ordered multiple times a month. My boyfriend says it’s the best mixed meat and chips w garlic sauce he’s ever had which is high praise bc he’s eaten ALOT of kebabs in his time. He gets it 9/10 times when at mine and even loves the salad which was a shock to himself. Tbh I’m not sure if he’s more excited to see me or get charcoal grill anymore.. I’ve also tried the chicken doner, zinger burger and chicken kebab wrap, all have been delicious. The meat is never greasy always fresh flavourful and filling. The service is faultless - although local we’ll call them to place our order for collection and they’ll have it ready within 10 minutes. We’ve also had it delivered twice in record time. Eating their kebab is truly a heavenly eye-rolling experience to sit and enjoy, that sounds dramatic but don’t judge me until you’ve tried. My bf will regularly say that no other kebab, or takeaway or me for that matter comes close anymore. And sadly our bank statements can attest to that.. so well done CG for taking our money and stealing my boyfriend 👏🏼 please don’t ever close because I’ll never hear the end of it.
