The best restaurants serving Default food in Thame South South Oxfordshire South East

The Bird In Hand is the name given to the bar inside the large marquee at Chinnor Rugby Club, which also serves the benches alongside one side of the pitch. Club members get a 15% discount on prices, but these are pretty good for non-members as well. On our first visit we sat outside but it was a windy day ! But it was good to see the Rugby club open and hopefully they will soon be able to start playing regularly again.

Best fish and chips in area. Portion size larger than average.

We went here for breakfast on Sat 12 Oct 24. There's not a lot of seating but we did get seat quickly, the breakfast was delicious lovely in every detail no complaints at all. We were on our way to Brighton and this was an overnight journey breaking stay hence to say next time we go to Brighton we will be calling here again no question.

Lovely home made panini with brie, peppers and tomato chutney. Came with a little bowl of what tasted like home meade coleslaw and some salad leaves. Son had sandwich with tuna and red onion and also came with coleslaw. Really good value and very tasty. Would def return next time we are in Thame. Very pleased to have found this little gem of an eaterie!

Been to Monkey Puzzle a couple of times now and their coffee is excellent. It’s going to be my go to for coffee now. Great outdoor space for when it’s nice weather and perfect for the dog. The staff are so friendly and every time we visit we feel welcomed. They sell some nice gifts too. 5 dots!

I've been for a drink several times to the Rising Sun, but this was the first time actually dining in. I'm also aware their takeaways are very popular due to their fantastic dishes. The dining area is unfortunately limited to three tables which does make it reliable chance to get a free table. They do offer food in the bar area but personally I like to sit at a proper table. Therefore, I HIGHLY recommend booking at table. The menu, is very varied with each page having a dedicated type of dish, beef, chicken, duck, seafood, vegan etc etc. The food came quickly and was to a high standard. I can see why their takeaway is so popular, as I'd love to work through their menu, dish by dish. My friend and I had a variety of cocktails and mocktails which were great. They have a very varied range of drinks to fullfill everyone desires. You may at this point be thinking, why isn't this a 5 star review. The unfortunate reality of the building, is that they are limited by their dining space. This severly limits capasity and potentially make it (if busy) very loud.

Came in for a £6 skittles bomb it didn't even have much alcohol in it with it being triple sec 20 % and redball I'm sure it's normally Cointreau 40% and red bull. We couldn't even taste the alcohol so we left 😂

Delicious food and lovely staff Dog friendly too

Worst Domino’s I’ve ever had, no taste what so ever barely any toppings.First and last time.

Unfortunately for us, we had a group of 8 seated in the back next to a very happy group that was so loud we could barely hear, and the serving staff seemed flustered and overwhelmed. Food was slow coming and two out of the orders were so poorly prepared they required attention from the staff.

A good menu, well cooked (and one the best steak and ale pies I have tasted for a long time). Pleasant venue with atmosphere. Imaginative wine list and well-kept beers. However, the high spot was the service. The service was faultless; friendly, welcoming but also efficient. We will be back, and maybe stay over next time.

The Rising Sun is our go to for Thai food, never had a bad meal and we return at least once a month. Do try it, you won't be disappointed, but do book early for a Fri or Sat evening. The amount of clientele is a testament to how popular it is.
