The best restaurants serving Default food in Newport Central Isle of Wight South East

As Aussies we are critical of coffee as our culture is addicted to it. Here we had a coffee we were amazingly thrilled with. It was a REAL COFFEE with flavour, depth, texture and truly made with love thank you Emma for creating the best coffee we have had in the entirety of the UK xx

Such a fun place to go! The service was exceptional and the waiter was very attentive. The food was good depending on what you got. I can’t complain overall but some elements were better than others. Game choices were amazing and some incredible snacks and drinks on offer!

Hewitt was recommended to us by another pub on the island (who don’t do roasts!). With a recommendation from a chef we had high expectations… Hewitt didn’t disappoint. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, from the minute we arrived to when we left. There was more than just roasts on the menu, but we went for a shared feast! This was a combination of all the meats - lamb, chicken and pork belly. A huge portion of roasties, amazing yorkshires (nearly as good as mine!), fantastically prepared veg and pigs in blankets! Mash and cauliflower cheese were also included . It was a seriously huge serving for two and we bought home. Good sized doggy bag! But the size didn’t come at a cost to the quality… the pork was so tender and soft, the lamb flavoursome and the chicken moist and chickeny (as described by my husband!). It’s a well presented restaurant, has a lovely ambience and well worth a visit!

What a cracking little spot😎 Be aware: your food is all freshly prepared, packed with flavour and quite delicious, but it does mean it takes time to arrive👍 Enjoy the ambiance - nice to see the place busy on a Tuesday evening when we dropped in 💪 Thanks very much: we will return 🎉

If there were 10 stars, I would have chosen them. 👏 Terrific food, wonderful service, made our birthday treat unforgettable. Thank you to you all. 100% recommendable by us. Dorado was absolutely delicious, and my seafood platter was unforgettable.

If you like real ale and small quaint drinking place this is good.

We ordered some cheesy chips, battered sausage and chips sadly the chips are just not edible, never seen such dry hard pieces of potato being sold as chips before, waste of £25

A fantastic spot I often go and have breakfast at on a Saturday.

45 minute wait for a cheese and tomato sandwich and a burger! Sadly the food was not worth the wait nor the cost. Expensive in my view. Would not recommend based on my personal experience.

Ali (with the braids) was extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The whole venue gave great service and the food was outstanding. Will deffo be back!

The building stood out among the run down shop fronts, it must be haunted with the age of the place, it definitely drew me in, lovely girl on the bar, we managed to get in just before they stopped serving food, I had the Tag Bol (Tagliatelle Bolognese) and my partner had the Steak and Ale pie, proper home made grub, reasonably priced and they even offer light bite portion options on some of the meals, a place I won't forget and hope to revisit.
