It was very busy but the staff really tried to do their best to serve customers. Great food.

The food was sooo good. I would definitely recommend. The ambiance was really lovely, perfect for dates and group dinners. The service was prompt and friendly. I had the fish stew and seriously, the food was amazing!

We were early on a Sunday as a family of 6 with two young children. The food was outstanding and the portions very generous. All the staff were very pleasant and attentive. It wasn’t busy when we first arrived however it was when we left. Would highly recommend!

Amazing Place where you can find the real Italian atmosphere. The food was amazing quality and prepared really nice from the chef. The cocktail was amazing and compliment for the service.

We really liked the place, open until 11pm. There was no problem arriving without a reservation, the staff is very friendly and the music is Italian. The food seemed salty to me. However, the portion is very good and in relation to the price.

We arrived after 10, it was cold and we were starving. Even though we were late the staff were friendly and fabulous. The chef stayed and made us a delicious meal. We’ve eaten @ Da Vinci before and been impressed with food and service. Highly recommend. 😍

Very Good food and service, one of the top restaurants we found on the Isle of Wight

We had a meal there Thursday evening. I had paella which wasnt great as the seafood particularly prawns were rubbery and over cooked, but what really should have set a red flag to me but sadly didnt were the mussels. It was strange at the time as half of them were boiling hot and half were stone cold. I stupidly ate them. Literally 3 hours later I had violent stomach ache, the runs and being sick which has carried on until today saturday. I have been there several times in the past but getting a dose of food poisoning because of the way the food was cooked and delivered has definitely made sure I unfortunately won't be there again :(

the atmosphere of da vinci really is beautiful, but the food is simply pretty disappointing. me and my partner came here for a date, my starter was parma ham which was beautifully done and i had no complaints about that whatsoever, however the main (i have regrettably forgotten the name of it) was very disappointing, especially for the price. it was cold in the middle as if it had been microwaved, and from where we were sat we had view into the kitchen which was quite offputting. if it hadn't have been for the fact that a tip is mandatory here, i would not have tipped.

I've been here multiple times the food is awesome ,our lovely waitress was attentive and freindly and the wine list is comprehensive. All very good in my opinion.

I had the day special it was a seafood plater it had 3 types of fish,2 types of prawns and lots of shall and I had a mushroom risotto it was nice but the seafood was way better and I also had a Margarita pizza it was nicer than most of other pizza I tried. It also had some nice Italian music

I hesitated to walk in at 5.30 for dinner because it was empty, but was lured by the Italian music, tidy look, and smiley waitress. Ordered Salmon and Prawns in creamy sauce - AMAZING. As in, London and New York standard. Don't hesitate.

The only thing which wasn't amazing about our meal here was that this excellent restaurant deserved to be busier. The food was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. My tastebuds were coming alive even as I ate the bruschetta which was tasty and perfectly crisp (not crunchy) on the outside and soft on the inside. The staff were very attentive and it was lovely to chat to the owner too. If you're looking for somewhere to eat, this is the place. And nothing to do with this restuarant, but made me smile. I began speed reading, and just last night I read “The Da Vinci Code” in fifteen minutes. I know it’s only 4 words, but it’s a start. How I Mark I may mark differently to some other reviewers, some might see this as harsh, others may see it as fair. But here's how I look at it: 5 star - WOW. I want to go back and look forward to doing so. They delivered everything expected and more. The 'more' is normally about the service or attitude of the staff. 4 star - GOOD. They delivered everything I wanted and a bit more. I recommend them and would go back. 3 star - OK. They delivered what I expected, I would go back if I needed to, although don't currently plan on doing so. 2 star - Not very good. I didn't get what I expected and the service wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. I might get dragged back here, although will always try to avoid it 1 star - This was rubbish. Don't go there, I certainly won't go there again. I didn't get what I wanted, the people were unhelpful and I didn't enjoy it in any way.

Whilst visiting IOW went here for dinner. We all had different meals all of which were delicious. All the staff were attentive & friendly. Compliments to the chef

We had 6 meals hear. we work all over the UK and this meal..... was the best I've had anywhere in the UK. Everymeal was hot when presented. tasted amazing. 100% a must visit.

The atmosphere was nice, even though you might feel a bit closer to the other tables. The staff was polite and quick to respond. The food was good, but nothing special compared to the price. I would say it is a bit overpriced for what you get. Overall, a good experience.

Fabulous Place . Should be 10 stars , this place should be packed day and night . Sadly Newport is in decline , many shops empty . Had wonderful stone steak and Lamb shank . Beats other top restaurants and we’ve been to many .

This is the 4th time ordering and my pizzas have always been cold my garlic bread and chips were cold this time I also ordered a cheesecake that tasted like absolutely nothing

I’ve eaten here on a few occasions. The food is ok, not out of this world, but I return because I like service from staff and the atmosphere is nice. The only downside to the experience is that 10% service charge is unable to be taken off. (The owner/manager) has refused on both occasions I’ve asked. Usually I don’t mind paying a service charge but on this occasion I just happened to ask if it goes to the waiting/kitchen staff. The answer is no, it doesn’t. I was informed I could leave an additional tip on top if I wished to thank them for their service. Our meal cost £160 for 2 including the service charge so I didn’t feel inclined to leave more money. I agree with a service charge for large groups but fewer than 6 feel it should be discretionary. I just feel that customers should be aware that the service charge does not go to the staff. And the staff, especially Callum, are fab and work so hard.

How do I start food was amazing staff are super funny and charismatic really made our experience here truly amazing. I would recommend the tiramisu my piece could honestly of fed a family of 4. I’m not complaining.

We were let down by Deliveroo with our order however, a wonderful man called Callum from the restaurant, personally delivered our food! What a lovely man and the food was gorgeous. Thank you Callum😊

The best meal I had on the island during this trip the scallops were a good size and the portion of stuffed Belly pork good. It would have been better to open the wine at the table.

We popped in for an early evening meal, whilst on holiday on the island, without booking, and we were made very welcome. The staff were very obliging and helpful and the food was delicious. The scallops starter just melted in the mouth! The entire meal (3 courses) was tasty and very well presented. Will definitely return .

Their pasta, best in Portsmouth. Other high rated pasta in Portsmouth is all below Da Vinci. No one in Portsmouth can beat Da Vinci for the pasta.

Low grade, high volume generic Italian. Plenty of salt and mot much flavour. Kitchens don't seem to know the difference between spaghetti and linguine.

I had only ordered a risotto and was very pleased in the way it had slid down my throat, it brought me back to my teenage years, the sensations I had felt were beyond immaculate, the presentation was far beyond any restaurant in the world . I will definitely be visiting again 💋🧓

Am not sure I have words to explain this feeling. The food was wow. The price was a bit on the high side but it was worth it. Each bite was WOW. Went with family and the environment and service was very good. The waiter explained the food we didn't know what it was about and was patient with us. The drink menu had a lot of options to it. Food one: Fresh linguine frutti di mare Drink: Cocktail pina colada Food two: Fresh spaghetti Funghi Other food we had were; Pollo involtine Spaghetti cabanas Spaghetti bolognese

Just wow.. Fantastic food.. At last a restaurant you don't need to season your food, because it's perfectly seasoned.. The restaurant was recommended to us by a good friend of us... And he was absolutely correct.. The interior of the restaurant is very modern and looks great.. The staff were friendly and helpful. We just showed up (it's our honeymoon) and we where seated straight away.. But I would recommend to give them a call prior just in case and to reserve.. The price of the food was perfect considering the quality. We look forward seeing you again either this holiday or the next one to the Isle of Wight.. Best regards from the honeymoon couple 🤗

Arrived 5:30pm to a friendly welcome, nice selection on the menu plus a specials selection. Chose scallops and Thai fish cakes starters which had plenty of mixed salad. Could not fault them! Mains followed, saltemboca steak and stuffed chicken breast which enjoyed perfect accompaniments, we were too full to try the excellent selection of sweets though. Accompanied by Multipulciano Reserva, very very satisfactory.

The Portion size of starters is even great. We ordered onion soup with the name hearing it for the first time we wanted to try it out and were little skeptical honestly but the taste was just splendid and the portion of so heavy that we couldn't even finish it. We had the seafood platter as when is another great choice to have from the menu.

We had a family of 4 adults and 2 kids, so thankful that they took us in so close to their mid break ( closed between 3 -5pm). Very beautiful restaurant and fabulous service from our waiter Callum ! Kind, assertive and made both kids smile!! Food was really good, tasted very good, just the volcano prawns could be more spicy but the taste was on point! Drinks were really lovely. Really enjoyed our meal and would go again if ever in the Isle of Wight again.

We booked weeks in advance and were bluntly greeted at the door by a staff member who was clearly having a bad shift. The two younger staff were great but the more senior member was full of sarcastic comments, slamming things around and generally unpleasant. It's a shame because the food was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend it you enjoy a good steak.

Went there for a date night with my other half. Service is good and food is great. We had the steak on hot rock. It was an interesting experience. Would definitely visit again. Only downside was both of us strongly smelt of steak. Our little girl even noticed the strong Smokey steak smell on our clothes.

Went along for a mothers day meal, and as ever the food is beautiful, service always with a smile and a very welcoming relaxing place to eat. Lovely added touch of flowers for all Mums. We have been many times now, for Xmas parties, for birthdays and anniversaries and now mothers day. Always a pleasure to be here and looking forward to going again very soon.

This is our second time for a special occasion. 1st was Christmas day, second being Valentines. Da Vinci does not dissappint and serves food and beverage with exceptional service and standards. A perfect intimate dining experience with a family feel to it. Food was divine, full of flavour and plentiful. I highly recommend this venue. We will most definitely be back and telling friends and family to book here. Can see this place becoming a go to restaurant that will be a popular and a favorite listing, not only in Newport, but island wide. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Went with friends on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is beautiful and welcoming. The food is absolutely fantastic. Really lovely menu both food and drinks. From wine to cocktails...Steak served on rocks to fish and pasta. Lovely comfortable chairs and a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Cannot rate the food here enough, every dish we ate was acceptional, fresh and mouth watering. The restaurant was extremely busy and service was lacking consitency. Over all it was a good experience by all.

It's Sunday night, staying at #oneholyrood hotel, it's dark, freezing and we didn't want to go far .... Da Vinci's was perfect. A delightful waitress, Wine at the perfect temperature, delicious Kleftico and tagliatelle de mare. Can't recommend more highly.

Shocked. Not in a good way. Walked in on my own, was told the slow cooked Kleftico would take 10 minutes, server didn’t even offer an aperitif, had to ask. 5 minutes later a jug of water was ‘dumped’ on the table And a party of 8 was getting their drinks before me. At nearly £30 for the Kleftico and the starter which didn’t arrive in a timely manner, I had the general feeling that the evening would go further downhill, I cancelled my starter. The elder woman started saying they were busy, unless I am blind, there were about 10 people in there. I did explain that I am local, it’s the first time I had been there and would book for next week but initially not impressed. She said ‘fine, whatever’…like a bolshy teenager. I am absolutely disgusted in fact. I walked out. To go further, they have lost a local customer for life. The Slug and lettuce this evening matched my needs at a third of the price, but more importantly I was shown courstesy, respect and great service......- at least it’s value for money and service and courtesy shown. And no need for indigestion pills!!!!

Wow, what great food and service here. The food was freshly made and perfectly cooked, there's nothing like perfectly cooked pasta! The desserts were 10/10 too. The servers were all friendly and attentive throughout our visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience so will 100% be returning and would recommend this restaurant to all.

Wow! What a gem this place is. Me and my husband are holidaying and just stumbled apon this restaurant. The food was so delicious we ended up back there the next night. Best risotto I have ever had. My husband really enjoyed the cook at the table fillet steak! The meant so really soft and tender! Very formerly staff and the decor inside is beautiful. Highly recommend!

One of the few restaurant who was kind enough to cater to 14.5 filipinas (0.5 is the lovely little girl with us). They sat us together in one long table. The owner made our colleagues birthday memorable as he asked one of his staff members to sing. They played the happy birthday song inside the restaurant and everyone was surprised. Everyone (including other restaurant diners that night) sang along, clapped and wished our colleague Happy Birthday. Along with the merriment we also had delicious food and drinks served to our table. I had the seafood platter. The scallops were massive and succulent. The fish selection was amazin. All seemed very fresh. With all the seafood in the plate, drippings accumulated and there I was wishing they served it with a toast to mop up the juicy seafood goodness it gave away. 🤣

A good restaurant with meat and scenography in the presentation of this very good dish. The only small flaw (if we can call it that) is not having a small plate nearby to place the meat that I didn't want to leave on the grill. Apart from this everything perfect
