The best restaurants serving Default food in Caversfield Cherwell South East

The food was really good. My steak and Ale pie was one of the best I ever tasted! Great staff, professional and friendly. Super quick service.

Lovely staff and locals, plus a great atmosphere. The best pub for miles around and they get the best food trucks visiting so you can get a superb meal as well! They've got a huge beer garden with space for kids to play when the weather is nice. The pub is right in the middle of lovely countryside so would be a great place to finish a hike.

First time to this restaurant and most definitely the last. Went on Saturday night with grandson and girlfriend. First impressions looked good, bright and colourful with a busy atmosphere. We were taken to a booth which was nice, I noticed though looking up at the gold coloured wall that it was very very dusty. This place is not worth paying your hard earned cash on. The food was just about average, nothing to rave about. When the bill was presented at the end we were shocked to see the total. The bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc alone was £73 ! So ok on checking the wine list it was priced at that, my fault for not looking, but who would even expect to pay that in a grubby basic restaurant that had bare tables, no tablecloths, paper serviettes and on arrival given the menu which is a piece of paper and a pencil to tick your choices in the boxes. No niceties here, we noticed written in red on the top of the paper that they reserved the right to sometimes ask for payment before the meal is served too……what’s that all about! On top of paying the price of a bottle of wine that one would perhaps expect to pay in a more upper class restaurant, paying £27.90 for two of the starters and being charged for four extra bowls of rice which we never ordered they then stuck a further £22.40 service charge on. We are totally against paying service charges choosing to tip if and when we get service that goes the extra mile, we had that charge removed.……..then removed ourselves, this is one grotty restaurant we will never be returning to!

We were visiting Aardvark Books and beginning to feel overwhelmed by the sheer choice on offer, so stopped for coffee and cake. You can sit in (surrounded by books) or outside, all very comfortable - good coffee and lovely home-made cakes - I had a traditional Victoria Sandwich and my other half had Lemon Drizzle. Our food and drink was served on an eclectic mix of vintage china ware and it was all very relaxed.

A Costa employee named George went above and beyond when we visited. My daughter spilled her hot chocolate and was close to tears. George wiped/mopped up the spillage, comforted her with some humour and then replaced her drink (complete with extra marshmallows!). Fantastic personable service that is so.rare these days.thank you

We stopped for lunch here and a lovely day. We ordered Burger & chips and pie of the day with Mash . We also had 2 soft drinks. Both meals were nice although the pie wasn’t as hot as maybe it should have been. The veg was also a little hard for me but that’s personal preference. What I didn’t like though was I’d checked their website for choices and prices before we went and there wasn’t anything about a 12.5% discretionary charge added to the bill. It did say on the menu we were given but a bit late when you’re there and already asked for drinks . Also, this 12.5% is also added to drinks and NOT just the food. So £8.66 for 2 soft drinks . Yes, you can ask them to remove it , but they rely on you being too embarrassed to ask or simply not noticing the add on. What happened to being able to leave a service charge if you wished to and also choose the amount you wished to leave. And yes, I did ask them to remove it. So by doing this also on drinks, what’s the point of displaying prices if you’re going to add to it anyway.

I ordered a traditional pasty should of been called a potato pasty there was barely any meat I there should be bits of steak for 4.95 for a small pasty is a rip off

Good food and really lovely staff!!

Stopped to charge the car. Store was closed due to a card fault so used the drive thru! No issues. Went to the door to see if they would let our daughter use the toilet (it had been a long drive). The rudest old lady was sat in her Modus outside stuffing her face. Stated she was a member of staff. We asked if they could let us in so our daughter could use the toilet - her growl/reply "No - we are not a services love". Then back to stuffing her face!!! 🙄

I’m an have driver who’s away Monday to Friday and I don’t particularly like fast food but tonight I fancied a kfc and I asked a young server called katy for help ordering my tea. She put through exactly what I wanted instead of the self ordering screens and was really helpful. I know some places get slated but tonight I was so impressed with her service so a huge thank you to Katy.
