Chow Asian Kitchen in Cherwell

Ordered Sticky chicken noodles and 3 duck spring rolls. Nothing special about the spring rolls but nothing wrong. Sticky chicken rice tasted like someone had put a whole jar of lemon curd in there. Went to exchange it for a side instead but could only swap it for more lemon. Said no thanks and threw my 8.50 in the trash. Won't be going again.

Terrible attitude of the lady serving there. I was there for the first time and I needed some advice on what to order, what set to choose or maybe a promotion. Unfortunately, you can't count on support. when I approached this place I was wondering why there were so few people there... now I know. I shopped there for the last time.

Food was really good and served with a smile. They even let me try out three different curries befori could choose. There were several halal options as well and it was freshly prepared and reasonably priced

Really nice food! Much better than the usual motorway stuff. I had the green Thai chicken and rice with some pumpkin croquettes. Would come back again.

Rice was disgustingly over cooked, soggy and clumpy. Made me feel sick to be Frank. The sweet and sour sauce was passable at best but incredibly reminiscent of that from a jar from tescos. Duck spring rolls were okay but I’m certain they were premade frozen ones. Over priced for what it is, but even if they gave me it for free I’d have still not liked it. Wouldn’t recommend, wish I’d gone to Burger King which is saying something.

Was ok, nothing special. I originally planned to have Thai green curry but turned out they had run out of rice. I queued for a while as they was taking away empty bowls and leaving me waiting (they could’ve served me and the ladies behind first then carried on with this). When it was my turn they said ‘oh we have no rice’ which meant I had to change my option as what I wanted wouldn’t have gone well with noodles. I opted for the sweet chicken teriyaki which was nice. The ladies behind also wanted rice and the woman serving bluntly said ‘well rice is cooking it doesn’t tell us when it is done’ no apology or anything. Service could’ve been better and found it to be quite overpriced.

My partner had katsu chicken curry with noodles from here and really enjoyed it. I might have it next time.

Chicken teriyaki too sweet, but the sticky rice lived up to its name. I think too pricey as well. If i had enjoyed it, i wouldn’t have minded the price, but fell short for me and was not able to finish it, so ended up feeling like a waste of money. Would perhaps try something else next time.

Never disappointed with a chow. Great and healthy food, great service and never to busy . The katsu chicken is unbelievably good

Lots of rice. Very little chicken. Overpriced. Very salty. Not very tasty.

Ilekroć parkuje tutaj ciężarówka zawsze biorę jedzenie z Waszej restauracji, bo jest najlepsze, więc na swojej trasie wybieram właśnie ten parking, Obsługa była zawsze miła i pomocna dla kierowcy z innego kraju nie znającego doskonale języka angielskiego, ale zawsze się dogadaliśmy i dlatego chętnie do Was wracam. Niestety do dziś! Po raz pierwszy była za lada młoda dziewczyna, która była zwyczajnie chamska i bezczelna!!!!! To, że nie mówię dobrze nie oznacza, że nie rozumiem jak się do mnie odnosiła. Pracuje na serwisie, na który przyjeżdżają ludzie z całego świata i swoim zachowaniem nie zachęci do zakupów. Zapewniam, że jak na nią trafię, to swój wocher wykorzystam w innym miejscu.

Really friendly staff. Pumpkin katsu curry with rice is really great. Not so keen on the thai curry but just my taste.

I enjoyed the proper chicken katsu curry but this is now changed to chicken "nugget" curry instead.. very disappointed.

Ordered large sweet and sour chicken. Literally, probably worst I ever tasted. To describe, large portion gives you just plenty of rice, with a bit of sweet and sour chicken on top. Chicken was tasteless - plain, and they literally put uncle bens sweet and sour sauce equivalent. Taste is subjective, but this is just insult compared to all the real Asian sweet and sours.

Very poor. Arrived at 12:55, was told they aren’t open but would be 5 minutes, 5 minutes later told by someone else they weren’t open but would be in 10. Still not open at 13:15. Saw at least 8 potential customers try to order and be told they aren’t open for another 15 minutes. Wouldn’t recommend, very poor experience.

Fabulous food experience. Simple, quick green curry (gluten free) with rice was delicious. Served with a smile. Allergen menu immediately accessible and lots of options. Delicious. One of our best motorway services experiences because of Chow Asian Kitchen.

I’ve had a takeaway Thai Red Vegetable Curry with rice on two occasions while staying at the Travelodge next door. I’ve also had their Vegetable Spring Rolls and a Pumpkin Fritter. All were tasty and well cooked and as a vegetarian I will choose to eat from here again, no problem. As a Travelodge customer I have the advantage of 20% discount which helps. Prices are as you would expect at a motorway services, expensive. The main issue with this outlet is they seem to run out of noodles. Then customers get annoyed, take their bad mood out on the staff and then, understandably the staff get a bit down and defensive. A bit of patience and some better organisation would help everyone have a happier experience.

Over priced. £7.45 for only 4 tinny piece of chicken. Not worth. Should have gone next door to KFC. Staff didn't understand English well which really make it difficult to place order.

Not enough souche, price for rice too expensive.

Overpriced for what it is the food isn't bad but not great either.

Easily the best of the food outlets at Cherwell Valley services. Delicious sweet and sour chicken with noodles. Chopsticks supplied if you want them.

I had the katsu chicken and it was genuinely as good as I’ve had in local restaurants, and considering the location, the price was reasonable.

Overpriced sauce slopped on rice or noodles - teriyaki chicken was way too sweet.

The service was quite effective and the food tasted allright. This is an allright solution if you wish a quick and quite tastey meal.

Food was hit,service prompt-disappointed in the spicy sesame chicken as not spicy and had hints of sweetness to the sauce.A let down☹️

Quite a nice change and looking at the display got my taste buds going. It was ok but not out of this world and there was a long wait. I was only able to wait because I was staying at the Travelodge.

Had the Katsu Chicken Curry, even for a regular meal, the portion was plentiful. Probably the best food place in Cherwell Services.

It’s amazing how much rude staff can totally affect your experience of a place. My family stopped off here 31st March. The guy who served us was moody, unclear, didn’t look like he wanted to be there, no ‘please’ or ‘thank you’. Nothing. If I behaved like that in my job, I’d be put on a warning. That service was not acceptable. Very average food - the chicken noodle soup was extremely bland and was left. Fed up of average food served by rude staff. Sort it out.

Terrible! One of the worst meals I ever had at services. I ordered chicken teriyaki that didn’t taste and didn’t look anything like a teriyaki chicken. You would expect something better for the prices their charge. I hope they won’t last as their food is simply awful.

Amazing authentic Asian food at a UK Motorway Service Station! Other restaurants in this chain also have five out of five star official food hygiene ratings. There is an amazing choice of Thai or Japanese cuisine including curries, soups and sushi, When I enquired about the Penang dish I was given a sample portion to try, It was served in a tiny container with a small spoon to match. What a helpful answer - for me it was too sweet and so I opted for what I knew, A green Thai curry. It was one of the best I have tasted and was excellent value. A very friendly welcoming smile and help in making a choice from an interesting and varied menu.

The food was okay although very salty. It’s good if you want to pay £6 for a box of cheap noodles and about ten tiny pieces of chicken sitting on top.

Nice chinese food. Had better in town kind of plain but great sides!

If you want a quick hot meal and are tired of American hamburgers, this is a decent alternative. You can choose from noodles and rice, and an array of curries and other sauce/meat combinations - especially chicken dishes, that seems to be a favourite with this place, although vegetarians can find some choices here as well. Dishes aren't exactly full of meat or vegetables, but the flavours are very good. And you certainly get enough to fill your stomach.

Very difficult to recommend unpalatable food given the more authentic and locale friendly options in adjacent stalls.

I asked the lady if the pumpkin katsu curry was vegan and she instantly knew what I was talking about and handed me the allergen book incase I wanted to check anything. Food came was piping hot in a large portion, and the pumpkin katsu was lovely. Bit too much rice compared with the katsu; however this is true in all fast food places I believe.

What restaurant has no food at 7.30pm? This one!! Nearly all dishes on display empty and not going to be replaced
