I recently went to the Trigger Pond on a whim and … my, my — am I glad that I was feeling whimsical on this occasion! The food was stellar, and I had excellent service from the strikingly handsome, yet flamboyant, staff member by the name of Alfie. I do hope to return and be served by him again, as his cocktail making skills were second to none!

Delicious pizza, currently on Tuesday 2 for 1 🙂 Staff friendly and efficient. Recommended!

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here and it was delicious. The staff couldn't do enough for us to the point where Zoe came running out to help us find parking. A very good start to a lovely lunch.

Our go-to pub, everytime. We have never been disappointed. Occasionally we'll try somewhere else but always end up regretting not going to The Trigger Pond!! Awesome food, awesome service, cosy and warm atmosphere, great cocktails. I see people mention it being pricey, I disagree - more than worth it.

We came here as it had been recommended to us. It had a great atmosphere, the food was excellent and the staff were fabulous.

We are a family of 9 including a toddler who visited yesterday December 27th. Half our party was late due to the horrendous traffic and thick fog but this did not phase your exceptional staff. We were treated to first class customer service throughout our visit and enjoyed delicious food and drink. Wish we lived closer so we could visit more often and would definitely recommend your glorious village pub to friends and family. Thank you to everyone we interacted with between 1215 and 4pm yesterday.

Unfortunately having to change my review was 5 stars. Used to be a place I could easily recommend but really didn't feel like somewhere worth going to for the price any more unfortunately. Went for my wife's birthday which was booked well in advance and got placed by the bar on an oversized not particularly clean table for just the two of us. There were a number of Xmas parties booked and it feels that these all took priority over anything else. Was really hoping for a lovely evening but just all felt a little deflated after. Food was okay but the non-xmas menu felt a bit lacking.

Staff are positive and friendly however food does not match this. Very average stale roast

Went to The Trigger Pond on 14th Dec with family. Had a great evening, the food was fantastic! I had the chicken and mushroom pie - best I've ever had. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a warm and cosy atmosphere. They are dog friendly so the dogs could even join us too.

Had a great roast dinner here and highly recommend this place.

I don’t usually write reviews but I could help myself with The Trigger Pond! Excellent Sunday Roast Dinner, the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The atmosphere in the pub was amazing and the decor was warm and welcoming. 5-stars all day and we will definitely be returning!

What a lovely country pub this is. Came across it last minute and they managed to cater for us with the most incredible roast dinner we’ve had in a long time! Great service, food and the atmosphere was lovely - can’t wait to return!

Lovely little find just a few miles outside Bicester highstreet. Took my grandma for lunch and we had, starter main and pudding and each course was lovely. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive. Will definitely return when im in the area, and grandma has found a new local place to go out to eat. 100% recommend a visit. Dog friendly too!

What a super pub! Absolutely loved it. Staff are friendly and attentive and efficient, the atmosphere is welcoming and the decor is inviting and comfortable. Between us we had soup, wings and prawns to start, all fantastic! Main courses of fish and chips, pie and pizza followed by sticky toffee pudding and brownie. One of the nicest pub lunches I have had for a long time, absolutely recommended.

Excellent service excellent food

Went for dinner for my dads birthday dinner. I have had multiple people tell me how good the food is here and was extremely disappointed. They had to shorten the menu due to a problem in the kitchen, which was fine. But it meant we couldn’t have the things we had planned on having. We ordered a starter of bread and oil/ vinegar and olives. Olives were really nice, but the bread tasted funny…. Was meant to be focaccia but really didn’t taste like it. I had the pizza and so did my partner, it was a bit gummy and very oily and greasy not a normal amount as it was dripping off. The chips were not nice at all pure oil and no potato flavour. We had the Cajun chicken burger and beef burger, chicken had no flavour at all for a ‘ Cajun’ one. Wanted to complain but didn’t, wish we had when we saw the price and £20! Service added when they had forgotten our water and had to ask twice for the music to be turned down as it was so loud I couldn’t hear anyone talking. The garlic bread was bland and tasted like it was a microwave meal. It was below average and I was very disappointed. Safe to say I won’t be coming back again.

This Iconic Historic Pub provides exceptional quality dining with attentive table service in a relaxed atmosphere. The homemade Steak Pie was delicious with perfectly cooked vegetables. I highly recommend this lovely Pub.

Despite positive reviews I found the Sunday lunch below average but very pricey for what it was. The beef was beyond rare, it was raw and had to be sent back, the ‘veg’ was just a bowl of cabbage and the roast potatoes were rock hard. Service was excellent but the conservatory looks quite tired with fake plastic flowers and fruit hanging from the ceiling. 12.5 % service automatically added was a bit of a surprise and not worth it.

Just popped in for a couple of drinks but was hugely impressed by the level of service. Attention to detail was second to none and they made us an outstanding cocktail that wasn’t on the menu, as per our request. Incredible staff that were very attentive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend! A good walk from Elmsbrook!

Great standard pub food and atmosphere.

Excellent food, very attentive service by the young staff. Would have been 5 stars except for the fact that we were hit with a 12.5% service charge which was not immediately apparent from our reading of the menu. We had unknowingly left a tip on top of this.

£7.50 for 4 literally 4 Halloumi fries! I know life has got expensive but £42 for 5 drinks and a poor portion of Halloumi fries. Stay away.

Ordered the pot of sausages as a starter and the sausages came in a bowl. I made it very clear that I wanted the sausages to be served in a pot when ordering but my request fell on deaf ears. Our waiter mentioned some internal dispute with the owner regarding how the sausages should be housed when served. The burger was good but was let down a touch by a slippery tomato which I removed and ate separately. I could have put the slippery tomato in the bowl that the sausages were served in but decided not to as this may have escalated the internal feud between the staff. Decor feels like someone had a good afternoon clearing out the reduced to clear aisle in dunelm.

Just had a lovely meal at Trigger Pond, staff were amazing, efficient, friendly and worked so hard making the experience special. On the table next to us, as soon as the guests left the cushions were all plumped up and floor cleaned by dustpan and brush and any marks removed. I can recommend the Ham, Egg and Chips & the burger looked scrumptious too. Lovely July evening for the 2 for 1 Fish Friday and sat in tge garden area Thank you Team.

Went for Sunday roast to share experience with my Chinese family. Great portions, tasty food, pub full of life and people, and staff were friendly and very accommodating. Only negative is that parking is very limited space.

Came for a Sunday lunch with a girl friend. Hadn’t booked a table but they found us a lovely cosy spot next to the fireplace. The atmosphere was amazing, the place felt relaxed and the staff were so welcoming! Food was served quickly, my girl had the gnocchi which she said was very tasty. I had the risotto which was a bit bland for how much it cost (portion size was very good tho!). Wish I had got a roast as they looked incredible!

The service during our recent visit was truly disappointing. While the food was satisfactory, the overall experience was marred by poor service. Our initial seating was at an unstable table, and despite our request to be moved, it took a considerable amount of effort to be relocated, without receiving an apology. Furthermore, it took an excessive 40 minutes for us to even place our order, which left us contemplating leaving without dining. It's disheartening to have to express this experience, particularly after having recommended this restaurant to many. I feel it's important to share an honest assessment and will refrain from further endorsements.

Just been here tonight for something to eat. very disappointing; my wife and i had calamari to start, we had about 4-5 very thin little rings each £9.00 each. For mains my wife had the Asian salmon, it was no more Aisin than i am. just a piece of salmon tasteless rice and a couple of pieces of broccoli. I had Lamb Kofta and Greek salad. basically it was 3 kofta pieces and a salad that did not represent Greek in the slightest. It consisted of yellow pepper sliced sugar snap peas a couple of olives, copious amounts of lettuce 3-4 pea sized feta cheese pieces. I think the chef needs re-training. With a service charge of 12.5% we would of been charged £67.50 and it was awful. Sadly we will not be back and will not be recommending to anyone.

We were looking for somewhere to get lunch on the way back from the Cotswolds. Didn’t have much hope as it was past lunchtime and given it was Father’s Day everywhere was busy. We’d been turned away from two pubs already. Saw a brown sign on the edge of Bicester for the Tigger Pond so turned off to give it a go. It was busy but I asked if they could squeeze us in. There was space in the garden and finally there was some summer sun so no problem. The roasts were excellent and the service was up there with the best I’ve seen for a long time. All staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming. A credit to the owners/management. Passed my #1 test - I hate waiting to be asked if I want a drink. Of course I do! I was asked before I sat down and my much needed very nice pint of Wadworth Henry’s IPA was with me within a few minutes! If I lived nearer I would visit here far too much probably!! Excellent - well done.

Not impressed. Got the impression unless you were a local they were not that bothered. Stuck on a table for two in the middle of the restaurant. Food was good.

Four of us came here for a mid week dinner, and we all chose the pie of the day, which was chicken and mushroom, served with mash potato and vegetables. The pie was one of the best I've ever had, delicious. The service and the staff are top-notch. I highly recommend The Trigger Pond.

I was recommended the linguine by a lovely young lady last Thursday night (sorry, I didn't get your name), which was superb. The 6X beer was perfect and the sticky toffee pudding to die for! A great experience and will certainly return.

Had a lovely meal here today, made to feel very welcome with our Boxer dog. Loved all the food, and very relaxed atmosphere. Thankyou, we will be back!

We had an excellent lunch and took advantage of the 2 for 1 burger deal. My wife had the chicken burger and I had the fish burger, both were excellent as were the accompanying chips. The service was excellent and the Wadworth Horizon IPA was splendid! My only criticism would be that the pub is looking a little tired and could do with a spruce up, especially outside.

Quirky boho chic pub. Beautifully lit up at night with plenty of nooks to tuck away for a quiet drink. Lovely garden in the summer. Really large conservatory in the back for larger parties

Great pub for the area. Food was delicious, portions generous. Downside is that it’s a local pub, but with London prices, so loses points on the value for money front. Decor could also use some improvement, random assortment of everything. Generally speaking, would visit again!

Food quantity for Sunday roast a bit meagre. They had also run out of things. Parking difficult on Sunday afternoon.

Gone very expensive, i.e. pie and mash £19.50. The food is generally very nice though. They used to be famous for their fresh baked bread loaf and dips, but, sadly, thats now off the menu.

My wife , grandson and I called in last night following a recommendation. I can’t rate the place highly enough, every table was full and there was a lovely atmosphere. Food was first class as was the Horizon I chose. Staff were friendly and attentive. This is a gem of a pub which locals are lucky to have . I couldn’t believe it when I saw a blonde female standing by the bar busily stuffing the salt and pepper cellars into the back pockets of her jeans before making her exit. Shame on her.

Love this pub already but visited for Mother’s Day, the place was packed, so did wonder whether it might affect the food or service. No need to worry, both were great, the food was AMAZING and the dessert was on the house due to a long wait for the main (we seriously did not wait an excessive time at all). It’s not the cheapest pub but you get what you pay for. Looking forward to wine in the garden in summer

Outstanding country gastro pub. Excellent menu choice and reasonable prices. Friendly and welcoming staff who will also serve in the good sized garden.

Very convenient for M40 with good parking. Friendly welcome at the bar. Good range menu, well cooked and presented. We would definitely return but maybe next time look to sit in a warmer part of the bar/restaurant.

Been to Bicester shopping, never heard of Trigger pond before reading a sign post needed that hangover curing food! Highly recommend was just two of us and very quick service!

Really tasty food and friendly, helpful staff. Probably wouldn't go back in a hurry though unfortunately as the acoustics of the building are terrible and as a result I struggled to enjoy my meal as the noise levels are so loud when the restaurant is not even close to full.

Had a business meeting and lunch here during January. Close to the M40 J10, so a handy venue that I have used several times. Excellent food and outstanding service - I have not known better.

We went here after reading other reviews and was a little disappointed in my dinner. Prices are higher than most gastro-pub prices so I was excited to see what my venison burger was like. The burger itself was tasty but the soft white bread bun was cheap and collapsed as I ate the burger, the chips were OK but clearly out of a frozen packet and there were no extras, apart from a piece of limp lettuce, either in the burger or on the plate such as any salad, tomatoes etc. It could have been so much better. Definitely over-priced for what I had.

Lovely roast dinner and trimmings. I definitely recommended getting the Ultimate Roast - everyone else at my table did and I felt a little short-changed 😂 The service was also great, just the right level of attentive and quick.

It's not cheap, but I think it's worth paying more for incredible food. It's a little bit claustrophobic place. Dog friendly but not enough room even to people. Old building very cosy atmosphere
