Zushi Restaurant in Cherwell

We visited Zushi for dinner at the weekend with friends and had such a lovely evening! The food is simply delicious and everyone was so friendly and welcoming! The restaurant itself has a brilliant atmosphere and we will absolutely be going back!

Definitely above average Asian fare in Banbury - I had the bibimbap which was sizzling hot and had nice pickles and charred rice bits. Miso soup was expensive and only OK. Japanese curry was fine - not the best we have had. Service v fast even at busy times and my daughter was happy about it. Prices less than expected for this kind of food. Overall a good choice.

Food here is insane, we go here for any special occasion. The service is brilliant and the atmosphere is perfect. Cannot fault this restaurant.

Chicken teriyaki was lovely and a good portion. Prawn Yaki Soba was very nice too and full of flavour, another prawn or two and this would’ve been the perfect meal.

Waited over an hour and when it came food was cold had to put it in microwave to heat up but food was nice

Great food and friendly service

Every time we've been, the food has been absolutely delicious, with friendly staff. The salmon teriyaki is a favourite of mine and tempura prawns. The jatsu curries have been fab too. My husband enjoys the sushi and donburi. We hope to visit again soon.

Although I told them 5 times I was intolerant to milk and eggs the dish I ordered had them. 5 minutes after leaving was severely ill. If you have food intolerances you know what I’m talking about.

What a gem of a restaurant. Only ever had a Japanese meal once before and that was a set meal so we were unsure what to have. The staff suggested small tapas like dishes. And oh what joy, they were delicious. We order 3 first then ordered more as we went. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff polite and friendly. We a lso thought it was great value, we had six dishes plus drinks, all for under £50. Definitely recommended and works visit!

I ordered to my home : tempura moriawase it was good but for 9.20 you can get 2 shrimps 1 slice zucchini and 2 sliced paprika 😂😂😂😂 what is a joke. I ordered as well zushi set platter good but nothing special. And the worst 2 pork ramens full with noodle and everything but bouillon even didn’t take half bowl it was not ramen it was noodle with little sauce I paid for everything 60£ and to be honest I could eat better for 5£ with Tesco sushi

We've been coming here regularly since it opened and never had a bad, or even mediocre, meal. The service is always quick and friendly and the food consistently great. I can highly recommend the Korean chicken and the dragon rolls! Definitely our favourite place to eat in Banbury.

A nice and cosy spot which is perfect for smaller gatherings as the spaces within the restaurant are quite tight - and it’s almost always full! The meals were all tasty, well-priced, reasonably portioned. The menu is also extensive which gives a myriad of choices for all tastes. I personally enjoyed the California roll, chicken katsu roll and the spicy tuna rolls. The Yaki Udon with prawns was also nice too. Nothing was absolutely astonishing but for the price it made for a good meal. The service was arguably the highlight, with very fast and friendly servers even with a 3/4 full restaurant. The food came out astoundingly quickly for our relatively large order and the speed at which it was served didn’t seem to jeopardise the quality. Overall, I would recommend for any families or smaller parties looking for a nice meal.

Becoming a bit of a regular here, the Korean chicken is my absolute favourite!! Staff so welcoming and friendly and food comes out really quick, best time we ate was a 45 minute sit down in stuffed our faces with some seriously delicious food and done!

Having lived in Japan, this is as authentic a taste of sushi as it is possible to find without getting on a plane! The staff are fantastic, the menu delicious and the atmosphere is cosy, friendly and complimentary to the splendid food on offer!

Had high hopes for this place. Bulgogi (nearly 13 pounds) came with 6 pieces of meat. Having had bulgogi many times in Korean restaurants (hot plate) in London, Vienna, Seoul etc, where they serve a regular portion, I was very shocked to see the snack size portion. They didn't mention I need to order rice separately untill after the 6 small slices of 'bulgogi' arrived. We usually had rice served with the Bulgogi. Came home and had some food.

Every time we've bujinkan seminars we going for Japanese meal after, Zushi is absolutely perfect, can't wait to come back again 😋 Domo origato 🙏 ps. Black sesame ice cream is something You must try 😋

Decided to go Japanese after hearing good reports, and boy I'm glad we did. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the choice of drinks is to a minimum, a few wines, couple of beers, coke and fruit juice, also the green tea. Ordered the starters well in advance of placing main. The salt and pepper chicken was served on a bed of salad which we enjoyed the most. Onto the mains, there was a large selection so all could try, my favourite was the spicy beef ramen, the beef melted in your mouth as it was so tender, for me the heat was just about right for me. So the big question is would I go back? That's a big yes.

Couldn't fault this place. They fitted us in quickly, despite being very busy. I had the Pork Ramen which was top notch, my partner had Yaiisoba which she found exceptionally good. The service was efficient, courteous, and friendly. We will be back.

Absolutely love Zushi, I've been quite a few times and there is plenty of options to choose from including sushi, Japanese & Korean dishes & everything I have tried has been lovely 😍 The service is always really good too & the restaurant has a good vibe, would definitely recommend.

The in house experience is so much better than take away standard. Food arrived cold and uncooked, had to throw half of it away. Portions are tiny for the price and batter tastes stale.

I've come to this restaurant several times, be it with family, friends or my partner and I have to say every single time has been an absolute hit! I've never had a bad experience at Zushi before! The atmosphere is almost always calm and respectful without being boring or lacking, the staff serve you politely and never interrupt you to ask if you're done etc. They always wait for the right moment. Now onto the food, while a little expensive (as good sushi usually is) it is well worth the price. I highly reccomend the lunchtime bentos! I have also ordered from zushi before and even then my experience was good. Overall, it's a fantastic dining experience and I will be going again many times.

the food was great and everything went fine with my order - I just wished the app would offer more frequent updates regarding the order. It basically went from being confirmed to being delivered, without any updates if it was being prepared or if it had left the shop to be delivered.

Absolutely outstanding food. I know I'll be thinking of the spicy pork bibimbap for weeks. Will be back again soon.

Restaurants tend to either have fast service or good food, in my experience - Zushi manages both. Delicious food that arrives surprisingly quickly. We ate way too much but have no regrets.

Zushi is my go to restaurant in Banbury for great Japanese and Korean food. The staff are friendly and service efficient and unobtrusive. I took my son on Thursday and we started with Teriyaki Salmon, Korean spiced Chicken and Tempura King Prawns. I then had the Bugogli Beef while my son enjoyed the Spicy chicken Dolsot Bibimbap. Both came out sizzling hot in their bowls and were delicious.

Lovely Japanese restaurant! All food arrived quickly and was really fresh, we really enjoyed our meal and the crunch rolls were our fav. The only negative is that I found some dishes to be quite expensive but none the less I would recommend and go back.

Good range of food (a small Korean section on the menu) and sushi types. Slightly limited on fish options (salmon, tuna, unagi, octopus, sweet prawn). Interestingly, comparing the tuna sashimi and tuna nigiri, the quality of the sashimi is much better than the nigiri (you can see both in the picture). Would be great if they offered a chirashi bowl as well. Friendly staff. Unlimited refills for green tea which is great. Great for a meal out, but won’t be doing it too frequently because of the price.

The food was absolutely delicious, and I had two of the tastiest meals I've ever had here. I'm not so familiar with the menu but the waitresses were happy to explain what everything is and what each dish comes with. Left a tip and the staff were very thankful for it. Looking forward to returning.

When we order for collection, it's ok and the food is good but it can be difficult to park in town to pick it up so we order delivery occasionally. But sadly we have been let down by them on multiple occasions now and this is the last straw. We placed an order today, their website said 45-60 min for delivery. We chose a slot that was 1.5 hours later, just to be on the safe side as we've had to wait that long before too... And now, they are 45 minutes late for *that* slot too, so we've been waiting for over 2 hours for a simple order that's a 5 minute drive from the place. They didn't even offer to refund the delivery fee as a token gesture and just made some excuses on the phone. Also, their delivery drivers have got lost almost every time too, even though it's not a strange location at all. We'll order from elsewhere next time. Very disappointed as the food is okay. Not all authentic Japanese (I used to live in Japan), but good enough and there aren't any other options nearby sadly ☹️

Absolutely delighted with our meal today. Came for dinner and was very surprised with how nice it was. This is not like your typical asian cuisine, but more like a traditional one. Would definitely recommend.

The ingredients are common Japanese ingredients that can be bought in supermarkets, and the taste is standard. But the service was terrible, I was left out and I felt disrespected, maybe because there are no other Japanese food restaurants in this town. Just like that, I don’t want to have a second experience, and the game room next door seems more respectful to the guests! ☹️

A great place for Japanese and Korean cuisine. We tried the dragon sushi roll (fittingly to celebrate the new year of 🐉), the soft shell crab tempura and the pork and the beef ramens, all looked mouth-watering to and tasted 💯 delicious. The portion was also generous and the bills did not automatically include any service charges.

2nd attemp to eat here. 1st attempt plenty of seats but apparently full reservation which I question as I finally managed to get a table on my 2nd attaemp. Was surprised to not see the master in preparing the sushi which is normally a standard in Japanese restaurants. The ski was as should be but the wasabi is horseradish and not wasabi and at the prices you would expect at least authentic wasabi which was very mediocre. The rice was sticky and as should be but the sashimi wasn't as fresh as it should be. The tuna was at least 3 or 4 days old and the salmon was slimy which means it was probably around the same age as the tuna if not older. Will not be returning as the price does bot reflect the quality.

Disappointed. Sorry guys. First time having restaurant std sushi only to receive rustic bland food. For £45 I was expecting high quality. The bibimbab lacked any flavour and had no taste of sesame, my pork weighed less than 5 grams. One teaspoon. Squid had dead salad. Really disappointed as wanted to surprise wife with amazing meal. Will stick to supermarket made if this is the std. cmon guys what happened tonight?
