A hidden gem, family owned pub, food was lovely, great atmosphere and friendly is an understatement

What a lovely place ,great all round,

A very quirky and cute village pub. They could possibly do with some more staff to deal with how busy it gets, but the service was with a smile and the food tasty.

Simply a fantastic old sixteenth century Inn ,dating back to the the English civil war , And full historical interest and captivating caricature of days gone by..

Very friendly and a beautiful countryside pub.

What a delightful inn. Low on fuel so stopped for a couple of pints enroute on the Banbury run. Full of character..Charming gentleman behind the bar... Landlady also most welcoming and a accommodating... Looking forward to planning an entire week in the village so as I can go there every day.

Incredible place and now one of my favourite pubs in the Cotswolds. Such a cosy atmosphere and the interior is exactly as an old Cotswold pub should be. The beer was well kept and the owners really went out of their way to make us feel at home. Really nice circular walk you can do to Broughton castle as well, which we managed with our 3 and 6 year old. Can’t wait to come back again, there should be more pubs like this!

Mad and fun as it has been for years, unique family owned, don't go if you haven't got a sense of humour 😀.

We had a lovely meal with our friends whilst staying at a cottage in the village.

Popped in for refreshments during the Silverstone classic retro run route. Landlord and Inn were 5 stars. Quality spot with real country feel to it

One of the best pubs I have ever been! Friendly landlord and brilliant interior.

If you haven't visited this pub, you're missing out! My wife and I were staying nearby and came to the Blinking Owl for dinner, and what a treat it was! David, the landlord, have us a lovely greeting and was an excellent host, sharing jokes and stories from his 38 years running the pub with his wife, Sylvia. There was an excellent selection of real ales on tap (I went for the Cumberland ale 👌🏻) while my wife had a soft drink, of which there was also a wide selection. We had dinner the restaurant end of the pub, served by Sylvia. There were the usual pub classics (fish n chips, steaks, scampi, pies, chilli con carne, salads - you get the idea). I asked for the ribeye and my wife had bolognese. I didn't really have room for dessert but I went for some strudel with custard anyway and ate the lot 😆 Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. The pub itself is one of the most quintessentially classic British pubs I've ever seen. Imagine the way pubs were in the 70s & 80s, and you're pretty much there (minus smoking and darts). The photos will paint a far better picture than I can. All in all a very enjoyable and entertaining evening and I hugely recommend the Blinking Owl. Next time we're in the area, we will be back! By the way, they do take cards payments.

Lovely family run pub that is full of character and is nestled in a beautiful village. Comfortable, warm and welcoming. Our visit was on a cold February evening and the real fire was a joy. Great food and real ale. Recommend that you book a table if you want to eat.

Fantastic, traditional country pub - like a journey back in time. Great beer, great food (traditional pub startets, mains and desserts), great landlord and landlady and a fantasticly snug decor. Pub takes card just fine, has accommodation and also has around 250 owls to spot around the place. Highly recommended 👌🏻

Very bad beer !. Tasted like vinegar & no food no card payments & got asked to leave at 3 pm with no prior notice.. I do not recommend this place...
