Lovely village pub, excellent food and service was very friendly and accommodating. Dog friendly too

What a gem! Food was super quick and delicious. Great quality produce and portions perfect. The restaurant is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. Staff lovely! I can not fault. Can’t wait to come back.

Well I won't be going back ,the food was awful ...the tomato ,basil and pesto soup had a horrible sharp but sugary sweet taste...the sandwich that came with it had the cheapest bright yellow " butter "on. ,a maximum of one slice of ham and the cheapest mustard . My 4 year old grandson could have made a better sandwich ! My husband had pie which had hardly any meat in it and the gravy was unusual tasting ( to say the least ) and sweet . I've had far superior microwave meals ! The toilets which were always an asset to the pub had gone downhill too.

Had a great meal ... Good service considering they were really busy and best of all they have Loweswater Gold to stay !

Attended a wedding on 25th May staff were welcoming and pleasant nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful surroundings, the room was clean with complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, still and sparkling bottled water plus a good selection of teas. The wedding breakfast was excellent and plentiful, and the evening food of bacon and sausage barms/rolls with chips, breakfast the following morning was full of English choice of cereals, jams, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee which you helped yourself with, my only gripe was that I and my friend ordered our breakfast with the waitress we noticed that other guests from the wedding who arrived after us for breakfast were being served their breakfast before us, we had to ask twice regarding our order 40 minutes later we got it staff were very apologetic. Every meal we had you could taste how fresh the food was and they use their own or local produce. Apart from the breakfast hiccup, I couldn't fault the Villa Levens highly recommend it I would stay again.

Extremely mean apply syrup with pancakes and LONG wait for food. Generally good quality food but mean with accompaniments and service average.

Absolutely gorgeous food here, visited a very busy place today but soon shown to a table. You order at the counter but served pretty quickly, we did wait awhile for our food but boy was it worth waiting for. Chilli chicken flatbread and gnocchi with cauliflower blue cheese & peashoots both absolutely delicious and shared banana walnut & salted caramel cake. A must visit for imaginative food.

We only wanted a coffee and a cake as it was only 11.15 AM but had to queue for 20 minutes behind people ordering hot food and spending ages deciding what they wanted at the last minute Nice stuff but it needs organising a lot better Guess as its volunteer run it depends very much on what the staffing is on the day They need a separate area for those just having coffee etc rather than a meal

Sunday lunch very poor. Initially cold before being re-heated upon request. The sirloin steak was tasteless and chewy. Overall bland meal and very disappointing. Also an unsettling quiet and subdued atmosphere despite being Father's Day.

The cottages on this site are great for self catering.

Very down side is no dogs allowed. I have caravan close by and most my neighbours have dogs but they don't visit the pub. Shame
