Extremely mean apply syrup with pancakes and LONG wait for food. Generally good quality food but mean with accompaniments and service average.

First visit, probably last. Ordered 2 coffees, 2 scones. Forty Five minutes later, order arrived at our table. Asked for sweetener for coffee, "don't have any". I think it fair to say a 45 minute wait, - is a joke. Sweetener, should have checked the menu ?

The farm shop is lovely to wander around - watch the floor it’s a bit undulating! My partner bought some sausage rolls to take away. Wasn’t impressed unfortunately. For the price the two quite small sausage rolls were very greasy (nice and warm though!) and literally two bites each. Probably wouldn’t return.

Visited on a busy Saturday as we were passing through and were pleased to get a table. My husband had the all-day brunch but was disappointed to find that the restaurant does not offer brown sauce, very much a staple for this sort of meal we thought. I had the veggie chilli, unfortunately the bowl was filled mainly with wedges and hardly any actual chilli. I had paid extra for some coleslaw and thought it had been missed, when querying I was told it was under a wedge, literally less than a teaspoon worth for a £1 extra! The farm shop was worth a walk round but was short of fresh stock during our visit. We left slightly disappointed but may try again if we happen to be passing by.

Called in at a busy lunch time, we weren`t ravenously hungry, but needed to eat. This is a lovely farm shop, with a first floor tea room/cafe. There is a lift, which is useful, my wife has painful legs, which often prevents her climbing stairs. The place was busy, but plenty of seating. I think it would be difficult for a wheelchair user. We selected from the menu, & both chose quiche with salad. The food came quickly, the quiche was delicious, however, the salad left a bit to be desired. It consisted of a few leaves, some coleslaw & some type of rice. I have to say it is not my idea of salad. I think it could be described on the menu a little differently, to make diners aware, it is more of an accompianment, rather than salad. Maybe I`m being picky. All that said, we would definitely return.

Family of 8 seated at tables overlooking the milking room. Everything you want from a holiday breakfast. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Sizergh Breakfast was tasty and filling, particularly liked their Cumberland Sausages. Shakshuka was almost perfect, the poached egg a little firm. The Pancakes very good. No complaints about the food. One breakfast was missed but immediately sorted once we pointed it out. Served very promptly. Usually have some photos but too eager to get stuck in.

Plenty of parking. Delightful farm buildings, all well maintained. We found the staff very helpful and the range of items for sale was very large. They have a lift to the cafe floor. A very rustic and unique cafe area with a view of the milking parlour below. A good range of home baking and full flavoured coffee. Prices were fair and the portions size was generous. Service was prompt.

Haven’t visited for many years and was looking forward to visiting again. Was told at the counter ‘no quiche’ left even though it was still advertised on the board. I wasn’t given a menu to look at to reorder so chose the brunch as I had seen that on the menu earlier. Drinks came and the waitress was pleasant. Tea was very wishy washy and cappuccino was luke warm. Food arrived. No offer of sauces. Welsh rarebit was small. No taste to coleslaw. Not even sure what was on the salad but it wasn’t nice. The bacon on the brunch was incredibly chewy and the sausage was cold. Nobody came to ask if everything ok. Won’t be visiting again.

Called in for a snack at lunchtime. Midweek, but very quiet, but we now think we know why!. Ordered a ham salad sandwich and an egg mayanaise. Both came with a small side of salad, but to be honest the soft seeded bap was small and not over filled. Had a pot of tea. We orderd a portion of potato wedges which were truly terrible...A bowl of skin on wedges, undercooked, coated in oil and just soggy potato. We sent them back and they said they would replace them...They did, with exactly the same thing !!. We asked and got our money back. This little lot came in just shy of £25.00.... No wonder they were quiet. We for one shall not be returning!!!

12.50 on a quiet Tuesday, straight in, no queuing. Asked for today's special, ham quiche- all gone. So I settled for a bacon sandwich and a chocolate milkshake. The sandwich was ok, crispy bacon but I had to request sauce, not offered or available. The milkshake however was terrible - even more so considering its from a dairy. Menu says ice cream, NO only milk and there is no way any chocolate has seen the glass! Nice waitress did take it away and brought one with ice cream but so bland and tasteless! Not a successful visit.

After visiting the lovely farm shop we went upstairs to the cafe , where I ordered a vegetarian breakfast and my husband had a Cumbrian breakfast, they both came on greasy plates with the mushrooms swimming in oil , the bacon was crisped and frazzled and my vegetarian breakfast also contained some bacon ,!!! I gave the not so frazzled bacon to my husband and mentioned it to the young waitress, she replied” Oh well that shouldn’t be there” ,and that was the end of that , obviously our comment was not passed on to anyone else, I would have expected someone to come and explain as to why there was bacon on a veggie breakfast ! Complaint’s obviously aren’t taken seriously ,

Low Sizergh Barn is a nice place to visit. Apart from the cafe, it has a meat counter, sells local food produce, locally made goods, cards and gifts. Not for poor people, I find the prices are a little high. Really its a glorified gift or souvenir shop with a cafe. 2 jam scones and 2 coffees cost us £14-40, which is about my limit. For a small family, cake and a drink here would be an expensive outing, but otherwise the service and quality of the food is good.

Used to love this place but the food seems to have gone downhill recently. We ordered the rarebit, expecting a lovely chunk of sourdough bread. A thin slice of white bread was not what we were expecting for £7.95. No taste of anything other than an unpleasant cheese texture on top. Still hungry after we had eaten it. Poor. Won’t be returning any time soon. Plenty of other options in the area. The one redeeming feature was the lovely cakes.

The farm shop has some wonderful stock. Could of spent fortune on cheese and bisuits! We had a cuppa and cake/scones at the cafe. The scones were the best cheese scones we've ever had and ghe cake slices were huge 😁 we saw the cows getting milked from the cafe window to which they use in the cafe if I remember correctly. You can pasteurised milk or raw milk and raw milk is available straight from a machine outside. The cattle grids to get in and out are lethal tho so take care taking your car over them!

Whilst waiting I called in the shop to buy biscuits. Only to hear an older lady morning about the young girl not at her till. No worries I explained she sorting our order. Apparently she shouldnt have !! No one else offered !! Various people them started to flap around about the drinks. Luckily another lady took charge eventually & sorted the drinks & apologised. After spending some time in lovely farm shop underneath the café, we went upstairs to have brunch/lunch with a friend and her two children. Sadly, the food was terrible. We ordered rarebit with an egg on top - a request that seemed to confuse them - and when they brought it out, consisted of one piece of cheese on toast that had only been toasted on one side, with a large dollop of salad and coleslaw taking up most of the room on the plate, and on top of the rarebit? Not a poached egg in sight (which is the norm for this dish - we used to have it at Bettys Tea Rooms when it was still on the menu) instead we had not one, but two cold hard and rubbery fried eggs. So weird. We battled through and ate most of it, however we now wish we hadn't, as it's now 8pm and we both have had stomach aches all day. Such a pity that none of the staff even came over to check if we had had a nice meal. The meal wasn't even saved by the milkshakes we had, as it tasted watered down.

Went for walk on farm trail and then coffee and scones. Food was lovely but could not eat outside as many wasps landed on the jam on our scones within seconds. Had to take shelter inside to finish our food. I know wasps are an...

£3.95 for one extremely thin, small slice of white bread not even fully covered with cheese.....very disappointing. When it was queried the staff obviously couldn't care less - no excuse as they weren't that busy.

Ordered a sausage bap. The sausages had obviously been cooked the day before and warmed up. They admitted they had no fresh sausages to cooked. Skin tougher than leather. Not sure if this allowed & could possibly make you ill

Sizeberg farm was recommended to me, had high expectations on arrival. Looks very inviting, well thought through and we loved our walk around the farm grounds and the farm’s support of mental health through gardening. Breakfast in the cafe was a let down, we both...

We popped in to have a quick look as we live locally but had never been. What a find, it's a well stocked shop. Downstairs is a well stocked food hall that sells, meats, cheeses and hot bakes. It also sells alcohol which is reasonably...

Lovely shop (fairly small though) and great cake from the vendor outside the shop. Did not try the cafe. Farm walk disappointing - took my 3 year old on this walk but turned back part way - barely any animals and lake drained. Paths not...

Perhaps I have been spoiled by better experiences elsewhere, but £8.30 for takeaway tea and a bacon sandwich containing 3 small pieces of thin bacon is disappointing.

We popped in here on a rainy Bank Holiday Monday as we had been out in Kendal and were thrsty. The farm shop is quite cute, bit quite pricey. Outside was a food stall offering hot food. We ordered 2 "steak burgers" at £7 each. The description mentioned cheese, bacon and fried onions and given the cost, I was expecting something special....What emerged was an oversized roll with a beef burger, some bacon with all the fat on it, onions and some horrid *sauce* that tasted of gherkins. The burger slid around in the roll and frankly for that money it was appalling. It was a typical £3 burger van burger only slightly larger. The hot chocolates were nice and so was the brownie, which was soft and generously sized.

Just come away after 11 minutes of sheer miserable atmosphere. Waited for them to open doors at 9am - female member of staff walked past us, no good morning. Opened door and then walked past us - I asked if we could go in to which she responded ‘doors open’!!! We had called for breakfast which is advertised as available from 9am - no breakfast in site but we overheard another member of staff telling another customer ‘we don’t have staff in early anymore - it’s only just started being cooked - will be 25 minutes! If you know staff aren’t coming in till later then change your opening hours!! We are on our way back home from a wonderful week in the Lakes. Everywhere we have been had been marvellous and staff cheery and welcoming and we have been so pleased to support these people during such a difficult time. However, our experience at Low Sizergh Barn has been awful and, to be honest, I’m glad we didn’t even get as far as ordering food as they obviously find customers a hindrance and did a brilliant made us feel exceptionally unwelcome.Disgusting customer service

We thought it would be fun to cycle over for an ice cream, but after queuing for fifteen minutes we were handed two of the smallest cornets I’ve ever seen, what a rip off. Will go to Kimi’s Gelato in Staveley next time, much better ice cream, friendlier service, and generous helpings.

We have driven past here so many times and today thought we’d go and visit. We were so disappointed and frustrated as it had the potential to be lovely. The lady who took our order was loud and harsh. I asked for a variation on the meal I wanted and she wouldn’t budge to suit my request. My husband’s meal came with stones in the salad! We had to take it to the staff as no one came back to ask if everything was ok with our meal. They said it’s because the salad cane fresh from the field - do they not wash produce? We then wanted 2 cookies to take in the car for the children to be told they had to eat them at the table! I felt frustrated at the end of the meal and in reflection thought the meal was overpriced for the size of it. We won’t be returning. I hope someone reads this review and takes onboard the points made.

Barmaid wanted £36. I said, "£36 for two puddings and a pint and a half?" She immediately reconsidered. "It's £29.50.". She printed me a receipt and said, "You asked for extra custard. Life isn't free, sir." I had indeed asked for extra custard, for which I had only been charged a pound. But obviously, people who query bar bills in the Lakes are regarded as the lowest form of scroungers.

Tempted by window display. No prices displayed, shocked at prices. Asked if I wanted vegan sausage roll warmed. Outside was warm, middle stone cold. Stodgy, salty filling. Would have preferred a Greggs. Over priced and disappointing 😞
