The cottages on this site are great for self catering.

Sadly now seems to have closed as a hotel. Stayed on Business. Its was a unique place - My experience was delightful. I felt more like I was staying with relatives who owned a stately home than staying at a hotel. The furniture was old and the décor was old-fashioned. My room was vast, with fantastic old wallpaper and amazing Victorian plumbing in the bathroom, but despite the age it was spotlessly clean. I loved the views over the grounds. I enjoyed the food. I thought it was very good value. Sad to have not had a chance to go back.

Not stayed there but attended many RSOC shows on it's grounds, which are nice, as is the hotel building. The food served is a bit ropey

Called here today after visiting another Robinsons pub nr Windermere. The pub should open at 12 but was still closed at 12:30, when we called back a grumpy old bloke told us there was no food. No wonder they had no customers! His attitude & the late opening couldnt be bothered attitude will see the closure of this venue

The hotel is not the Hilton but full of character, a lovely old building with 'huge' function rooms and restaurant area. The staff work hard and go out of their way to serve. The location is ideal for Grange and the lakes in general. If you manage to book one of their promo/deals then you are getting your stay for next at extremely good value. Our room 102 was more than spacious and spotlessly clean but bathroom needs an upgrade but still functional. The breakfast buffet was excellent but could have been hotter and the evening meal was average but nice. My only overall gripe was the bar with very limited draught lager and no cask/real local beer. Yes you could buy bottled 'Black Sheep' but the Lake District is well known for local micro brewery's etc which would be more than happy to supply the Grand. Would we return? Yes, absolutely but seriously hope that they readdress the bar products.

Great hotel room a bit rustic and stuffy but what do you expect from a 400 year old house. Room location was still clean. The beer selection was very large and tasty, just like the breakfast..

Stopped at the Jolly Anglers Inn while walking the Dales Way. It's a great little spot - comfortable, super welcoming and the food was exactly what we needed after a long day of walking. The rooms were comfortable (which was impressive with three of us in one room!) and the breakfast the next morning set us up just right for the final leg of the trek the next day.
