What a welcoming, well run little gem. Oozing with historical beauty but with a updated eclectic decor combining modern and antique furnishings, it is cosy, intimate and warm. Lovely menu, with leanings towards local produce and favourites. The staff are such an asset - young, knowledgeable and attentive, happy to accommodate any requests. Enjoyed our mains of ribeye and Lancs fish pie, followed by cheeseboard with port and Eton mess with coffee. My Eton mess a little over whisked and coffee a let down, but thoroughly enjoyed whole experience and looking forward to eating again.

We had our wedding at The Lawrence in Padiham, and honestly, it was everything we hoped for and more. The venue has such a beautiful rustic charm—it felt warm, intimate, and totally us. From the fairy lights and natural wood to the relaxed layout, it created the perfect setting for our day. Olivia, our wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing. Calm, kind, and completely on top of everything. She took all the stress out of the planning and kept the day running smoothly without us ever feeling rushed. She’s a superstar. We went with afternoon tea for our wedding breakfast, and it was spot-on. Everything looked incredible—and tasted even better. What really stood out though was the little touches. For example, I hate cucumber—and without even having to say anything on the day, the server handed me a plate with none in sight. I didn’t even need to look or ask. That level of thoughtfulness really shines through.. The ceremony space was gorgeous, the vibe was relaxed, and the whole day felt like it truly reflected us. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more. If you’re looking for a venue that’s stylish but not stuffy, relaxed but perfectly run, The Lawrence is it. Massive thanks to Olivia and the whole team for giving us the most perfect day Thank you Gary & Katie Curran

This establishment is so friendly , awsome owners and friendly clientele. I only pop in for a pint wen passing on my bike but as a stranger I always feel proper welcome cause they chat to me me whether I chat first or not. The HARE AND HOUNDS is a place to be I dont know if they do food but if they did I'm 100% sure it would satisfy

Not been for quite a while but you can tell by the number of people that dine both in and takeaway that the place remains consistent with its food etc. Only had a sandwich with sweet potato fries and salad but was plentiful, well presented and tasty. Good value for money and an excellent menu with a very varied choice as well as daily specials. Service has always been first class and would go more often if it was a bit nearer to home.

1st visit for the wife & me. Sam was the manager on the night the place was quiet to eat in on a Thursday 7pm only one other table with guests but the takeaway side was busy. Starters 1/4 crispy duck, Salt n Pepper chicken wings & 2 spring rolls. All fantastic. Main course Char Sui Fried Rice, Sizzling Chicken with boiled rice. 2 Pints of Lager & 2 halves. £70- All in. We were a little greedy & had to take a doggy bag each home. Which tasted great the day after for lunch. We recommend this place 5*
