The fat giraffe is a lovely little coffee shop in Padiham. We only bought drinks as we were escorting a service user from work. The staff are really nice. We worth a visit to treat yourself. The shop is straight across from St John's Church.

Googled dog friendly cafe mear Gawthorpe Hall and The Fat Giraffe came up. Didn't disappoint. Tasty food. Good service. Nice little cafe.

This is the local cafe I use and recommend to people, I find it a friendly cafe with lovely staff and food for excellent value. I have a little one and find that there is plenty of space and the staff are helpful. The cafe also has very good baby changing facilities. The breakfast is particularly good along with the steak sandwich. The cakes are lovely aswell.

Food quick to come but was a little quiet at the time we went. Portion size is very good.

First time trying here after our usual place up the road was too busy, Absolute perfection it was. Everything cooked perfectly on my breakfast and the sausage and bacon was incredible, top butchers produce. +1 for doing spam too! We will be back!

Was lovely when taken over by new owner, lovely girl few months ago, but recently been in with a friend and been met by another 2 ladies who aren't friendly in the slightest asked my friend if she had booked as they had a table reserved that she had sat at , they didnt smile or talk to us at all....made me and my friend feel uneasy, doubt il be returning.

Went for the first time today , had late breatfast , could not fault . 1 of the best breakfast we have had . Amazing place amazing staff amazing food . Our go to breakfast from now . 😁

This used to be my favourite place to get breakfast, although for the past year or so, I have been less than a handful of times and things have gone massively downhill. The food here used to be unreal, mushrooms seasoned to perfection, quality sausages, bacon & hash browns. Now the mushrooms are horrible with no seasoning, sausages are cheap, hash browns are cheap, and to top it off, they forgot to put bacon on my breakfast! How can anybody forget to put bacon on a breakfast? Every time I’ve bought food from this cafe recently, I have been disappointed. This is the last time I will spend my money here.

We visited the cafe as noticed it was dog friendly. Tables/floor was dirty and hadn't been cleaned. The food was ok. Pie and peas was nice. The wrap and kids meal was just ok. Food took quite a while to come out however would give this place another chance. Parking was a bit tricky. The car park just up the road was full. There did seem to be some limited parking on the road in front but no spaces at the time we visited.

Ordered steak sandwich special was eatable, the side salad was 3 pieces of lettuce a bit of onion n cucumber and cherry tomato cut into 3 !!! The cordial was room temp wasn't asked if ice was needed and the tea was taken back due to the mug being dirty. Won't be returning.

Went for afternoon tea with my mum and by gosh it was good, a good selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones with jam and cream and a cup of tea to wash it down with, but we couldn't eat all the cakes so we took them home and the staff was very friendly and I would definitely recommend going as the rest of the food looked amazing too and all not badly priced either

We were recommended the Fat Giraffe by a member of staff from Gawthorpe Hall, a nearby National Trust property which doesn't have its own teashop. What a wonderful find. I had a really enjoyable homemade soup and ham sandwich (with loads of ham in it) whilst my wife had the egg mayonnaise sandwich with 2 mugs of tea. Really competitively priced at £17.00 for the lot. Real value for money, but the important thing is that the soup and sandwiches were really tasty. I'd recommend the Fat Giraffe to anyone visiting Gawthorpe Hall or the Padiham area.

Got there just after opening for Sunday breakfast. The place is very popular and soon filled up, so glad we beat the crowds. The service was warm and friendly, and the breakfast was top notch - good quality produce, no cheap muck here! Definitely worth a re-visit.

On our way to Gawthorpe Hall and TA found us this café. We were early and took a seat by the window, café is bright and has a good ambience. Both had sausage baps and a coffee, decent quality, no complaints. Service was very efficient and the prices are reasonable.

Nice snacks and coffee. Good value. Scone, also cheese on toast. The cheese on toast was great. It was cheese on toast. Most other places ruin it with salad, onions, pickles, etc.. And no doubt charge accordingly. They need to learn from The Fat Giraffe! Well done. Also - great view out of the window to the Victorian/Gothic church opposite. Highly recommended!

On a visit from New Zealand tracing family roots I came across the Fat Giraffe by chance and what a find! Wonderful place, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Only time for a coffee and scone but if that's anything to go by the food will be yummy! I will be heading back one day!

Really good food. My daughter and I both had the hot beef sandwich with gravy, this was clearly stated on the menu. But we had a bit of a giggle at another customer who complained about the gravy.

Really great little place, I am from out the area and needed somewhere to kill some time and grab a bite, certainly will be back when I’m back this way, food and coffee is outstanding!

Visited the fat giraffe for the first time yesterday with a resident from work. Lovely place, the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, the place itself was very clean! I only got a latte, whilst the resident enjoyed his bacon sandwich with hash browns (in his words, was bob on 🤣) , will definitely be calling again! Thankyou for your lovely service x

Me and the Mrs went for some light lunch. The food we had was really tasty and excellent value. The place was clean and the staff friendly. We will definitely be back in the future.

We recently moved to Padiham and discovered this little gem of a place which has quickly become our favorite for the all day breakfast, great coffee and friendly staff. If you happen by the place, stop in and sit a spell, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Guys for always being great.

Visited with my daughter for a treat during the Easter break. I had a cold ham sandwich and my daughter had a kids sandwich box. I noticed people who came in after us and ordered hot food got their meals before us. However the sandwich was delicious and I can’t fault that. Felt it was a little pricey for what we got but I suppose that’s the way things are now sadly.

As it was the first decent looking eatery we came to, we called in here for a very late lunch after visiting the nearby Gorthorpe Hall and I'm so glad we did! I ordered the cheese pie, mushy peas and gravy and my husband had the hot beef sandwich with chips. Both meals were excellent! The cheese pie was possibly the best I've eaten - it actually tasted like cheese! The mushy peas were perfect and I was gutted I couldn't finish the lot, as it was delicious! I ordered an Americano coffee and hubby had a latte; both of which were far better than any from Costa or Starbucks, in my opinion. While ordering our meal, I chatted with the lovely lady at the counter. We laughed at how quickly my husband caved in when asked if he wanted chips. 😂 I'm glad he did as they were hot and crispy - perfect. Service was quick and presentation of the food was immaculate. It was obvious it was prepared with care. The cafe owner, Paige, came to us to ask how our meal was. It was lovely to chat to her and let her know how refreshing it was to find an independent food outlet with outstanding fare and service. We had no trouble parking - maybe due to the time of day (2.00 pm) and the weather (rainy and dull). We parked in a side street a couple of minutes walk away. It was our first visit and I'm already planning our return visit when I'll bring my Mum and aunt who I know will love what is offered on the menu. Thank you Paige and team for our excellent lunch!

We went for breakfast on a Sunday and decided to go The Fat Giraffe as my wife had heard good things. Parking is problematic as the carpark nearby was full, the street outside was full, and any side streets were full. Not the cafes fault I know. We ordered a large and small breakfast and it came pretty quickly. It was decent food, nothing memorable about it. My only gripe with it was that the small breakfast came with a slice of toast and the large breakfast cane with a slice of toast. Most places do w slices for a large breakfast. The room is functional and I didn't like the way the bench seats are roo high for the table. I'm not sure if I'd go back to be honest, as there's nothing particularly special about it.

My mum and i had an afternoon tea here last week and it was brilliant. Excellent value for money and the waitresses couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend!

Yesterday was the first time my wife and I visited the Fat Giraffe, we have heard about it, but never got around to going. It is a very nice little cafe, tastefully decorated, and very clean. The staff were very pleasant and polite, and nothing was too much trouble. I had the big breakfast, whilst my wife had the small breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection, it was a delicious hearty breakfast, it set us both up for the day. It was our first time in the Fat Giraffe yesterday, but it definitely won't be the last, absolutely loved it, we would highly recommend it.

The staff were fantastic in making my family feel welcome and comfortable. I ordered the spicy lamb burger and my cousin ordered the kids picnic. The tuna may sandwich was perfect, not soggy at all! I had the most AMAZING and FRESH proper coffee during my meal and the presentation was fantastic (better than starbucks in my opinion). The atmosphere was lovely as i enjoyed a little walk through Padiham afterwards. I will be coming back here, and I’m excited to see what new meals/desserts they come up with!! Good luck to Paige as I am aware she is new to the role and very good at making new dishes and keeping the restaurant alive !

I approached the Fat Giraffe to host a baby shower for 25 people, and they were so accommodating and helpful from the start, and lovely to talk to. Paige went out of her way to make sure we all got what we wanted. The food was so lovely, we ordered an afternoon tea and there was plenty. The cafe let us use the whole area for the baby shower so we had Privacy and the atmosphere was great, the waitresses letting us move the tables around how wanted. Would definitely recommend.

I visited with 4 school friends (now OAP Padiham girls). The food was excellent and we were made so welcome. Can thoroughly recommend this lovely, warm venue in the heart of town but with ample parking nearby. Thank you to the lovely young owner who makes THE most delicious cookies!!!

I had my baby shower here on Saturday and it was brilliant. The ladies could not do enough for us and we throughly enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely recommend.

I have been coming to the fat giraffe for a while now and thought it was time I gave a review.paige the owner is a very capable young lady and should be congratulated on her excellent cafe.the staff are very friendly and efficient.The food is home made and very affordable for the quality and quantity on offer.Keep up the good work and you will I am sure go from strength to strength

First visit , had the chicken chilli wrap / salad & chips it was delicious all other food being served looked good too .service with a smile by delightful waitress. Free car park end of block if no space outside. Will definitely be back

After seeing posts/pictures on Facebook thought I'd give it a try , wasn't disappointed, had the chicken wrap /salad & coleslaw , dip & joined at one chips which was sufficient. It was delicious, a good 20 mins travel out of my way but definitely worth it .. will be back again definitely. Free car park end of block if no space outside.

Ordered sandwiches - sausages burnt on two of them, and 'powdery' gravy on the other. Beef was okay as was an egg. Takeaway so review only based on food. Wouldn't go back, and didn't have someone else pay for them as we were so disappointed (wasn't busy when collected).

My husband and I went for an early Lunch . The food was good ( in particular my husbands cooked breakfast ) It became very busy but the service was very efficient . Prices also reasonable . Would go again.

They do a great veggie breakfast. The young girl who has taken it over is really nice. She is so helpful. She is doing a great job 👏 👍

Fabulous, delicious lunch, best BLT I’ve had, bacon crispy with fresh salad and tomatoes. Full bodied de-caff coffee. Daughter’s toastie was amazing too! This wasn't my first trip to The Fat Giraffe, but I'd seen on social media that it was under new ownership, so I thought I'd bob along on my day off to see what I thought. At first glance not much seemed to have changed. It was the same informal, friendly atmosphere, with fun pictures of giraffes on the walls and plenty of comfortable chairs and tables to choose from. The menu was already on the table, so I gave it the once over and decided on the Large Breakfast, which seemed to have all my usual bits included. I was asked to come up to the counter to order. I placed my order and swapped out my hashbrowns for a bit of extra toast. I wasn't in a hashbrown mood. I also ordered a pot of tea, which isn't included with the breakfast. My tea came first, a large steaming hot mug. I remarked that I'd asked for a pot, having seen the teapots behind the counter. Unfortunately though I was told these were only used for fruit teas. Not to worry it was a big mug and kept me going long enough to finish by brekkie. My food soon arrived and looked great. The bacon was delicious, the fat was slightly charred and cripy, perfect. The sausages were really tasty too. I learned they were suppied by Townson Butchers of brierfield. I'll have to make a trip over there and sample some of their wares at some point. The egg was fried with a firm white and a runny yolk exactly how I like them. The black pudding was well cooked, tasty and the slice was a nice thickness. The mushrooms were sliced a bit thin for my liking so I could not really get the taste or the texture of them. The tomatoes, however, were marvelous.These cherry tomatoes were like little red flavour bombs. I had to be careful with them as piercing them with my fork sent blasts of sweet tomato juice in all directions. I much prefer fresh tomatos like these than tinned ones. The beans were probably Heinz and there were plenty of them. The toast was the show stopper though. Proper hand sliced doorstops at least an inch thick. Next time I'll ask for extra butter, two pats just didn't do it justice. Sauces if you need them were Heinz and HP and in sachets on the table. So my verdict. I'm glad I revisited this place. The new owner certainly knows how to run a wonderful little cafe, and I would definitely recommend a Full English Breakfast at The Fat Giraffe.

I had a fantastic meal at The Fat Giraffe today, the first of many to come. The Buttermilk Chicken Burger is to die for, tasty with a decent portion. The cafe is very clean and has a lovely atmosphere, a must visit :)

I didn’t go into the shop so cannot comment on surroundings but the person who went in said it was pleasant enough. Got takeaway coffee. Was supposed to be a latte but it tasted and looked like watered down hot milk. No taste of coffee whatsoever. Coffee is my benchmark for food standard so I won’t be returning. Local competitors are much better

Good choice of food from the menu and special board, good service also dog friendly. We opted for the Ploughman's Lunch which came on a large wooden board, an excellent, plentiful meal complete with two excellent coffees, very much recommend, good stop off point when visiting nearby Gawthorpe Hall.

Love coming here, the breakfast is fabulous and they are extremely accommodating for my elderly friend when we visit. The staff are lovely and it’s very reasonably priced. Highly recommend it for hearty home cooked food.

My husband and I had been to visit nearby Gawthorpe Hall and wanted some lunch so we searched and found this place. We were served quickly and both ordered Sandwiches, Scone with Jam and Cream and Tea. My ham and tomato came on the most tasty cob style brown roll with crisps, salad and coleslaw. My husband ordered the egg mayonnaise on white which he said was yummy. The scone was delicious and most importantly the tea was served in a nice large mug with its own teabag and separate milk. I much prefer this to a tiddly tea pot and small tea cup. The staff were friendly and the prices were good too and I believe they do an all day breakfast menu too. Highly recommend this place

I visited the fat giraffe with my family for afternoon tea. Staff were really friendly & the service was great even though the cafe was busy. The afternoon tea was good value & everything tasted really nice. They were also very accommodating of dietary requirements and made me a separate gluten free afternoon tea that was really tasty. Unfortunately we didn’t have any change on us to leave a tip but they definitely deserved one. We’ll definitely be visiting again!

The giraffes drew us into here with my son a big fan - but it was the food that would bring us back. We all went for different versions of the all day breakfast and my son said it was the best meal of the entire holiday!

Soup, sandwiches, yummy cake selection & cups of coffee. £15 total which is good, I always come here regularly now, I can't fault the homemade food, attentive staff & excellent service to customers always. Thank you for today even though you were soo busy all day, you continued to provide a lovely enjoyable customer service, highly recommended by myself to anyone!
