We've eaten here before but rocked up on spec tonight prepared to be turned away if they were busy but we were accommodated quickly despite them having a big party coming in. We had to wait less than 10 minutes and we're given a complimentary glass of prosecco, very thoughtful and great customer service, we really felt valued. Food was fantastic as usual but it's the service that makes the difference. Relaxed, valued and well fed, what more do you want? Especially with all the new restaurants in Sunderland who are charging ridiculous money for boring food Thank you Marcello's you are a Sunderland success!

Food was good but overpriced. Most upsetting was the time it took for the kitchen to serve us. Waitress was helpful & pleasant but caught in the middle. Either systems poor or need more kitchen staff....waited nearly an hour. Shame because it's a nice place but bit overpriced.

We stopped for a hot drink whilst in the area on business and the assortment of delicious looking cakes and savoury items on show looked amazing. We restrained ourselves and had an almond hot chocolate and a banana nut latte and both were really tasty. Staff were really friendly and it a warm and inviting place to go. Would go again if in the area.

A beautiful 18th century pub which oozes charm & comfort both outside and inside. The bar staff were attentive & very helpful. Ordered drinks & Sunday Lunch. Drinks served very promptly & chilled. We ordered Beef Sunday Lunch, and One Lamb. They arrived promptly & beautifully presented. The Lamb was melt in your mouth, vegetables amazingly fresh & tasty & gravy full taste with the light crispy Yorkshire Pudding. The Beef was beautifully cooked & succulent & all vegetables, Yorkshire Pudding & Gravy superb. The Dun Cow is a sun trap outside & moved outside to enjoy the sunshine & another drink. It made for a beautiful afternoon & very relaxing. My compliments to the staff & kitchen for beautiful food & drinks & a warm & friendly charm as well as the beauty & history of the architecture, inside & out. We will be back often.

Visited Keel Tavern for lunch over the weekend. The place is stylish and feels very upmarket. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. I ordered the pie, chips and peas. There were a variety of pies but I opted for the mince, Guinness and onion pie. The pie was absolutely delicious, bursting with flavour and complimented nicely with the gravy that accompanied the meal. The chips were tasty and the peas were fresh. This place is certainly worth a visit, meals were well priced for what you get and very filling.

I eat here often as i work locally. I find the choice of food to be varied and look forward to the welcoming smile of the Owners/Staff. I believe this is the best 'Sandwich Shop' in Sunderland and would highly recommend.
