Visited while visiting family in the area, made a reservation but on the way to the restaurant we got caught up in all the road closures that were put in for a race. Not knowing the area, struggled to get the sat nav to go round the road closures. We phoned the restaurant to say we would be late and they were fine and said not to worry. On arrival though it was Sunday it was not as busy as I thought it would be, the race probably put people off. The server was really good when we explained we had a dietary allergy in the group, they brought the alternative menu and talked us through it, they also went up with us to the carvery to ensure we picked the correct options. This was great service which you do not get everywhere, although not life threatening it can cause issues if the wrong thing is eaten. The food on the buffet was okay, some of the veg was a bit overcooked for my liking but it is was fine. The restaurant was showing signs of wear and tear and was obviously a popular place. We entered the car park the wrong way round, entering in the exit, it was a good job no one was exiting, the signage was not that obvious and as we had not been there before we were unaware it was a one way system. As always you know what you are going to get from a Toby, and this one did not let us down. Would recommend anyone in the area to visit if they are in the mood for a roast.

Went there last Sunday a week ago for a roast. Was lovely and cheap and cheerful. However, the meat was a little dry but I would never have expected Michelin star.

Had a lovely visit with family after travelling all the way from North Carolina to see my mum and my Aunt and Uncle. Carol was a fab server. Carol was attentive. Carol came and asked if there was anything she could do to help. Carol was polite. Carol was kind. Carol was lovely. Carol should get a raise. In fact, Carol should get a day off, preferably a Sunday 😀

Beautiful Sunday lunch, really enjoyed it. Carol gave such a friendly service. Even asked us if we needed our drinks refilling. Carol is a credit to your company.

Carvery was terrible not that much selection of veg and had cheese pasta on as a side instead of carrots everything was cold and undercooked

Never been out for Christmas dinner before (usually cook) but omg, why haven't I done this before. Absolutely amazing. The staff were run off their feet but service was spot on. Expect a booking for next year. Wonderful.
