The best restaurants serving Default food in Bank Top Darlington North East

This my second time here. I went with my friend Tony. We were welcomed on arrival. Our drinks ordered and brought to our table. We both had a wonderful pint of Tim Taylor’s Landlord Our order was taken and delivered quickly. Presentation of the meals was nice. I had pork medallions my friend had braised Ox cheek The food was so tasty and perfectly cooked. We were full but still managed dessert Staff were friendly and attentive Highly recommended. We will be back

Food is absolutely delicious. Fabulous freshly made pizza and chips. Catered for vegan with a lovely pizza. Highly recommend the chips. Great service - will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal in lovely surroundings. The staff were great and food was really tasty. Desserts were also fab with a good selection on offer.

I visited last week. The shop had good reviews and was fairly close to where I was staying. I bought haddock and chips. The main problem was a soggy, greasy batter. This had soaked through to the meat of the fish so it no longer retained its beautiful whiteness. The chips were mostly small and hard. One of the worst fish suppers I've ever had. I'm from the North East of Scotland and am used to excellently cooked fish and chips.

Food was cold, the quality of the shish kebab & burger not great. Disappointing

I know Happy chef are closing down soon but that's no reason to never answer the phone for delivery orders. The food is nice and reasonably priced but after being a regular customer for some time you'd expect them to carry on as normal until they do close. If they no longer want to deliver then I'll just have to order elsewhere.

Excellent food, we ordered Prawn Dupiaze, Chicken Jalfrezi, Mushrooms Pilau Rice & Garlic n Cheese Nan bread. Very good value and tasty.

Oh dear 2nd time I have ordered 1st time lovely meal and too hot to eat on delivery tonight food so cold and steak tough that couldn't eat it

New chef and my son said how much he enjoyed his pizza and was so tasty. The staff are amazing as always! Very happy with service and the atmosphere.

Excellent visit so friendly including for dogs. Ice cream was delicious, service was great. A return journey will be needed. Suitable for families great park

Great local Organic Farm Shop with a wide selection of fresh produce and its own Organic Butchers. Handy on-site Post Office service as well. Staff are always helpful and knowledgeable about the products and very welcoming. A great place to get your weekly supplies and have a coffee while you're there. Well worth a visit.

Absolute cracking pub, the view of the river out the back is lovely, can imagine it being a good sun trap! Only thing I wish it done was some pub grub food to accompany the beverages, doesn’t have to be fine dining but just some sort of food menu.

Food and staff are second to non. Practically family now Im in there that much. Unfortunately for me. Fantastic old school cooking as well as healthy and special options. The savouries are famous and so they should be, sometimes get a savoury with my meal. Your not from Darlo unless you’ve had a savoury in your life. The girls/lads all bully me and only reason I keep going back. Ultimate breakfast or the Roast dinner with extra fried roasties are the one. Simon needs to pull his socks up when Im in though. Thats my only fault is our Simon, he knows what I mean! ;-) thanks for always looking after me. Also opens at 8:30 which is good for someone up as early as I am and needs feeding properly!

My experience at b & h was a masterclass in how to disappoint your customers. As a computer science teacher, I value precision and efficiency, and this chippy did neither. Secondly, the promised chips were more of a soggy, lukewarm mess. They had all the appeal of a floppy disk – limp and devoid of any crisp satisfaction. Overall, b & h was a frustrating and forgettable experience. I would have gotten better results from writing a basic code to generate random bits of fried food. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this chippy!
