The best restaurants serving Default food in Wingate County Durham North East

Great little cafe right at entrance to woods in Peterlee. Perfect to pop into before or after walk. Friendly staff and great choice of food at very good prices. The cafe is also next to ponds (gated for safety of little ones), wildlife gardens and bird feeding areas although dogs aren't allowed in this area so I didn't get much of a look on this visit.

Food good - £35 Thursday steak night for 2 steaks and two drinks. Rib eye steak excellent, sirloin steak good, chips average, salad and presentation very poor. Service good and quick - unfortunately all I will remember is that the food was served on a plate that was too small and this spoilt our experience. Plate was an inbetween size, half way between a dinner plate and a side plate. Either way it was very annoying and all I will remember in 6 months time is that we were served on baby plates.

Just got back from a lovely evening at The Grove, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly and professional. The restaurant is beautifully designed and the standards are very high. Will definitely visit again. Well done team.

Had chicken tikka masala, chicken pakura , onion bhaji ,and they gave me extra cool creamy mint sauce , plz don’t change your recipe on all yr food 10 out of 10 😁

Variety of tasty food available - a nice place to pop in for breakfast or lunch! The staff are friendly and helpful. It doesn't take long to get served and prices are reasonable.

Went to a 70th birthday party had excellent service

I firstly want to say a huge thank you to Cam the owner. Your customer service is 2nd to none. Having wrote a poor review last week, i was suprised when u phoned to talk about the review. U listened, u were pleasant and very apologetic. Not ever had any business owner make the effort to contact me and find out about my experience last time. It shows u care n want yo make things better. Point extra for that. You promised us great food and you surpassed our expectations tonight. Chicken Kiev pizza and a vegetarian pizza were spot on. Plenty of topping, pizza base cooked to perfection. I asked if u would cook chips till crispy and you delivered perfect chips, uniform in size with fluffy insides but crispy on outside.....wow! You sent us chicken tikka and it was so nice that it was wolfed down by us all before we even had pizza boxes open. We will be back. It just shows that some owners do listen and want to rectify any issues the customer has. Thank you Golden Fisheries for what I'd say is definitely best takeaway weve had in years.

Great food tonight. King prawn starter was great as was the belly pork. Can’t wait to go back. Service was the best too. My friend enjoyed her gluten free pasta. I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was delicious.

Mash was lumpy and very peppery, roast potatoes were so hard could not cut with the knifes provided, coliflour cheese was mushy. The lamb was fantastic, rest of veg OK, desert very average.

Not usually a complainer but after waiting 1 hour and 50 minutes my food was cold... the wrap had been in the tinfoil that long it was really soggy and all if the food fell out... it didn't taste like bread anymore as it was soaked through and the cheesy chips were like rubber and stone cold... the seaham branch, never had a bad meal yet... they need to fetch peterlee upto standard as it's pulling down the name unfortunately

This is our favourite place. We took some friends last night and they said it was the best Parmo and Caesar Salad they had ever had. Food is lovely, very relaxed atmosphere and staff are great too. It is a hidden gem and I would highly recommend a visit. You won’t be disappointed!

Pizza was very dry , ordered chicken Kiev and had no garlic taste at all

Shocking service, they took payment from my 15 year old sons card, and said payment hadn't gone through, despite being shown it had come from his account. They said it always happens as they have a problem with the Internet and it would make 2 days to refund. The "manager" was extremely reluctant to apologise and I had to practically force him to give me head offices number. It's a shambles of a place, Inow understand why there was no one in there.
