The best restaurants serving Default food in Wingate County Durham North East

A little haven after a long walk around the Dene, this place was just what I needed - warm and toasty with lots of delicious treats. I grabbed a table and ordered at the counter. They have a number of cold and hot sandwiches on offer as well as daily specials. I was lucky enough to catch the home-made corned beef hash and cheese scone special, which was a comforting and tasty wintery delight. I paired it with a pot of green tea and an empire biscuit for my sweet tooth. Which was lovely. Lush spot with super friendly staff that make you feel very welcome, I will certainly be back again soon.

Just got back from a lovely evening at The Grove, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were very friendly and professional. The restaurant is beautifully designed and the standards are very high. Will definitely visit again. Well done team.

Had chicken tikka masala, chicken pakura , onion bhaji ,and they gave me extra cool creamy mint sauce , plz don’t change your recipe on all yr food 10 out of 10 😁

Variety of tasty food available - a nice place to pop in for breakfast or lunch! The staff are friendly and helpful. It doesn't take long to get served and prices are reasonable.

Very poor. Being one of the only decent places to go in Peterlee we have had many meals here, but tonight was very disappointing. There were 8 of us and although I know some places ask for deposits & pre orders for large parties, we were here in January as a party of 7 and no deposits or pre orders were required. The food tonight had obviously been sat under heat lamps waiting to be served, sizzling fajitas had no sizzle, where other tables that ordered fajitas were obviously freshly made as plenty of sizzle to be heard on the other side of the restaurant. Featherblade of beef was tender but dry on top, mashed potato tasteless and dried up tiny carrots. One of us had the pasta arrabiata, this was also dried out and no sauce! Desserts were just as bad, chocolate fudge cake was dry and tough for a cake probably zapped too long maybe in the microwave and the galaxy caramel brownie was like a brick! All in all terrible experience of food and definitely will not return. Not sure if under new management, but the service was also slow, no one asked if we wanted any more drinks, plates were sat in front of us for too long when we had already said the food was bad! Very sad for this place as has always been good in the past.

Absolutely amazing, customer service is fantastic. We order the same golden special pizza and they make it exactly how we like it! We never go to any other pizza/fish shop now as this is our fav. Can honestly say we have never had any issues and the foods always been amazing. Recently we have been giving a few other items on the menu a go and the burgers are also fabulous! Great value for money and great customer service.

Great food, large portions, cozy atmosphere both inside and outside. Great place for various occasions...

Thought we would give it a go since changing hands. My food was barely warm and chips were scrappy pieces that looked warmed up. Nobody came to ask if food was ok so no opportunity to say something and have it changed/replaced Needless to say we will never return. Disappointed

Great staff, wonderful menu, phenomenal food

Order from here most weeks as our weekly cheat meal. Food is always piping hot and top quality! Staff are great. Never once had the need to complain.

My pancake was raw, I still ate it cos I was hungry. It wasn’t even what I ordered. The server was good to a degree, but he started calling bingo numbers, I’m not sure why. My stomach a bit funny after, I don’t know if I was just scared I ate raw egg. I give it 2 stars.

Ordered on Just eat - Which i hate doing. But couldn't contact restaurant. Made order and paid. 20 minutes later got a text saying they had cancelled my order. No reason, No explination.No food arrived. I wouldn't recommend ordering from here if you want to receive food. Saying up to 2 weeks to get my payment back - luckily i have other money to buy food.

Unfortunately someone is using very little kfc spice there. Food is plain and tasteless. Can taste Mainly flower. Been 2 times and still same no kfc standard taste. Only chips are fine.
