Wingate Tandoori in County Durham

Originally we were disappointed with the service we received when ordering but unfortunately they had issues due to staffing problems but we're very apologetic and off a discount on our next order which was greatly appreciated

We have just had a takeaway delivered. It was delivered on time, piping hot & delicious. We will definitely use Wingate Tandoori again.

I ordered my first take out for nearly 4 years. The gent on the phone was polite and friendly. The food arrived in just over half an hour and was delivered very efficiently. The 2 meals were hot and incredibly tasty and were huge portions. I will definitely be using you again and highly recommend.

Fantastic Food, Prepared and Cooked Well. The taste is always first class and compares to restaurant quality ingredients, no corners cut with cheap cuts of tasteless water filled meat. I order off peak times so have always had a prompt delivery. Staff are very friendly and efficient too. Can highly recommend.

Chefs special starter was nice, garlic king prawns in onions and peppers was so yummy and melt in your mouth. The chicken in the curry was a tad overdone but overall still a decent curry with the onion pilau rice.

Best Indian takeaway . Food is so tasty and delicious you will definitely be back for more. I had chicken shabna for the first time and it was very tasty . We also ordered Chicken Korma,mushroom pilau,egg pilau and peshwiri Nan.The food is top quality and was piping hot and generous portions.We will definitely be using this takeaway more often.It was worth the money £20 with delivery.

I had not tried this Takeaway for a few years as my previous visit was a very poor experience. Having read recent reviews I decided to give it another try and was very much impressed. Although I only had a main meal and rice, both were very nice. Service was prompt following my phone order and it was ready to collect. I will try other dishes in future to see if the improvement is maintained, but all in all I am greatly encouraged.

Best Indians ever top quality food with top service to never a disappointment this place has been here for a long time and reputation speaks for its self. Recommend to anyone who’s looking for an excellent Indian food.

8th February Ordered a takeaway to collect. Chicken Rogan josh (extremely bland - worse than out of a jar) egg pilau rice again (very bland and very greasy). Garlic naan bread was quite chewy. First time trying won't be back i'm afraid. Peterlee tandoori is so much nicer will stick with them in future!

Wingate Tandoori has been long established now, which says something about the standard of the food. If you are not sure about Indian food, ask advice from the staff and they will cook any meal to your preference. Our favourite Indian takeaway.

This is by far the nicest Indian around. Tonight's meal was so incredibly delicious I could order another. Haha 5+++ stars from me. (And I've had Indians all around the world) Thank you guys.

Excellent choice Excellent service Excellent food Ordered three meals, one with meat two without. Please to find out we could get everything off the menu without meat. All delicious All ready for collection when we got there. Will use again soon

I love this takeaway. They’re so accommodating. Happy to do curry sauces without any meat/veg in it for the picky eaters. Well priced and always beautiful food. The chicken tikka masala is a firm family favourite and I love a good cheese naan. Can’t recommend enough!

our fav takeaway, nothing is any trouble, know us by first name, make us feel like VIP. that aside, the food is amazing, absolutely amazing, never has a bad meal ever. Anan is so friendly and helpful too.

Been using Wingate Tandoori now for 17yrs and I have never had a bad word to say about their food always tasty and plenty of it. Balti chicken and Keema pilau are my absolute favourite, if I moved away I'd find some excuse to come to Wingate.

Recently moved to the area & was looking for a good indian takeaway & got reccomended to give this one a try. I'm very pleased I did! It's been my 5th visit & it's now my go to indian. Always consistant quality.

Used this takeaway for 15 years and can not fault it whatsoever, the brothers in the front are so helpful and genuinely friendly, the food second to none they have been very consistent for 15 years.

We use the wingate tandoori and it never fails to deliver the food is always of consistently high quality although the delivery times are sometimes a little longer than some people would like it is always hot and very tasty so my suggestion would be to order early and you will be more than happy

It's not the cheapest Indian takeaway, but it's worth paying the money. This takeaway is better than some restaurants we have been to. It's consistently tasty - the tikka masala is my fave, but most meals are really good. It's our go-to takeaway on a weekend for the past 2 years.

OMG how dissappointing, gristle/carcus in the wingate special rice, chips greasy and never had a madras that colour in my life. No heat in curry even the dogs would not eat it. Will never ever return and will always visit my local indian takeaway in the future. Would highly recommend this is avoided.

This is a takeaway but couldn't resist writing a review anyway. The quality of the food is excellent - plenty of meat and very tasty. Staff are friendly and courteous. My favourite Indian takeaway.

This takeaway is like eating in the Best INDIAN Restaurant Fresh ingredients Very warm welcome and a great varied Menu thought it was slightly expensive until I tried worth every penny
