I've had to go with the 1 star due to our visit today, went to reception where a unhelpful idiot told us she didnt know the price/cost of any rooms and couldn't tell me anything information regarding cost, just keepet repeating please go online , yeah sorry just go on line I don't know , yeah sorry but I don't know , yeah I know I work here and I'm on the front desk and take people's payments and book things but no in any help we then called the number on Google later where the woman who answered still couldn't tell us the price of the room when we give her date , then we went online where we got told it was not responding, so still no idea , we called back again then as where discussing the room , the woman on the phone said, oh someone is waiting at my front desk I must go mid conversation and just ended the phone call , so if I owned that hotel, I would clean house and start again because I have no idea how much customers you have lost today and future , I wouldn't be planning a wedding there with a hundred customers they can't respond to simple questions or explain situation of there in house protocols to customers 🤯 There mother's would be disappointed and Jesus , the front desk woman looked like she was suffering from gonorrhoea

Had amazing rump steak in this friendly pub. Great staff, excellent ale and brilliant value for money. Informed about allergies- ideally let them know in advance for specifics.

How rav has not won a Michelin star for his divine delicacies I will never know

Ordered medium rare sirloin steak, recieved a well done steak and certainly wasn't a sirloin cut either, but rest of the food and service was totally fine, need to understand cuts and cooking times if you want do steaks properly.

We had lunch at the South Causey it was excellent . The young man who served us was very friendly ( unsure of his name but we were on table 41 at 12.15pm) we will definitely return 🥰

Popped in with no booking for Sunday dinner. Service was great got seated fast and it was chilled and relaxed inside the building. Sunday dinner was ok, small portion of over cooked veg to share and had to ask for extra gravy. I got lamb which for the price I thought was bad as there was an only a few small slices. The dinner came within minutes of ordering so I’m guessing they have it all plated up ready. Wouldn’t rush back we I think for 2 dinners and 2 soft drinks at £51 there better around

Disappointed , at first we were seated by a lovley women who greeted us and offered us drinks and menu what was available. Shortly after we were seated we were told we weren't allowed to sit at another table because it was fully booked however the restaurant had no other people in. We ordered four Sunday dinners and a 8oz cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was a plain regular burger with no sauce on the burger only on the side or any taste for £18 was shocking . The Sunday dinners where do I start the waiters had come back and forth because they had got wrong meats and forgot to ask questions such as any sauces with the meats and any cheese on the burger this lead to wrong dinners including the likes of being served cold meat and cold mash this was highly disappointing. They apologised and took our dinners back to the kitchen and replaced the dinners with "hot fresh" dinners sadly when they came back to the table the meat was incorrect this caused nothing but stress and confusion on our table we came for a nice family easter dinner and was disappointed however Suzanne one of the manageress was very apologetic and very respectfully she apologised and offered us vouchers which I will take on board.

Food was OK , Lager was much dearer than what we usually pay for at our local .My friend was happy with her meal ,mine the chips were overcooked and just say warm but then the place itself was freezing ,a couple on the next table told us it's always like that ,after the meal we left as we couldn't stand the cold any longer

What a great friendly and accommodating village pub,Georgina is friendly and welcoming,as are all her staff. The christening was a great success and everyone that came said they had really good time. I feel this village pub is going to go from strength to strength,with the upcoming plans.

Absolutely stunning place. The food was just so delicious, the staff were brilliant and the surrounding views were incredible. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the Black Horse. We used it as a stop over on our return from Scotland. Shame it’s not nearer us as I would go on a regular basis! Thanks to you all for hosting us and allowing us to park our Campervan overnight. Very much appreciated. 🙏🏻

Toppings should go on top of the cheese not under it. tomato sauce was hardly detectable, base stodgy and spongy. the base was like a cake despite being billed as thin and crusty. if you don't know how to make a pizza, which really isn't difficult, then you shouldn't call yourself a pizzeria
