Beamish Hall Hotel in County Durham

I've had to go with the 1 star due to our visit today, went to reception where a unhelpful idiot told us she didnt know the price/cost of any rooms and couldn't tell me anything information regarding cost, just keepet repeating please go online , yeah sorry just go on line I don't know , yeah sorry but I don't know , yeah I know I work here and I'm on the front desk and take people's payments and book things but no in any help we then called the number on Google later where the woman who answered still couldn't tell us the price of the room when we give her date , then we went online where we got told it was not responding, so still no idea , we called back again then as where discussing the room , the woman on the phone said, oh someone is waiting at my front desk I must go mid conversation and just ended the phone call , so if I owned that hotel, I would clean house and start again because I have no idea how much customers you have lost today and future , I wouldn't be planning a wedding there with a hundred customers they can't respond to simple questions or explain situation of there in house protocols to customers 🤯 There mother's would be disappointed and Jesus , the front desk woman looked like she was suffering from gonorrhoea

Only dropped off a bride off at this hotel with her husband and the drive upto the hotel and grounds are excellent, the hotel looks grand andvim sure the inside will match

Beautiful building & grounds, our room was clean & comfortable, and the restaurant made us delicious veggie/vegan breakfasts.

Lovely place to visit. Nice people and very nice food.

Have stayed twice whilst visiting the Museum. This hotel is above average with pleasant well trained staff and highly recommended for easy access to the Museum. Very well suited to retirees enjoying a peaceful retreat and families enjoying a bit of lovely when doing other things.

Stayed here for 2 nights for my daughter’s wedding. It is the most beautiful venue and made a perfect wedding environment. The staff are absolutely brilliant - calm, professional and endlessly patient, no matter what demands were made of them! I can’t fault the venue, the staff, the rooms - and as the food, it was outstanding. We had the most wonderful time. Thank you!

Rooms ok if a bit ancient but beds comfortable and huge bathroom

The hotel is situated in a nice area, the menu is lacking anything worth looking forward to and the breakfast cooked offerings is terrible.

Nephews wedding here..... brilliant all round

Was there for an awards ceremony the grounds are stunning the buildings are beautiful and the food was delicious. Be prepared to open your wallet though prices are a bit steep for my meager budget but what you'd expect for a high end establishment.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Highly recommend.

Bed was small. Bath tub was dirty. Pub is too small for the amount of people at hotel. Food was delicious. No lift. No shelter for smokers or vapers to go. That's fine on a dry summers night but not this time of year.

I wasn't keen on the drive there. Roads were narrow and winding but once there the venue was beautiful and well cared for. Staff were professional and well organised. Food was lovely too.

Room good with nice view, food and restaurant staff is amazing, would recommend.
