The best restaurants serving Default food in Herne Hill Lambeth London

Last weekend I hired out the Goodness venue for 30 friends for my birthday meal - not only was the space perfect for the occasion (room layout, lighting and proximity to public transport) but Harry the chef put on a serious spread for us: Blood Orange Bellini on arrival, pumpkin ravioli or burrata with candied walnuts to start, seared Sea bream with celeriac purée or roasted cauliflower with muscat grapes for main, and a decadent chocolate nemesis cake for dessert! The guests were delighted. (And catered for all dietary requirements, including a very creative alternative to the chocolate nemesis dessert for vegan guests!) Harry was very flexible about any requests and allowed us to have a mix of BYOB and wines from his menu. He allowed us access to the venue to set up and freedom to decorate as we liked (see photos) and had provided friendly, professional waiters for the occasion. I Will definitely keep Harry’s kitchen in mind for future private events, as will my friends for sure (who have since asked me to pass on his details!) Thank you Harry + team!

Todo fue perfecto, la comida es muy buena y saludable, el personal es muy amable y servicial, y los jugos son simplemente increíbles. En general, fue una experiencia increíble y definitivamente regresaré pronto y lo recomendaré a otros. ¡Gracias por brindarme un servicio tan excelente y alegrarme el día!

y el más sabroso menú interesante llevar más de la zona. Gran carne y opciones vegetarianas. Birmanos y platos indios tanto maravilloso. Desde ensalada verde escabechada de té de curry indio tradicional. El cocinero es un verdadero chef y hace de alta calidad platos a un precio muy razonable. Me encanta este lugar!

Without a doubt the best salt beef available in London! My partner and I ordered a reuben and a philly cheese steak and we were so happy! the salt beef in the reuben was cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth, and the philly cheese steak was just right - we ordered the option with the provolone cheese (they do offer american cheese too). We will 100% be ordering from here again!!

I'd requested a quiet table for a v elderly lady with a hearing aid. No response or confirmation but the table had at least been reserved. Had to ask at the bar for our food order. Smashburger & fries - ok. Overcooked fish - not so good. But as the cheese plate arrived, the quiet was deafened out by the loudest TV volume and the end of a local football first half. There were 9 people watching the match & this venue is billed as a 'Stylish gastropub'. I had to ask the landlord at half time to turn it right down because I couldn't hear anything myself, & my mother just looked pained. I was at pains over the £92 bill - 2 mains, cheese plate, bottle of wine, 2 pints bitter. If this landlord's attitude & behaviour, and this 'gastro' experience sounds good to you, you're welcome!

Some of these icecreams are 4,50 Although they are very nice they are overpriced I bought myself an icecream maker and now I do my own icecreams, with ideas.

Excellent value and BYOB, no frills friendly service 👏 New local favourite, Lamb Kahari was delicious

The food was fantastic, plus friendly and accommodating staff. Can't go wrong! Had the ortolana and bruschetta, and waiter gladly brought us garlic oil and chili oil!

Anything but Tasty House! The chicken was extremely DRY, the noddles tasted awful, and the chips were clearly old and refried—the whole meal was just thrown together. Honestly, I’ve had better from a microwave meal. Not worth the money or the calories.
