One of the most racist treatments I have ever received in a Chinese Takeaway. I was treated like dirt and their level of customer service is disgusting. I received cold food and not even an apology. NEVER AGAIN

I’ve been buying from tasty house intermittently over more than 11 years - always getting the same dish: Singapore fried rice. It’s one of the best takeaway Chinese restaurants that I’ve ever been too. Their food is consistently tasty and well portioned. Would happily travel across the other side of the river where I live to buy tasty house. I’m looking forward to them opening their east London branch one day 👀

Hi to all, This Chinese takeaway has been in Denmark Hill, Camberwell for decades. I've used its service once or twice in the past & the food was hit & miss at best, but its always had the potential to be " A cut above the rest". Finally i can honestly say that Tasty House has achieved this feat. The majority of the dishes are "Full of Flavour", meat is tender & texture is consistent and worthy of the best Chinese takeaway in the vicinity. Its run by a few women with "Military Precision". (cash only). There's a trade off because the food is so good. "I am recommending this place too all & everyone". Its an impressive takeaway based on the multitude of dishes and the eating experience.. Try This place out 9/10.

I hate the phrase but it is it what it is. British Chinese food but tasty. Usual suspects on the menu but again, good tasty food. Tough to get through at 5pm and a bit of a wait for delivery. But that's testament to how popular it is. Using it for 25 years so good for me. And far far better than the place next door.

Food was fresh and tasty, had a curry. My sis had a roast chicken with BBQ sauce with rice. I also had Singapore fried rice and 2 other people had different dishes that we shared amongst ourselves. Amazing, can’t wait to order again the next time I’m in London.

Meat is cooked deliciously in this place. I advise everyone to try it.

I bought salt and pepper ribs and I was extremely disappointed. Some parts of the ribs were luke warm and other parts of the ribs were extremely cold. This meant that the food was not cooked properly before serving. This is very dangerous and a health and safety issue for the customer. They didn’t offer any compensation neither did they accept to give a refund. If you ever buy food from there, always open up your order and check it before you leave!

Food is not bad. Moonlight is better, but very cheap.

House prep chow mein is awesome. Fried fried is authentic and the chicken curry and rice in one tub is excellent

I ordered Special Fried Rice and it was deliciously fresh, no oil or burnt bits! Will definitely recommend 😊.

I used to purchase here years back and the food was always nice so I was looking forward to my order today. I ordered sweet and sour chicken hong kong style with egg fried rice and I am appalled the chicken tasted old and stale like it was left and reheated. All the sweet and sour sauce was dried up. The egg fried rice saved the day it was nice. Overall, I am disappointed as I spent nearly £10 for food I couldn’t eat.

I’ve tried this place a few times and each time the food is getting worse I overheard today mama has retired. This is probably why are we not getting the quality of food that we are used to? I ordered today, crispy spring duck rolls omg disgusting, it taste like eating rotten compost I’ve never known crispy spring duck rolls to have purple cabbage I think that what it was 🤢hence photo good money in the bin even the chicken curry was dry and the rice was dry nasty and the black bean sauce with beef chewy, and didn’t taste right again waste of money maybe Health and safety should be advised ?

Telephone order pick up. Excellent service..very polite friendly staff. Bbq ribs with rice (extra sauce) special Noodles are my fave. Their spring rolls are delicious.

Been here 2 times the workers are not as friendly when you walk in. The prices of their meal does not match up to the expectation of their food salt and pepper spare ribs small £6.60?? There special fried rice extremely dry and the meat aswell and not enough pork inside.

The place is neglected and unwelcoming as a take away... but the food is good!

I appreciate you may be appealing to an African customer base, however, the rice meals are way too dry, including the meat. Get some moisture guys so I don’t choke to death.

I've been ordering Chinese here for a year but last night I noticed the chicken in my special fried rice had mould on it and I thought to check my shredded chicken aswell.... yeah hard pass. SOO anoyying because the flavour is there but if you investigate the food you will see how much wrong there is. Also, if you're going to order from any resturant make sure you can see the kitchen, because why is the kitchen hidden? let that sink in loool

No me gustó para nada. Los noodles estaban extremadamente secos y no tenían ningún tipo de sazón o sabor. Parecían haber sido preparados hace días. El calamar parecía chicle, no se podía masticar.

Special fried rice as dry as a desert, sweet and sour chicken was all batter and no chicken, front door window and side window need cleaning and the counters guard needs replacing because of its poor condition

On colleagues recommendations I walked down to order myself a special fried rice. After the first taste, my first impression was ‘hmm - dull and dry’ after another two or three mouthfuls I realised… The rice and the pork had this charcoal taste… only to realise that it was burnt. How do you burn special fried rice???? - So that went in the bin after 4 mouthfuls… What a waste of £6:50 and I’ll look forward to a 14hr shift with no lunch. Thanks Tasty house 🙄

The best Chinese takeaway in all of south London in my opinion. Tasty food, great special fried rice and the best chilli oil. Luckily they sell the chilli oil in containers separately too!

I ordered roar duck with bbq sauce and egg fried rice. Hardly any egg in the rice the portion of duck was very small (a lot more rice to duck) the only good thing about it was the sauce wouldn’t be ordering from here again no effort put in at all.

Not all that. Need to serve more fresh food and not old reheated food.

This used to be one of the best Chinese shops in Camberwell and peckham. However as of lately its lost the love an care they used to put in their dishes. My rice was hard an prawns uncooked. However I do believe they can find the passion again but lately quality has been poor.

The food is so so tasty. Never had chinese as good as theirs. They allow you to determine the spice level of your meal and give you extra spice if you want. I especially adored their special fried rice meat consisting of immaculate rice intermingling with delicious meats. Every meal is served in aluminium plates which allow the food to maintain the heat for a long time. It was especially delicious. Unfortunately, they do not accept cards so you have to come prepared with cash. It's also not a restaurant so you can't eat there and have to wait a bit to be served. It is often better to book on the phone and wait to be told your meal is ready. Nevertheless, the food is worth all inconveniences and the staff are nice so it deserves 5 stars.

The food here is really nice. The only downside is that more recently the food has gone downhill a bit as I ordered some special chow mien and it was so dry, like it was fried dry with no flavour. Also they have started doing smaller sized portions of curry sauce so unless you mention you want a large one you will get the smaller one so always ask. I’ve been using this Chinese for many years even going back to the times they used cashews in their cunpo chicken! I’ve probably been using them for around 20 years now. They are also quite pricey nowadays. I am giving them 4 stars for this reason.

Way too rude. I called them for an order, the lady took my order and told me the price then hang up on me. LOL I was about to double check with them it’s a delivery. So I called again to double check it’s a delivery the lady started being really rude and kept screaming you didn’t tell me it’s a delivery ( repeated herself like 4 times). She didn’t ask and I was about to tell her but she hang up…… She was acting like everything was my fault and she’s done no wrong to be giving such customer service. Thought I’m the one thats paying ? Lol - I won’t pay for this kind of service anymore. GOODBYE

I had an awful service today long wait my order was not taken property when I tried to explain the extremely rude lady behind the counter just started screaming and I am sure I heard the word Niger in her rant. NEVER AGAIN. Oh got home and did not get what I ordered and the food was inedable.

I made my 2 dish order via telephone where the lady spoke unclear so was difficult to comprehend fully, where she had to repeat herself a few times, she then passed the phone to someone who could speak more clear who confirmed my order. Upon arrival to collect the same lady who took my order was on the phone arguing With regards to a misunderstanding of an order for over 10 mins before its confirmation. When I received my order the lady also confirmed my correct order and i left. As arrived home to plate my order i realised they gave me an INCORRECT order, called to notify them and the same lady insisted she got it right and the mistake is with me, Very RUDE persisting to argue with me for a beef dish unaware of my family’s diet of no red meat. As a result they blame me, the customer and refused to acknowledge or apologise for the mistakes and inconvenience. They refused to change it or refund me my money and their reason is the order has already been opened. I refuse to believe any establishment in the Uk should forgo such terrible levels of customer service, local residents do not Accept any establishment providing you with a service Which you pay money to receive disrespect your money as a consumer. No way will I be using this shop again and if anyone else had been treated with any form of rude behaviour where they do not consider you as value to their business or try to correct their wrongs doings please take your money somewhere else. Thank you

Have been going there for many years. The food is quality, the service is brilliant, the staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Worth traveling over to taste and enjoy the variety they offer. My personal favourite.

I usually like this place, but had a bit of a bad experience today that was really annoying. If you're vegetarian, make sure you TRIPLE check that they heard you say that. i ordered char kway teow and said please no prawns or meat, i'm vegetarian. the woman rolled her eyes and nodded and asked if i want chilli, i said yes please but make sure no meat. i also ordered salt and pepper tofu. when it was ready i checked 'it's vegetarian, right?' and they said yes. I got home and opened the noodles and honestly a meat eater would have been over the moon- there was SO much pork, chicken and prawns in it. It was raining and windy so i just picked it all out instead of going back, but it was really annoying. if she didnt understand me she should have just said, instead of pretending she heard!

A child answered the phone and took my order, I'm not sure why I was surprised when he got it wrong, when receiving my food and a new menu with my delivery the price I paid doesn't match with the one on there. When waiting for my order I received a call from the delivery driver informing me that he was downstairs and that he doesn't use stairs to make a delivery to the door and that I would have to come down to collect it, when asking him why he didn't bring it to the door his reply was "I don't do stairs" to my shock. ( the driver was physically abled as he got out of the car to retrieve my order from the boot) The food was half cooked and wasn't worth eating, I have used this establishment before a while ago and the food was very good and appetising but after this experience I will not be using Tasty House again and would recommend people to avoid here as well.

Shocking, wasted £26, they had my wofe waiting in the shop for well over 30 minutes. How hard is it to remember Pork Fried Rice, Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings, Salt & Pepper Ribs. The woman in the shop is rude, has no mamners and lacks basic customer service skills. Spends more tine talking on the phone and gets the orders completely wrong. If you can't handle the pressure of working in a food establishment, change your job.

Ordered here a few days ago. Duck meal was nice however alsp got a chicken dish for my daughter which she found inedible. The chicken was hard and dry..seemed to be very overcooked or old. Had to throw it away and only eat the boiled rice

I’ve never been so disappointed. After ordering from here for many years, today I ordered my regular mid week takeaway. I order the same every week. Paid full price as I always do but strangely was given small containers for all orders. After realising this was smaller than usual I made my way back to the store and called in to inform them they had given me the wrong portion size and requested my usual as this is what I had paid for. They then began to scream at me and tell me it’s my fault and demanding that I pay £9.60 for a regular sweet and sour chicken ALONE despite their menu clearly stating £5.60. Owner also said they will never speak to me. Extremely poor customer service and operated by scammers who fail to take accountability when they mess up and then will demand more money to rectify their mistakes. Definitely won’t be returning and will take up Chuengs in Peckham rye or Winner Walworth rd in future. (I’ve tried them once and they’re good!)

had 3 large special fried rice's mine tasted like burnt but also a cigarette taste to it. the sweet chicken was not good she asked me if I wanted the chichen balls I said no she still gave me the balls which was not nuce. the pork was good just a bit sweet as for some reason they added honey to it. the crispy beef I asked if is was only with sweet chili sauce she said yes when I tasted it it was with hot sauce and they added sweet chili in a pot. I wasn't a big fan won't be going back

Always nice food...very Tasty The lady who owns the shop is very friendly. Usual stop after hospital appointments. Shame about the current restrictions which means that she can't take dine in which is affecting the business. The government failed them.

Have been ordering from here for years now every now and then. Food is always good and fresh. Made on order, that’s why you have to wait a bit. Try their chilli sauce definitely recommended. We get free spring rolls as well with large orders. Recommended.

Good prices..gone up slightly..maybe due to C19. Food delicious as always. The queue is an issue esp after 6pm. They are pretty fast though.

Yummy I had the egg fried rice with bbq ribs combo meal very very nice.... But, towards the end of my meal the rice became a bit salty due to the bbq sauce from the ribs had to throw the remaining of it away but apart from that very nice xx
