Good food However, the service was not very good. The attendant who seemed to be the owner of the restaurant was not happy when I only asked for one dish to share between two people and so he charged me the service fee which was optional.

Delicious, hot Chinese food with speedy and friendly service! Generous portions for a great price. Great variety of Chinese dishes and I look forward to returning to try more. Highly recommended if you are in the Waterloo area!

The food is excellent and fresh, definitely worth recommending. The service is exceptionally friendly, and the place is spotless. You won’t have to worry about sticky tables here!

Ordered the pork dumplings and they were just standard frozen dumplings you can get from any Chinese supermarket but pan fried (and poorly!) Chow mein was below average and swimming in sesame oil so lacked any real flavour. Starter and a main at £21.50... wish I hadn't bothered.

Don't let the interesting name steer you wrong. This is definitely Asian food culture! We had great service from our server, Kevin. The food literally came out from the kitchen in 5 minutes. Wonderfully fresh and authentic. One dish we tried was the chicken chow mien. Noodles were soft. Onions cooked with a perfect crunch, and the sauce complimented the chicken well. The second dish was spicy Szechuan prawns that had just the right amount of sweet heat paired with fried rice. The restaurant was very clean with 5 tables occupied on a Monday night. Kevin took time to answer all of our tourist questions and was a joy to speak with. I will definitely try this place again before we leave! I hope it will warm up to enjoy their outdoor seating area.

I've been eating in this restaurant for about two decades. The food is one of the best Chinese food that I've eaten in London. Kind and funny staff. A treasure in the heart of the Cut.

5 stars all around Absolutely amazing food. We all loved it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the only problem is that we enjoyed it that much we over indulged and struggled to fit out the door overall a beautiful authentic meal.

Great for takeaway near Waterloo. Very fresh. Lovely food. Only downside is when you order a main takeaway you get one dish with half main half rice. Still very tasty.

Fantastic gem of a restaurant in a lovely little spot near Waterloo Station. Always look for an excuse to pop in or grab a takeaway. Staff extremely pleasant once they get used to you; I like that better to be honest, rather than false friendliness

That was nothing. Lots of rice with a little bit of meat, little sauce, almost no vegetables. Spring rolls beforehand were ok. Incl. Coke everything 22 Br. Pounds.

The vegetable spring rolls tasted off? And I noticed my glass had an odd smell. Four stars as the main dishes were okay & as mentioned, the service was very good. I would return but perhaps try a different fish and avoid the spring rolls

Was looking for value Asian food nearby Waterloo station and found this one randomly. Surprised with delicious food at good value, recommend salt & pepper deep fry squid and chicken satay! Make me feel travel in Asia! Didn’t take photo for the squid as we finished too quick haha

One of the best Cantonese style food in London without exception. Have followed them since their early days in the dumpling inn ( just down the road). The. At the bigger site which is now culture grub. If you want excellent affordable chinese cuisine in London this is the best place to be. Price, turnover and quality is all excellent Only flaw I would note is that I miss the thick wheat noodles they used to use for the lao mein that is no longer present in the menu. But that is my personal preference at the end of the day.

I review this little back street café regularly, and the review is always the same, fantastic food at reasonable prices, but it is a cafe, not the type of place to get dressed up. It is very close to Waterloo station if you need a cheap meal before you travel…

Food: very tasty as if we are back in Asia. I don’t think msg was added at all. According to my hubby, the laksa seafood noodles tasted like what he used to have in Burma. I love their **super tender ** beef belly rice. Services: the owner is from HK years ago. Super friendly and patience to introduce the dishes. The waitress is very attentive to guests Atmosphere: best family and friends gatherings place after work.

I've been going to Culture Grub for around 10 years, and would recommend! Great food, efficient, friendly team - always a nice welcome! I usually have the Satay Tofu (delicious), but friends have ordered everything from noodles to curry... we've never had a bad meal.

Wonderful meal tonight - recommend the hot and sour soup! Only 4* as even for Waterloo found it quite pricy; 2x beers, 1x soup, 1x prawn dish was £35! Really friendly staff though, would still go back.

J'aurais mis la note max si le prix des boissons (eau) n'était pas aussi cher.

Exterior may give the impression that this a typical Chinese takeaway, but food is fantastic and service is terrific. Definitely worth a visit if you love Chinese food.

Food was great. However, it was uncomfortable for them to ask me to pay £1 since they do not service charges included on the bill. I always want to tip on my own without being asked. Note that it's closed after lunch and reopened again.

Terrible service, unfriendly staff and the food is not up to standard. Now the restaurant just looks cheap, whereas it had more class before they changed owners. The food and service used be better back then too, I definitely won't be back.

The food is amazing, staff are friendly, and I managed to eat when the staff team were trying some new dishes. To my surprise they made some Hong Kong style 'Pineapple buns' (Bo Lor Bao) which was really good. Hope it gets on the menu! Would recommend a visit for the current menu, or if the timing is right, what new dishes that get on the menu.

Amazing!!!! Super tasty!!! Loved the spring rolls and my curry soup thing with rice noodle vermicelli!! The portions were big and the staff was sweet! I would come again for sure! Side story- I tried telling the waitress in Chinese that the noodles were my favorite but I ended up saying the bread was my favorite and she was super sweet about it. She said something to me but I didn’t understand so I told her in Chinese that I didn’t speak Chinese... overall it was a very wholesome interaction and I’m glad I came here!!! Totally recommend this place!!!

Got the mapo tofu with pork and it was quite tasty! There are several other Szechuan meals on their menu that I'd like to try. Service was great and the food came out quickly.

Nice little Chinese restaurant, no frills but good food. Take cash as they were reluctant to accept cards, when we said we didn't have enough and only had cards they pointed to a cash machine over the road, after digging deep we managed to find enough cash, not a real problem just be aware.

Went as a group of 3, we shared a bottle of wine and each got a main and a portion of chicken wings to share. The food was served quickly and everything tasted reallly fresh. The pork belly with green in shrimp paste sauce was delicious as were the wings. Total came to £23 each. Big portions, decent price and attentive service. We're looking forward to coming back.

Efficient service - no smiles included. Served main while we were still finishing our starters. And brought bill before was asked. Clearly wanted us out quickly Could not detect any beef in the Crispy chilly beef apart from having to chew a lot. It was Covered in a sweet gelatinous goo that made me feel quesy. Others in my party said they would not have ordered if they saw the state of the toilets before eating. Would not go back if I was hungry and the food was free.

Nice little restaurant. I was surprised that you had to wait partly for a table and outside even a small queue has, formed. The service was fast and friendly, and the food did not take long. The range of dishes was quite sufficient, and there were enough offers for vegetarians and vegans. The food tasted good, but my menu has not totally blown me away now. Overall, however, the price-performance ratio was entirely in order.

Exceptional service - had a question about a dish tasting different and the staff asked the kitchen, took it away and changed the sauce entirely, creating a new batch for the dish. No extra charges or anything and fast service at decent prices.

Walked past it while we were trying to find a place for a snak before the play. We loved it and we are surely going back. Food was fresh, served quickly, right portions and prices. Service was more than delightful. All in all, we are now looking forward to our next visit!

Group of 5 sat in for dinner. 2 courses for £25 a head. Really lovely and freshly made. Wish I'd found this before and highly recommended. High compliments from my group. Food ranged from crispy duck to seaweed. I'll happily go back.

Got there by coincidece - will come back on purpose. All of the food was great and served very fast. Went with house recommendations and all was delicious. Mandarin ribs and brisket were particularly good, but corn soup and dim sum were excellent as well. Great value for money too. Highly recommended.

i ordered den den mein beef, roasted duck and pork and then ma po tofu and i was with two friends who had lived in china who said this wasnt authentic but i really enjoyed it! i found it delicious and i’m definitely coming back to try other dishes. i think the roasted duck and pork and the ma po tofu was my two favourite dishes.
