Khan's in Lambeth

My friends and I have had the pleasure of dining at Khan’s several times now. Every time the food and service are both top notch. Qasim is a fantastic host and is very welcoming every visit. The prices are exceptionally reasonable and you won’t find food of this quality for this price anywhere in London. This week, we pre-ordered a whole leg of lamb for my brother’s birthday and it was fantastic. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Khan's hosted us for a Charity fundraising event - they were incredibly hospitable and made the event a roaring success. Brilliant food and service! Can't wait to go back.

Best curry in Brixton. Hands down.

Had a very nice takeaway lamb madras - generous portion,tasty with good amount of heat and fork-tender lamb. Very reasonable price The karai gosht is also sooo good

Just another Indian restaurant run by non india people, better than most of them with higher prices and not clear prices (like 1.50 extra for main) Though food taste is good. To me it looked like the hospitality is better for non-asians.

Delicious birthday meal with friends. I regularly get take-out from here but today I dined in. Delicious flavours, generous portion sizes and great value. Also, lovely staff and I was even treated to a birthday cake!

Brilliant experience, went as a large group and it is perfect as a BYOB place and the food was excellent. Qasim was especially helpful and really made for a special experience!

Khan's hosted my birthday celebration for 30 friends. We had a fantastic evening thanks to Qasim and the rest of the team who were amazing. The food was delicious and they catered well for the vegetarians in the group. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you so much and we'll be returning for sure!

The food here was amazing, we came last minute, they had a birthday party reservation but still was able to fit just in the back. Qasim was awesome as our server! And had good recommendations for what to get!

We were pleased to have this restaurant fairly close to our AirBNB. We had dinner there the night we arrived in London. We ordered some Lamb Balti, Chicken Bhuna, Shrimp with Saag, and Chicken Tikka Masala. In addition, we got some Saag Paneer and an Aloo Masala. The food is tasty...but mild. Personally, I enjoyed it. So much so, we went back 3 days later and got some take out. I would recommend this restaurant. The staff are really nice and helpful. 👍👍

My family and I have been eating at Khans in Brixton for years and even though we live far away, it's worth the trip as the food is amazing! Excellent taste, varied menu and topped off by first class service as well. Very highly recommended!

I recently had a birthday party at Khan's and it couldn't have been more perfect. Not only was the food amazing but the service was impeccable. I had such a good time and I am very grateful to the team.

Excellent food and lovely staff. BYOB makes it a very affordable evening out too!

Good meal but we were put in the back room which was pretty bare and unprepared. There were tablecloths thrown over the fridge and sink to disguise them. The server was also overly controlling about what we ordered.

The food is always excellent from khans, but it’s the service that sets this place apart from other Indian restaurants. I wholeheartedly recommend them to everyone!

Delivery… food is the past has been delicious.. Chicken was burnt and stale, food was cold and had no taste and bread was soggy. So disappointed!

The food was great and the service was quick! Really enjoyed the fun vibe for lots of young people celebrating. The atmosphere could be slightly improved downstairs I.e. mood lighting and less cramped, maybe some light background music but I would definitely come back again.

EDIT: i originally posted this review a year ago and I had to update it because we’ve come back for a second round of our Christmas Curry this year and it’s been an amazing experience overall. Qasim and the team were so incredibly accommodating for our group of 46 people, with a short notice booking on such a busy period as December is! The food was outstanding as always and the treatment is immaculate. We had poppadoms, onion bhajis and samosas as starters, and a main with rice and naans each, plus BYOB, and it was such good prize for the amount of food we had. I cannot recommend this place enough, thank you so much for all your help guys!! ORIGINAL: This was such a nice evening for us! We had a group of 40 people for our Christmas curry dinner and Qasim and the team were amazing on every aspect. The meal unfortunately was on the same day as the England vs France semi final World Cup match, but they were able to organise a TV for us to watch the match during the dinner, which was incredibly helpful. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and enjoy our meal, we had a great time! Thank you Qasim :)

Can I start by saying what an amazing host Qasim is. We felt right at home as soon as we walked through the door. The food was top notch and on par with the hospitality and that’s saying something! We will be back. Qasim thank you my friend, if only I could dance half aswell as you.

Honestly cannot recommend Khan’s enough - truly the most delicious food with the most amazing staff who make you feel so welcome and looked after. Qasim, Faisal and the whole team are the most amazing hosts, an absolute Brixton gem!!! x

Still going strong! Hadn't been for ages so was delighted by how it had maintained standards. A good honest byob curry house. Jalfrezi, Ceylon and karahi gosht stood out but all was good. Waiter was great bit of a character. Excellent location for drinks after as well. And saintsbury opposite for byob ease. Excellent

Where do I start ! I went to Khan in brixton Water Lane and the food is next to none ! The decor was beautiful and the service was excellent but the food is on another level, I really enjoyed it and I’ll be visiting back very soon, please if you see this give it a try and I promise you that you’ll thank me later .

I love this place, the staff are sincere, professional and know their stuff, and I'm lucky enough to have got to know them too. The food is very tasty, and the veg options are great too. Ideal place!

Delicious food from Khans, great spinach, prawn and pumpkin dishes, nans so tasty and moreish. Very good value for money & plenty for next day, ordered for 4 and paid extra pound to get some side dishes as mains

Worst Indian food I’ve ever ordered!! Tasteless, greasy, you should be embarrassed to serve this. I ordered from here after viewing the google review, what a mistake.Tried each dish and put it all in the garbage.

Delicious takeaway! Well priced, lots of vegetarian/vegan options, and a discount when collecting. Will definitely go again :-)

Haven't been here since 2018 when I last lived round here. Just moved back and first thing I did was check if Khans still bangs. It definitely does. Super reasonably priced cuzza and some interesting things on the menu which is nice to see. Ceylon chicken was nice and hot. Veg stuff was a little samey but flavours still good. Will be back IRL for sure.

I’m local & have had over 30 years of delicious from khan’s. I’m veggie & can rarely get well cooked food from a curry house. Vegetables cooked so long they’re barely recognisable. Khan’s is my only curry house & if you’re ordering, don’t forget their tarka dhal, it’s soo yum!

food was bland, tasted like it was reheated in the microwave. ate it cause i was hungry and paid for it.

Fabulous curry house! I always judge every Indian restaurant on its Tarka Dhal, and it was outstanding. I have a very high bar when it comes to curry, but this is one of the best Indian restaurants I've tried in London. Everything was great, including the warm welcome, and excellent service. Highly recommended.

The food and service alone makes me want to eat here each time I'm in London. The owner was friendly and humble. Homemade Indian dishes were cooked to perfection. Seasoned just right. Everything was hot and made with fresh ingredients. The paratha was delish!

The quality of food here was exceptional. I had lamb in my main dish and it was honestly the most melt in the mouth I'd ever had. All the side dishes were brilliant too and had a hint of individual flair that you'd more expect from a very high end Indian restaurant. How this place wasn't rammed with punters is one of the great mysteries of our time. If you live in or around the Brixton area, you will not find a better curry. period.

First time visit after reading positive google reviews. Can safely say it’s worth travelling from Clapham to Brixton for a curry - as it beats any of our locals. This will definitely be our new go-to Indian restaurant. We asked for a couple of changes to dishes, to suit us and they got them to perfection. We were given a reward card when we left that can be used for takeaway stamps as well as dine-in for up to 15% off after so many visits. If you want alcohol - it’s bring your own booze (there’s a Sainsbury’s opposite and an off licence around the corner) but they sell soft drinks. Service was great, atmosphere lovely. Thank you.

Had a curry here for just over 30 people. Truly outstanding service with loads of personality. Curry was top gear too. A lot of pressure was on Khan’s to deliver and boy did they deliver.

Had the chum chum chicken, fish curry and chicken korahi - absolutely delicious!

I went to have food alone & I am amazed,mesmerised..bcz the way they treat me was top notch..The food like Biriyani's are mouth watering..Must visiting restaurant Above-all..Qasim vai my brother you are superb

I recently visited Khan's in Brixton and was blown away by the delicious curry dishes they serve. The flavors were bold and authentic, and the service was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend trying their chicken bhuna and their garlic naan bread. The only slight critique I have is that I would have liked for the spice level to have been a bit stronger, as it didn't quite knock my socks off. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience and I will definitely be returning to Khan's in the future.

Arranged a group booking for 40 or so people the other week, on recommendation from others. Did not disappoint! Qasim and the team made every effort to make the night a success, advise us with a special menu, make us feel welcome with great hospitality. Food was delish and the atmosphere was great. Great curry house. No fuss, no frills. Just great food and service. BYO with a place to pick up a Cobra two doors down. Try the kandahar balti and the pumpkin masala. You won't be disappointed.
