The best restaurants serving Default food in Verulam St Albans East of England

£40 for food poisoning this time 🤪 disappointed, it’s been ages since I’ve visited and it was great before. Expensive for what it is now and I ended up so ill suddenly after a few hours I had to go to A&E

This used to a nice place, haven't been in awhile and visited today. Very, very disappointing. Bad service, very small but expensive portions, awful food. Didn't get what I ordered, burnt bread, no garnish. Slapped together sandwich. Tea wasn't even hot. Avoid!!

After reading the reviews, we were so looking forward to an evening with friends here. Service was non-existent…we waited 20 mins to order drinks. When ordering food, we asked if we could add or change some items-happy to pay an additional cost, obviously! We were point blank told no! Can we add chicken to the arabiata? No! If I ask the chef, he will kill me, then come and kill you. Can we have the chicken Milanese with spaghetti instead of the salad? No! We decided to cut our losses, and headed down to Per Tutti. Nothing was too much trouble, both adjustments made with no fuss, and tip top service. You may be a hidden gem, but if you can’t get the order through, your reputation will slowly wane. So disappointing

Visited for St George's day and for pie and mash! It was lovely. Service great. Live entertainment too!

Lovely place but has slipped in recent years. Lack of windows in wedding room. Was there for funeral reception. Glorious gardens

Really nice pub, open fire and super dog friendly. All the patrons are very happy and friendly as well and I enjoyed having a nice chat with a few (and theor dogs). Personally, I prefer a pub without kids so this ine is right up my street!

We booked our wedding 4 months ago at the loft. We were supposed to do a tasting and suggested a date. We called, emailed and even contacted them on social media for 5 weeks and no one got back to us. In the end we had to find another venue for 40 people and 7 weeks to go. We have asked for our deposit back and they are avoiding all communication. Be VERY careful before booking at this venue

Food not overly tasty and the waitress isha I think very loud cheeky at time rude and annoying. Over priced for starters no bread offered

Lovley pub if i lived in st Albans it would most definitely be my local. Its a very sixties feel I love it and fair priced

This is such a welcoming traditional pub. Staff are always so friendly and efficient. The food delicious. Would definitely recommend

Been here before with family from Cornwall so came again on Monday service was excellent as was the food would give more stars if available we will be back at Christmas

Went there yesterday as I haven’t been there in ages after the lockdowns. I looked on the new menu to see what’s new. Me and my partner had Bubble fruit tea mango and Oreo shake, unfortunately the bubble tea was way too sweet and bit expensive. By honest Shaken cow shouldn’t really do Bubble tea or boba as it doesn’t work out well. Milk shakes, ice creams and other drinks is fine.

Dropped in for a coffee, was greeted and welcomed. Very impressed, and the service was fantastic. Will call in again highly recommended. Adam,

The new chef, Mr Nitin, has raised the cuisine in the restaurant of St Michael’s Manor to a new level. We had a meal that was memorable, and far superior to a lunch taken there with friends in July 2023. I’ll be back. VIP treatment for vegetarians too.
