We had a lovely cream tea at Abigails today. The scones and choice of teas were really good. We sat outside in the courtyard and enjoyed the view, a real treat being so close to the Abbey. The service was excellent, we would definitely revisit Abigails.

Had a lovely afternoon tea . scones where so light , sandwich fresh , soft and full of tina , cake was moist and tasty . Always love going there . Feels like a step back in time and always cosy friendly atmosphere . Only suggestion would be - the afternoon tea was delicious but would have been lovely for it to be on tiered plates or all of it on one pretty plate to make it look like an afternoon tea and bit more special so matching the quality of the food .

This little gem in St Albans does exactly what it says on the tin. There are far too many posh and poncey tea rooms but this is just perfect. The food is always lovely, the girls are friendly and quick and nothing is too much effort. Thanks guys!

Tucked away in Village Arcade, is this family cafe. Serving sandwiches, cakes and hot drinks, it's the perfect way to end the day in St Albans. We took a seat outside under a parasole, as the heavens were to open any minute. We were served by extremely friendly staff and loved the cake which are all home-baked.

A brilliant hidden-gem close to the Cathedral - it's so nice that the City still has a proper independent cafe that serves fresh food (rather than a generic chain). The setting is great in the summer (sitting outside), and especially during Christmas when the fire is on and the tree is up.

Wonderful location, we visited years ago, and decided it was time to visit again, my other half ordered the avocado salad, sadly the avocado wasn't that fresh, my own issue was the latte which was made with hot water rather than frothing milk which would have made a decent latte - small details but which would certainly make me want to return 🍰☕

A hidden gem in St Albans. I was in St Albans with my daughter back in August on a lovely sunny day, we discovered Abigails purely by chance, we wandered down a beautiful little arcade just window shopping as they were all closed, but at the end it opened up into a gorgeous garden area with Abigails tea room right at the edge of it, we decided to stop for something to eat and drink, the service was excellent as we're the sandwiches and selection of cakes, we really enjoyed ourselves and will be visiting again. My daughter loved it there so much that she would like her next birthday party to be there..

My first choice item on the menu was not available on that day. The waitress was brilliant. She was very cheerful & obliging. Nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend & I hope to visit again some time. I did not check if there were toilets as I was visiting the Abbey & knew they had nice washrooms l.

We stopped for a quick cuppa and a delicious bacon sandwich, and will definitely be returning soon, next time maybe for a full breakfast or lunch! It's also in such a lovely setting at the end of a little old fashioned shopping arcade, with an outlook over pretty gardens (with a patio where you can sit to consume your refreshments in agreeable weather!), and in the shadow of the beautiful St Albans Abbey.

Atmosphere: 5/5 Friendliness: 5/5 Food: 1/5 I really love the venue, it has so much potential - the staff is always been lovely and very welcoming. I had been here a couple of times to try different food and drinks however apart from the okayish sandwiches the quaility of the meal is a disaster. -Hot food: mainly microwaved, inlcuding the pie and the frozen vegetable -Bread: cheapest sliced bread. St Albans have fantastic bakeries, such a missed opportunity to shine -Coffee: watery -Hot chocolat: hot sugar drink with a hint of chocolat Cake: sometimes good, sometimes dry Abigails is cheap or "reasonably priced" , I would rather pay more to have better quaility food, I might be wrong but still don't think that increasing the price by £1 would drive away customers while that would definitely enable better ingredients.

I placed the order online and it was not registered in their system so I ended up waiting. But the problem was with the Sashimi where I found 2 thorns. The place doesn't have a customer service to express my disappointment, hence the review
