We’ve been coming to this restaurant for years, and the food and service have always been excellent. However, the prices have become quite steep compared to similar restaurants in the local area. They also have a branch in Canary Wharf, and it seems they charge the same prices at both locations. Unfortunately, London pricing in Loughton doesn’t quite work—it feels out of step with the local market. While we still enjoy dining here, we no longer come in large groups as we used to. We hope the management takes a closer look at this pricing discrepancy.

Chicken is so dry a jerk sauce is just spicy bqq just squirted on burnt chicken and the coleslaw isn’t good either. Only thing that was really really nice was the dumplings. Defo not worth the money at all so overpriced for what it is Caribbean cafe is so much better even brown eagle is better.

Great food and a great price! Always fresh and very nice! The local lunch spot every day, cooks your food, the right way!

Had dinner with my girlfriend last Saturday night, always met with a warm welcome by all the staff, the service was excellent and the food amazing as always. I would Highley recommend The Bengal to everyone as this is a real hidden gem.

Stone cold and no flavour at all £8.80 for 2 undercooked pies cold tasteless mash and cold green water never again will I bother save your money people

Just wanted to say thank you to the staff. My son comes in here once or twice a week for breakfast before his work experience starts in another store. He’s a young man with learning difficulties. He eats quickly and then just sits there after his Dad leaves. Staff have twigged him and they leave him be and keep an eye on him until he leaves for his work. They are very kind. Thank you.
