The best restaurants serving Default food in Kelvedon Braintree East of England

This was our third visit to the restaurant - the food was delicious and the service excellent. Staff were very attentive throughout the meal making our evening very enjoyable nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning.

Never been before but impressed. Really nice fish and chips, very nice atmosphere and the staff went above to be super kind to our kids and us. His name was Mickey.

Christmas lunch at Lovejoys with the family. Food great and very generous portions . The service was impeccable. Great day thank you so much.

We had our wedding at Prested Hall last month and it was PERFECT. Lauren and the team made the day run so smoothly. The venue was great, we had approx 100 guests, with the characterful building and different rooms for people to chat and eat created a buzzy atmosphere throughout. We had our ceremony in the orangery, a beautiful room and the outside grounds are stunning also. We were very lucky to have our wedding here and would highly recommend! Thanks again to PRESTED HALL and Team!

Visiting the area for a couple of days and sat in the garden for a glass of wine. Barman not particularly up to speed on what was what but in the end paid £22.80 for 2 large glasses of wine. This is a country pub not London and it banks on customers that probably won’t ho back. Feel I was ripped off and therefore would never go back. They also only had 2 selections of sandwiches available both meat, not good if your meat free

This used to be one of our favourite venues for lunch but sadly today will be our last visit. The choices on the fixed price menu are very limited and the portion sizes have shrunk dramatically. They should have increased the price rather than reduce the quality on offer. The fish (haddock) was very poor. The batter was nowhere near as good as it used to be. The burger on the a la carte was way overcooked and the bun toasted to destruction. Really not impressed at all and will not be back

Paid £49 for the smallest portions you’ve ever seen wouldnt get a takeaway from this place again if you were paying! Honestly who do they think they are??? Attaching photographs so you can see how ridiculous barely any meat just sauce what absolute scumbags!

As always , a brilliant place to go for a meal with friends. Wonderful food and great service. We hadn’t visited for a while as we live elsewhere now but it was lovely to return and find it still so good. Excellent on all counts.

Thought it may be different after giving it a swerve for a while but last week my partner stopped in for some fish and chips. The chips are clearly not cooked fresh each day they are like bits of wood, so rock hard I’ve never experienced anything like it. Maybe just avoid the chips if you use this place!

This place has been a pit stop for years because we like it.

Smoky chicken Cajun rice & drink for under a fiver isn’t bad but the wooden fork mixed in rice makes it a bit messy. Still better than a BK. These EG Group services always have rank loos!
