The best restaurants serving Default food in Southwell North Newark and Sherwood East Midlands

This restaurant is surprisingly good and you really should give it a try. Needs a smarten up from the outside, but decor inside is lovely. Four of us had different dishes- all really tasty and authentic. Great poppadoms and naans too. Good friendly service.

Had a market stall outside the pub today & I just wanted to say the landlady was fantastic! If she looks after customers the way she looked after us I can imagine it's a cracking place to socialise in. Thank you!

The food here is your standard pub grub stuff, the staff are great but the best bit about the place was the music that was playing in there.

Great place to sit down and wind down over a delicious Italian coffee. I ordered a latte and a pistachio cake - both were delicious. Plenty of seating indoors and out, though this can quickly fill at three weekends. We'll worth a visit.

Our first visit & it more than exceeded our expectations..arrived to a packed out Restaurant on a Thursday Lunch , sat next to a really lovely lady who was dining on her own . We got chatting with Judith who couldn't praise the food & owners enough. After devouring our Lamb Shank & Beef Bourginon we could see what she meant , house Sauvignon Blanc also very good .Lemon Tarts had sold out so we took home Coconut Macaroons instead . A really wonderful dining experience.. there was a real buzz about the place , people were leaving truly satisfied ..

My mum and I called in for lunch on Saturday lunchtime. The atmosphere felt chilled and there was a nice low hum of conversation around us. The staff were friendly and efficient, we felt. We had a good peruse of the menu, before choosing the daily specials. We did feel that some items were rather highly priced - soup and a roll was over £7, baked beans on toast was over £10!! Yet the main meal Specials were only £12.95 - which was reasonable. My mum really enjoyed her Quiche and salad and my Steak and Kidney Pie with mashed potato and vegetables was really tasty. Even a jug with the gravy in which was good.

We love coming here to meet friends, We divert from the the A1 when travelling from Essex anywhere north of Notts, As a coeliac family its my wife's happy place to be able to eat anything without worry. Yes its a little pricey but for us its the whole experience, Friendly staff, peaceful tranquil environment and a lovely view across the lake which makes it worth it. As times gone on we've been known to Hayley the owner as the Essex crowd and she always comes and says hello when she knows we're visiting. Yes it gets very busy and sometimes you have to wait but that is just a sign of its popularity and standards. Keep up the good work team All Mine Cakes By The Lake.

Mosedale’s staff welcomed me and my dog (Bruce) with a kind smile as soon as we entered. A wide variety of filled rolls and paninis was on offer. I must recommend treating yourself to a superb Carrot Cake! All in all I would definitely recommend!
