What a little gem this is tea room / coffee is, tucked out of sight at the back of a garden shop / gift / vintage / bric-a-brac/ games/ curio store, down a little laneway off Church Street in Ripley. It’s a bit off the trodden paths of Ripley, but deserves seeking out and spending a few moments here over a decent hot brew and a delectable cake. The cafe has that vintage, shabby chic, stylish junk shop feel, with its mismatched furnishings and different seating areas (table and chairs, and sofas), surrounded by odd bits of clutter and gifts for sale. It works, and looks homely and welcoming, with the feel of an old country cottage. But it pulls a punch, at extremely reasonable prices. The hot chocolate and mocha we enjoyed were excellent, and were much better than our experience at a Starbucks outlet earlier in the day! I’m not sure if coffee is barista style, though there was a good selection of the usual latte, cappuccino and Americano varieties available, as well as pots of filter coffee and speciality teas. And what an amazing array of cakes, cookies, and slices which are available for your morning or afternoon tea: rainbow cake, harvest cake, carrot cake, triple chocolate cake, chocolate brownies, and black current, fruit and granola, and rocky road slices and the like, with gluten free and vegan options available! A huge slice of rainbow cake was only £2.50. The menu is quite comprehensive, and caters for the breakfast, lunch, and morning and afternoon tea crowd. Breakfast and lunch items are fairly simple fare, such as beans and scrambled eggs on toast, jacket potatoes, and a good selection of sandwiches, paninis and toasties made to order. Cream teas with fruit scones and clotted cream are also available. You can grab a board game to play while waiting or enjoying your refreshments; there’s also complimentary WiFi. We enjoyed our visit, and will definitely return. It’s quirky, and unpretentious, with efficient service. It’s also spotlessly clean, with a top hygiene rating. The toilets were fresh and clean. It's also very child friendly; some tables are laid with games and activities for the kiddies! It’s only open Wednesday through to Saturday, with the coffee shop closing at 15:30. Unfortunately for wheelchair users, there's stairs at the front, and there's a lot of shelves and display units in the gift shop part of the complex that you'll have to weave your way through to get to the tearoom. However, there's seating outside if it's a nice day. Places like this deserve patronage! Give it a go!

Firstly not regarding the food we went last night for a family meal for my sons 21st birthday and we took 8 people. i have to say the staff where absolutely amazing , so helpful , very attentive and went above and beyond to make us all feel special and the whole service was top quality. Now to the food. i have written reviews on Katmandu's food before and this will be no different. Every course including the poppadoms etc were cooked perfectly. This is one of the few curry restaurants were you can see that the meat in the curries is actually fresh and not hard lumps. All 8 people loved the food with everyone having different apart from my son and myself who had duck madras so im sure we cant all be wrong. We will without fail be back soon.

Finally a chippy that opens later than most other places! This one has become our local. Staff are always nice, food is good and the batter it top notch. Price is on point too, what you'd expect, but they do give good portion sizes too. All in, a great chippy. Looking forward to. The next time we get a hankering for chippy tea and curry.

We were part of a large group from our local bowls club that had booked for a pre-Xmas lunch. A two course meal (starter and main) with the option of a dessert at additional cost. The main course was a buffet carvery with four different meat selections - turkey, beef, pork and lamb, (you could select any two from the four) - plus a good selection of vegetables. The carvery chef was generous with portions and the quality was excellent. All in all, a very good meal and thoroughly recommended.

I visit this café a couple of times a week for filled rolls or salads for a disabled friend of mine who is housebound. The quality of the food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. I usually telephone and order in advance and the food is invariably ready on time. The staff are very friendly. I thoroughly recommend this café

Lovely clean cafe plenty of choice on the menu. They need to up there game a very poor bacon sandwich dry bacon inside white sliced bread totally flavorless. Big hot mug coffee which looked promising also flavorless. Not expensive but you get what you pay for. On a plus point the staff were delightful.

This was a wonderful little cafe with lovely coffee and a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Sadly now closed because local people chose to go to Costa, rather than supporting a great local business! Shame on them 🤬

Have used this cafe regularly since moving from Wales, have tired other cafes in the area but in my opinion this the best. decent menu choice nice home made soups, decent portions, food is hot not just warm, serve the one of the fresh salads I have had for a longtime. Pleasant and very friendly staff. Ok it is only a cafe but it is well worth a visit if you are in Ripley Price are not over the top either

Who knew this hidden gem was here!! Nipped in for a quick coffee with the husband and was greeted by the most friendly and outgoing team. Honestly, the coffee was wonderful and just how I like it with hint of Vanilla. Given how nice the atmosphere were we thought let's try the food which was good on the pocket too and was delicious!! We had a toastie and panini which was just the right size for a spot of afternoon lunch, with a side of crisps and a little salad. whilst there we noticed the infused teas, which we are a big lover of the infused teas in life, it was a must to try with a food and did not let us down. We also had the pleasure of meeting the new owner Sara and her son Jack, it was a pleasure having a chat with them and hearing all about their plans. All I can say is I can't wait to come back next week and try more of their delicious menu!
