This was a wonderful little cafe with lovely coffee and a relaxed friendly atmosphere. Sadly now closed because local people chose to go to Costa, rather than supporting a great local business! Shame on them 🤬

Our favourite coffee shop in Ripley. Always a friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere where you can meet and chat with the regulars. The coffee is top quality So much better than the soul-less coffee chains!

A very friendly place, staff always have a smile. Great coffee and cakes. I know the coffee is sourced and roasted locally, and cakes are made fresh on site. I cannot recommend this cafe highly enough. Definitely worthwhile a visit.

Went there yesterday 7th October. We sat out side which was very pleasant.Went in to order a tea and a coffee.I was greeted by a very freindly lady and placed my order, which was a tea and a coffee, which came to cirka £5.50.It arrived promptly. However my partners cup was dirty. She asked for a replacement which was quickly done with no fuss.Sadly the second cup was also not clean. The teaspoons were also stained. We didn't want to complain again. How diffacult is it to serve beverages in a clean cup with clean utensils? I'd rather have gone to Costa where you know everything will be clean. We won't be returning.

This has become our “go to” place for coffee when in Ripley. Very friendly staff, not a big place although they do takeaways if there are no tables available. Not a large menu due to the size of the place but great if you just want coffee & cake, (the home made scones are fabulous)!!Most definitely worth a visit in support of a small local business.

We were at a residential conference in the area and wanted to get off site for a coffee during the afternoon break so looked on Trip Advisor for somewhere in the area. Amber was spot on what we needed: very good coffee, yummy cakes, friendly service and relaxed ambience where we could sit and have a good natter together. Thank you for welcoming us - one man, four women and a baby!

Been here for lunch and love this little coffee shop, last few times we’ve been in we had the homemade soup and it’s always tasty. Love the interior of the shop and much prefer to give trade to these types of coffee shops instead of the large chains.

My husband and I go to Amber for coffee a lot. Its our favourite coffee shop in Ripley. The drinks are always of fantastic quality, made quickly and brought to the table. There are light bites available such as tea cakes, sandwiches and soups, and there are always plenty of cakes on the counter, including vegan and gluten free options. The servers are lovely, especially Hayley, offering a welcoming environment and friendly conversation. The coffee shop itself is small and cosy, tastefully decorated and always kept immaculately clean. On warmer days there is a table outside on Oxford Street. In addition to this the prices are very reasonable, with two coffees and two cakes coming in for around £10. I can't recommend this little beauty enough.

Amber is a cut above the rest when it comes to places to sit, relax, and enjoy a coffee. Lovely atmosphere, great decor and friendly staff add to the experience. For anyone who enjoys a good cup of coffee then at Amber you will get a GREAT cup of coffee; you won't want to go back to one of those big high street chains. Good prices and home made produce to a very high standard. Coffee for 'on-the-go' or sit, chat and chill. But be warned; this is fast becoming a popular place to visit, so you may not always get a table. But isn't a full coffee shop usually a sign of quality and popularity! Well worth a try. It's certainly my choice from now on when I'm in Ripley.

Thanks to a random choice we chose Café G. What a lucky choice. On a grey day it felt welcoming, the overall impressions were clean, despite a small footprint not small or crowded, and the furniture was just right for the pleasant décor. Then two simple meals later we were well satisfied with the short wait, the pleasant service and the presentation of a well cooked meal.

The food is excellent and so are the staff. It is a very friendly country style cafe with a homely feel. Their breakfasts are fab. So are their dinners and a great choice of deserts. Their pies are fab nice and meaty with no fat. Served with whatever you want. However, with their special potatoes & peas they are lovely. There is a great choice of food and it is all home made. Claire and family who run it are so nice and they are very attentive and helpful. We call it our local and we would not go anywhere else. Well done to all the staff.

I called by for a quick breakfast sandwich takeaway before work. I wanted to spend at a local independent business and try somewhere new. I wish I hadn’t picked here… I ordered a sausage sandwich for £3 and chucked it straight in the bin after one bite. Chewy microwaved pre-cooked sausages on cheap white bread with a measly bit of ketchup. I wouldn’t even pay 50p for that. The owners should be ashamed of this… if this is the usual standard of food I’d expect them to be closed down soon.
