Monty's Cafe Bar in Amber Valley

Lovely clean cafe plenty of choice on the menu. They need to up there game a very poor bacon sandwich dry bacon inside white sliced bread totally flavorless. Big hot mug coffee which looked promising also flavorless. Not expensive but you get what you pay for. On a plus point the staff were delightful.

In my humble opinion, this small cafe, tucked away in the middle of Oxford Street in Ripley is the best cafe in the world. This isn't just hyperbole, and neither do I own the place, I just adore the place. It is a cafe thwlat very much feels at the heart of the community - the sort of place where locals go to meet, chat and enjoy oneanothers company. This is fostered by the man who I presume owns the cafe. I don't know his name (I hope it is Monty) but he is a lovely man who always takes time to chat with the customers, enquire as to their wellbeing and seems genuinely pleased when he sees someone who hasn't been in in a while. You don't have to visit often before you begin to feel like a local either. It's such a lovely place. This is all coupled with the fact that the food in here is pretty damn good, with an impressively extensive menu. I can highly recommend the sausage, egg and black pudding cob with a nice big cup of tea. Perfection. If you're in Ripley and are looking for something to eat and/or drink, stop in at Monty's Cafe Bar. You will NOT be disappointed.

Montys is a great cafe. We have been going here for years. Very friendly and accommodating. Great homemade food, we especially like their steak pie

I've gone here for years for breakfast, always served fast, nice food and so pleasant and incredibly nice! Always so friendly and accommodating especially patient and kind to children, lovely cafe.

I went to Monty's today and I wish I could give it more than five stars. A lovely welcome and from what I saw of other people's food (I only had soup and tea) the breakfasts looked good.Spotlessly clean and nice staff, Monty's is a perfect café.

I've just be to Montys and had a very tasty full English breakfast. The cafe was lovely and clean, the staff very friendly. The breakfast was great with free tea or coffee at a fair price.

Monty's is the best café in Ripley. Good food made to order, and prices are reasonable. The café is very clean and the staff very friendly and always make you welcome, makes no difference if you just want a cup of tea or a meal. It's a place to meet up with friends, or have a break from shopping you can be sure of good service and warm welcome.

Excellent home cooked food at good value with very friendly service even offers decaefanated tea and coffee

We always visit this cafe when we are in Ripley because we like the good value food and the warm welcome we receive. We have never had any complaints and there is something for everyone in a nice environment and good location, try it for yourselves!

The staff here are extremely helpful and friendly, there is a lovely young waitress who is always very helpful to me and my granddad and a gentleman that always asked how we are. The food is lovely also, fast service and cooked well.

Coffee and a bacon cob but new member of staff struggled with the coffee machine. How a place recovers from this situation says so much and the owner quickly resolved the issue delivering two superb cups of coffee. Well done.

Popped in with husband as Truffles was closed, had 2 coffees and a toasted tea cake, it was okay nothing special however the owner, I assume it was, lovely chap and very welcoming. Would u go back, yes if Truffles closed.

Mi marido y yo fuimos a la cafetería para tomar un rápido desayuno inglés completo. El personal nos pareció muy atractivo y acogedor. El lugar en sí una pequeña renovación, pero las consultas puede ser perdonado. El propio parecía conocer a todos sus clientes habituales y sus pedidos por el nombre favorito, que era preciosa de ver. El desayuno era encantador y venía de la manera en que especifican tanto, que sin duda nos alojaremos allí de nuevo la próxima vez que en la ciudad.

Have started to eat breakfast here a couple of times a month and the owner is so friendly and recognises us when we visit. Lovely food at a good price with helpful no cheery staff.

We've visited Monty's cafe a few times now and never had a bad breakfast, the staff are always friendly and helpful, will go in again when we can.

Mi marido y yo estábamos de compras en Ripley hoy y decidimos ir a Monty's para el almuerzo. Estaba muy concurrido, pero el propietario llegó a nosotros casi inmediatamente. Nos decidimos por una hamburguesa y patatas fritas para Monty me y patatas fritas cornish pasty y frijoles para él. Había un poco de espera, pero el propietario se disculpó y que realmente no era un problema.

Pagué £3,70 para una taza de té y un bollo. El bollo era totalmente seco y totalmente comestible, el té está bien.

I've been a few times to monty's on Oxford st, Ripley and have always enjoyed eating there.Family owned, and the proprietor is always on his feet taking orders and making sure you're happy with your visit.Serves Breakfasts and Dinners all at reasonable prices and it's pay on exit so it proves that they're confident that you'll be happy with your meal!I had the Monty Burger with chips , served with salad (Red cabbage, lettuce and tomato), and was more than enough.Recommend the cappuccino - but still could go the extra offering different flavoured syrups - but you have to remind yourself that this is Ripley - Subway shut down because it was to exotic!

Friendly staff, very hospitable. Lovely cappucino and nicely-presented jacket potato and salad. Ideal place for a snack whilst shopping.

this resturant is very clean .the owners are very polite alsoso are thestaff. the meals are loverly taste very nicely cooked fresh food ..every thing is exellent we have been in there alot.its beautiful inside.well worth every penny .loverly owners . very friendly people.my advice is go annd have a meal and enjoy your selves.you will return im sure of this ..

I always used to love Monty's back when it was a clothes shop and so I felt compelled to try out the cafe that opened in its wake. I visited with my fiancé as we had been doing a little grocery shopping and just decided on something quick.Unfortunately, the food was very poor. My burger was the kind that you could tell was cheaply made and my fiancé's breakfast was greasy and not worth the money. The place was cosy and nice, but the staff seemed uptight and didn't have much patience with us. They just seemed to be more interested in talking to people they knew (I assume regulars) in the corner and made it clear that they didn't have time for us.I'll chalk it up to it being an off day, so I will go again to try the food once more. I always like to give places more than one chance.

Very clean ,with a warm welcome upon arrival.Menu was much more varied than I expected ,food arrived fast and it seemed like effort had been made in its presentation.Super,super cheap but no cut in quality at all I'd highly recommended a visit ,start to finish I wasn't able to fault a thing I had the special which was Yorkshire pud with sausage ,mash ,veg & gravy.The wife had a small full English which was far from small.Both were perfect and came with a hot drink each all for under £10 hard to beat that

Popped into Monty's cafe in Ripley today and had the Roast Beef dinner. Difficult to improve on anything. Generous portions of good cooked food and even a gravy boat on the table in case I needed more... Excellent meal for £5:50 alongside a friendly proprietor and staff makes this the place to go if you're peckish in Ripley.
