Very good quality and quantity of food with cheaper price than other Chinese restaurants in UK. Haven’t seen any dishes more than £10 each, which is very rare as most are around £11-13. We have three people and the price is around £28, and it’s a lot of food that I was very full that day. In other places it’s often around £45. Just need to walk a little longer to get to this restaurant. Best Chinese restaurant I’ve been in UK.

Unfortunately I have to leave a negative review which I would not normally do however this once wonderful Chinese has clearly changed hands recently and tumbled very far downhill from being the best Chinese restaurant in Swansea by miles to the worst I've been to in a long time. I'm leaving this review because there is no overt indication that there has been a change of management but it is obvious in a few ways including a distinct lack of Chinese clientele who were once abundant. We were offered traditional vegan and non-vegan menus which were the identical menus we were used to and all ordered familiar dishes. While waiting we were asked several times to confirm items that had been ordered off the menus which has never happened before and communicated a lack of confidence from the kitchen staff. We also all noticed that cutlery was sticky to the touch so clearly not clean and that plates did not look clean (the women's toilet is also pretty disgusting). Then when the food came out nothing looked familiar and in place of the beautiful velveted pork and beef we are accustomed to in our non-vegan dishes were stir fried pork and beef rolls, the kind served on platters for flash-cooking in a hotpot, which were horribly over cooked and chewy. If the restaurant cannot produce the meals on their non-vegan menu, why offer it? The smoky depth of flavour from the wok has also completely vanished. We have been here many times before and have always cleared our plates and wondered at the high standard of the food but this time I ate nothing, it was inedible slop. We also had to endure the chef coming out and speaking loudly with another table declaring the hotpot to be the best in the UK because of the special chillies he uses that can't be sourced by anyone else! Oh come on! A level of arrogance we have never seen even a glimpse of before. Oh come on! A level of arrogance we have never seen even a glimpse of before. To add insult to injury, on being handed our menus, we were directed to observe a sticker that had been placed on the vegan menus saying all prices were increased by £1 for sit-in customers. So we actually paid more to eat much less at a restaurant trying to pass itself off as something it most definitely is not. I can only assume the management has changed - nobody I saw tonight was familiar to me from our previous visits. However even if this isn't the case, there has been a big change here and not a positive one. Whether it has indeed changed hands or just changed suppliers or chefs, I think that the restaurant should be upfront about this rather than trying to pass itself off as the same Star Bar Swansea knows and loves.

Been dying to try this place for such a long time and finally managed to get round to it. The staff are friendly and were happy to provide us with recommendations. The dumplings are delicious, made to order and very fresh. The noodle dishes are full of flavour. Would definitely recommend, great find in Swansea!

Absolutely amazing, service was excellent from the lady that served at the counter, great understanding of gluten free even a separate gluten free menu, everything was labelled as well. All of the food was freshly cooked, was lovely to have fresh vegetables in the food and flavour excelled any Chinese we have had since living in wales. Husband had the normal menu and was fantastic as well. My first gluten free chicken ball in 13 years with curry sauce, fresh chicken breast with small amount of batter. Is all I can say is we will definitely be back again. Cannot wait for you to be back from your holidays.

I had chicken curry and noodles and a portion of samosas (which looked like the frozen ones you get from Tesco. It didn't taste of much other than salt and incredibly greasy. I only ate a quarter of it.Not sure fi it was connected to the meal or the kit kat I also had that day, but something gave me insane diarroeah and left me feeling very sick.

Special chow mein was a chicken chow mein. Special curry had no mushrooms or prawns. The saucy was extremely salty and wasn’t finished. The ribs were god quality and a thick sauce. Will give this a miss in future. It was a late night option, but salt levels were insane.
