Nines Global Buffet in Swansea

I came today evening. Bigger group of ppl. I was told upstairs that I have to pay adult price for my child because she is over 145 cm. A person on the till was very rude (upstairs) but the other staff members, I can’t complain. Food was good but not a lot of choice I think I will back in the future.

We arrived at around 7pm, child at age 10 had to pay for an adult meal too because she was over 145 cm tall. The person at the till was very rude, rest of the staff were lovely. The food what was left was delicious, however we haven't had much choice because they packed away most of the food at 8pm. Hardly any dessert left only 2 or 3 variaty. We still had to pay full price (£25 per person) So I would strongly advise to come early.

Lovely clean restaurant. Food was limited especially desserts. Staff tried taking your plates before you were finished.

Food ain’t of the highest quality but no all you can eat buffet is, saying that the food tasted good everything was fresh, place was very clean and staff were very pleasant and polite, definitely go there again.

Some foods were like salty,another's didn't have properly taste.For vegetarian is harder 😔 😕, don't have many choices.

Food was cold.. the cakes from the deserts were hard .. got told can swap food, what for the same cold food LOL

The buffet offered a great variety of fresh dishes, from savory hot foods to delicious desserts. The atmosphere was lively, and the service was attentive. Overall, a satisfying experience for all tastes.

As you pay before u go downstairs to eat you can’t see what’s there till you go downstairs. I wouldn’t have paid if I knew what it was like down there . Food was cold and dried up under the heaters, hardly anything there apart from Chinese and pizza none of the other stands open. There were 7 of us . We all walked out the place isn’t clean it’s actually quite grubby and things need repairing / updating .. also they seen only 2 of our party ad made a plate up and not ate the food as it wasn’t edible , kids food like nuggets etc were burnt and hard. They agreed to refund us. They need to state on their website what’s actually available not say some stations might not be open they need to say only Chinese and 2 pizzas and some nuggets available. To be fair the staff did refund us after we complained

A nice buffet with a decent atmosphere and lovely decorations. However the food selection is very limited, with maybe around 2 dishes per area being a true "special", the rest being staple foods.

Went to nines yesterday Sunday 16/02/25 been up all night with food poisoning avoid with all costs

Absolutely disappointed, came here for my birthday yesterday on the 16th of feb hoping to enjoy my day and have some yummy food and not was absolutely disgraceful. I came home went to bed and early hours this morning I was up being sick and with severe diarrhoea. Would not recommend. The chicken in the tikka masala was not cooked properly I only realised once I ate most of it. Very very disappointed

The ice cream bar has been down for a while now, it’s part of the package. Management is quite poor as well. Hand rails broken, main door is stiff as w ll

Don’t bother coming here, it is not what it used to be and the staff are careless. Me and my brother arrived on a Sunday expecting a student discount as the website stated it was offered everyday except Saturday. On arrival, the receptionist lady claimed a student discount didn’t exist and continued to be rude about it, eager to rid of us and send us downstairs. When seated, the staff seemed miserable and we noticed that half of the desert section as well as a broken ice machine. A big shame as they’re usually our favourite parts of the buffet and should always be included, especially with the overpriced per head charge. I then tried to contact Nines formally through email to complain about the experience and I’ve had no response for 3 days now. My family used to love coming here but now expectations have dropped and it is safe to say we will not be returning.

Good food in a pleasant restaurant. Good selection of Chinese and Indian food for a lunchtime buffet. Would recommend.

We visited Swansea on a holiday when we came across Nines and had the best evening. It is a great venue with lovely staff and the set up is done so well. We had an amazing time. Good value for money and best one I have been to. Highly recommend.

I'll start with saying the food on the whole was nice enough, especially the oriental section. Everyone enjoyed. 2 major gripes. One is charging children over 140cm full price. My son is 9 and over 140cm but eats like a small child not an adult. No leeway at all. 2nd is the place needs repairs . You charge enough, yet you can't be bothered to make things safe. the hand rail is held on with some ties and you have the cheek to put 2 signs on it which you can't see until you've already placed a hand on it. If you cant use the handrail and it's hanging off then it's a health and safety issue. Other areas were run down too. At least have the decency to do the much needed repairs. Staff on the whole were great in the restaurant and very attentive.

Booked a table for three people , food good but not enough choices for vegetarians. Well priced.

First time here and food was amazing. Was a nice chilled atmosphere and staff were great.

This place has really gone downhill. We visited on Wednesday for lunch and were greeted by a sign in the foyer telling us to pay downstairs at the bar before eating. We had to queue up with everyone who wanted drinks and there was only one member of staff behind the bar so it took about 15 minutes before we could pay and actually get something to eat. One of our party needed to sit down while we were waiting so he went to sit at a table. The woman behind the bar immediately shouted out, "He hasn't paid!" across the restaurant to a member of the waiting staff. This was just plain rude and embarrassing. When we finally got to help ourselves to food, it really wasn't worth the wait. Most of the dishes were cold or lukewarm, not good especially as you are dealing with rice and chicken. This is a food poisoning disaster waiting to happen. When I informed a member of staff about this, she dismissed what I was saying and told me she could see steam coming from the food! Other diners were also complaining. The ice cream machine was out of order (and has been for some time according to a member of staff) so choice of desert was very limited. A broken handrail on the main staircase and a detached toilet seat just added to the tiredness of the place. Do yourself a favour, avoid this place and eat somewhere else.

Este lugar ha ido cuesta abajo. Visitamos el miércoles para el almuerzo y nos recibió un cartel en el vestíbulo que nos dice que paguemos abajo en el bar antes de comer. Tuvimos que hacer cola con todos los que querían bebidas y solo había un miembro del personal detrás de la barra, así que tomó unos 15 minutos antes de que pudiéramos pagar y realmente conseguir algo de comer. Uno de nuestros miembros necesitaba sentarse mientras esperábamos, así que fue a sentarse a una mesa. La mujer detrás de la barra inmediatamente gritó: "¡No ha pagado!" al otro lado del restaurante a un miembro del personal de espera. Esto fue simplemente grosero y embarazoso. Cuando finalmente pudimos servirnos la comida, realmente no valió la pena esperar. La mayoría de los platos eran fríos o tibios, no es bueno, especialmente cuando se trata de arroz y pollo. Este es un desastre por intoxicación alimentaria esperando a que suceda. Cuando le informé a un miembro del personal sobre esto, ella desestimó lo que estaba diciendo y me dijo que podía ver vapor proveniente de la comida! Otros comensales también se quejaban. La máquina de helado estaba fuera de servicio (y lo ha estado durante algún tiempo según un miembro del personal) por lo que la elección del desierto era muy limitada. Un pasamanos roto en la escalera principal y un asiento de inodoro separado acaban de agregar al cansancio del lugar. Hazte un favor, evita este lugar y come en otro lugar.

Le pido a cualquiera que lea esto, por favor, no malgaste su dinero aquí. Quítamelo de encima. Fui ayer con mi madre y mi hijo de 3 años. No había un artículo de comida que estuviera caliente, no exagero. Hacía frío helado o tibio. Nos quejamos y el gerente nos dijo que hace frío afuera, por lo tanto la comida está fría. También dijo que no podía darnos un reembolso como si nos diera uno a nosotros, entonces tendría que dar uno a todos. Le dijimos que debería advertir a sus clientes antes de que paguen que la comida es tibia y dijo que no podía hacer eso, ya que no tendría clientes. Así que engañar a la gente para que pague por comida por debajo de la media. La selección fue tan pobre también. Realmente fue el peor receso en el que he estado, ¡no puedo creer que siga funcionando!

The lunch time was clearly not a good time to go. Half the stations were not running, so all the good stuff was missing. Ice cream machine not working today, apparently. Very sad salad bar, only about 5 different desserts, I think I had more in my fridge this christmas just for our family! Food was edible, but not very hot. Nice that there was free water! Would not return.

Not much selection of food at all, food is really bland hardly no taste… massive language barrier… Ice cream tastied of pure fuel/gas, said something and the woman came over and said she tried it and tasted normal when it definitely didn’t, worried it isn’t safe to eat as it actually tasted of gas🙄

Most of the trays empty and the food that was out was bland and cold. Avoid this place, the price is extortionate for what you get. I wouldn’t even pay £5 to eat this rubbish.

It's a buffet at the end of the day. Not expecting Bras quality food, but atleast for it to taste of what the description above the tray says. That is if there's anything in the tray to begin with. The price for a single person is around £22, which in my opinion is a little expensive. Then you buy your own drinks at the bar but there appears to be free water available too. When you factor in the refillable glass on top you're over the £25 threshold, which is just simply too much for the quality (or lack of) on offer. The Sunday Dinner section looked like it had been prepared by a blind chimpanzee. Alot of the dishes that were close to empty weren't refilled for the entire time we were there Listen if you have a family of 4 (x2 kids) you're looking at close to £90 for everyone. Save ya money and skip this ridiculous restaurant.

Lady Refused to serve my son a milkshake and when he asked why she said she was to busy.. he was paying like any other customers. So he had to sit without a drink as he has autism and won't drink anything else. I have been alot of times but never again absolutely disgusting service

Great all you can eat buffet. Rather expensive though. Fairly child friendly.

Staff didn’t even greet us. Got a refund before we even sat down properly. Were refused a drink because they were cashing up. (An hour and a half before they stopped serving) went to sit at table and it stank of drains and toilets. Staff didn’t know how to process refund. Very unorganised. Also very very limited vegetarian options despite being advertised as veggie friendly.

Best to go at lunchtime when quiet

Not impressed as the food was only warm!!!and it hadn't been topped up so lot's of dishes were almost empty. Didn't think the price reflects the food on offer. On the plus side very clean,plates were cleared very promptly enabling you to top up again. Felt the dessert section was tiny portions and limited. Wouldn't visit again as I feel the price is extortionate especially if you have small children and they couldn't eat so much food to justify the price. Staff were very pleasant but not very interactive with customers.

Coming to this pace with family and friends. Always happy with the atmosphere and a lot of choices of food .

The food was nice, but for the price it should have been a lot better, I was not tempted by the live cooking station at all, the staff were quick to clear the tables and they seemed friendly, I wouldn't come here regularly due to the cost, its a shame there wasn't more selection, this would have made the cost a bit more acceptable

Had lunch buffet. Food was average quality and not hot enough, barely warm with some items. Staff were pretty miserable and we can't recommend this restaurant based on this visit. We certainly will not return.

Not amazing, limited options for vegetarians and half of the stations were closed, or empty. Food wasn’t that fresh in all honesty. Found pork in the veg noodles sadly. Not worth the £21.99 and £3.60 for a drink. The bar staff member was very rude. We waited at the bar without her acknowledging us, and when I asked for a bottomless drink, she acted like it was the greatest inconvenience to her. Along with my friend’s experience - she held her hand up to him signalling him to wait, unprofessional to say the least.

Fantastic evening bar is great, eat as much steak as you like. Cooked fresh. Edit* new management, food isn't the same, sections been removed, had to bassicly demand more lamb for the evening bar even though they had tubs full on the fridge, acting like none was available even though it was early evening, atmosphere not great anymore, deserts wear really bad and no chocolate fountain, bought some pitcher for 22 quid and bassicly had a whole freezer of ice, really not good. Been coming here nearly every other week for years as a family, will find else where now.

Me and my family went to this buffet at the end of our holiday all the food was delicious and had a lot of variety and even an entire section to pudding but unfortunately the chocolate fountain was not there the staff were very nice and the decor looked very fancy would definitely recommend and it's worth all the money

Just visited Nines Global Buffet Swansea all I can say to everyone is honestly AVOID AT ALL COST! Went up to get a plate of food all of our drinks were moved from the table including a purse and our coats- when we asked where all of our belongings had gone we were told “the man has taken them” when asking who is this man we were told he’s finished? They misteriously found our belongings behind the reception? When we looked in the purse all of the contents including all the cash that was inside!! The manager on duty refused to help us, was aggressive screaming at us all out of the restaurant- when going back in to give our details all the staff were smirking and acting so dodgy- safe to say it was my first & LAST time I will ever enter such a disgusting vile place in my whole life- eaten 1 chip which was stone hard and I wouldn’t let my dog eat here- be very very wary- We have reported it to the police and are currently sat outside waiting for them EDIT (UPDATE) - staff member had stolen the contents of the purse and was caught on CCTV. She was dismissed from her job and had files charged. The owner of the buisness was then VERY apologetic after wales online made a story on the case which gave them negative review. STAY AWAY

Here to celebrate birthday. My nephew is a fussyeater. However, there was lots on offer, and he thought he enjoyed the cheese and tomato pizza! Fantastic choice, food was amazing, and setting was lovely. We will most definitely return soon. Many thanks.

Buffets are not really my thing as I cringe at the binge but this is a well run place and the food quality and range is good. I was particularly impressed with how they showed each dishes ingredients for special dietary requirements.

I was very excited to go to this food place , on the website showedloads of different country foods like Italian and Spanish another foods that hash browns and ribs and other stuff like that , but most of it was a Chinese food and Indian food the chips were cold , and all the other food I tried wasn't a restaurant standard and tasted like food from the supermarket the desserts were alright the tiramisu was very strong but the other things tasted alright also the sweet and sour sauce is very very nice , the staff are very very nice I just seemed pretty clean in there , they had a ice cream machine which was very very cool , and you can refill drinks many times for free its ok there but don't trust the website

With So many tasty dishes to choose from, this place gives you good value for your money. it was quite busy at lunchtime on bank holiday Monday; the food is fresh hot and tasty and I had a great treat with my family. Look forward to dining here again

Been down this evening with the other half, Not great start toilets all flooded staff lovely on arrival though. Food well the food was horrendous putting it generously there, just scraps barely warm rice all over cooked not much choice as advertised. Won’t be returning again has gone down hill loads waste of £50/£60 10/10 for the fizzy pop 👍

Visited here in the day and was disappointed. We both had the bottomless drinks and I had lemonade and my partner had pepsi max, both had been watered down and were flat. Very little choice on offer for 14 pound. The chicken tikka masala didn't even taste like the curry. Literally no sauce. Very poor and food was luke warm.

I really like the food here, it's worth the price to get so many different things and I love these short ribs, they are very tender. I am very satisfied with the service and the staff is very friendly. I will come back again

The worst beef in black bean I have ever eaten, it was bland and overly chewy, the Chinese chicken curry was like water, nothing had any flavour whatsoever, except a weird prawny aftertaste. The deserts were disgusting 🤢

I recently visited this restaurant expecting a variety of international cuisines as advertised, but was disappointed to find that the selection was primarily Chinese food. While they did offer some chicken nuggets and chips, the diversity of dishes was lacking. Additionally, the food wasn't very hot, which was quite disappointing. If you enjoy Chinese cuisine, you might still find it worthwhile, but for those looking for a true world cuisine experience, this place might fall short of expectations.

All the different rices were crunchy and hard as they had obviously been sat a while and weren't getting shifted about regularly. As we went at lunch time, there wasn't much food on offer. Duck pancakes had ran out, food was everywhere like spilled all on counters and over serving spoons so not very clean and tidy, hardly any dessert choice, chicken tikka masala tasted disgusting and the chicken had a weird taste. We had a bad belly after it. Will not be returning.

Went last night and thought everything was good but boy oh boy was I wrong. My stomach was like a washing machine on spin cycle all night and the stuff that has come out of both ends is unbelievable. Just don't do it to yourself.

There’s a vast array of fresh and tasty dishes. The ambiance is pleasant and clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s a great deal for the price. Highly recommend!

The selection of food is extensive and everything is delicious and fresh. The environment is clean and inviting, and the service is excellent. The price is reasonable, offering great value. Definitely worth a visit!

Full menu wasn't available, frozen cake on counter, rice was very salty and pepsi tasted like soda water.

What was once a great and lovely place to go out has unfortunately gone downhill. Paid full price for eating at dinner time, but with less selection than the last time I visited. All the food was either watery and oily, or it was as dry as the Sahara. The dessert choices were nice, pulling it up from 1 star. But at £115 for 5 people, I expected a lot more. Visited again today (27 Feb 2023) - still overpriced, Free birthday meal wasn't given because you need 5 paying adults to get it. Student discounts are offered on the website, but in the restaurant I was told there are no student discounts. This place isn't worth it. Reduced rating down to 1 star. 30 May 2024 - improved since the last visit. Food was enjoyable and atmosphere was OK.

Bank holiday weekend night out, lovely buffet food with lovely service. A staff I think she’s the buffet runner used her limited English to help us up to explain the vegetarian options. very appreciated it, my two kids love the pink popcorns and ice cream………. I will said is nice family place to eat out.

Second time I’ve ordered food from here, second time it hasn’t turned up.

Nines Global Buffet Swansea absolutely outrageous customer service!! Just phoned the restaurant as I’ve undergone a gastric sleeve so can barely eat anything. Totally understand adult and child pricing is different as an adult would eat more however I refuse to pay £25 and end up eating 3 mouthfuls of food. I explained the situation and asked the lady if I would be able to pay for a child’s plate as I’d barely be able to finish one let alone go up for more and she told me this wasn’t an option. She then proceeded to imply that I was trying to scam them by paying for less and eating more. I said to her I was happy to bring a piece of paper signed by my surgeon for piece of mind to which she replied “if you can’t eat much then you will have to come in and eat nothing at all, only pay for the one adult who’s coming with you”. Seeing as I made it very clear at the beginning of the call the enquiry was regarding a birthday reservation I think this is totally laughable. It’s unfortunate that some places just cannot let go of that extra bit of money for food that’s going to be thrown straight in the bin anyway. I did make it obvious that this was really disappointing and she couldn’t have cared less if she tried. Only one thing they could’ve taken from this was to be more accommodating to customers with medical conditions instead of robbing people blind!! I accept that is their policy but the way she spoke to me was disgraceful especially telling me that if I can’t manage an adult plate then to not order anything at all is crazy!! As if I’d sit there and watch Liv eat all by herself for her birthday???!! Never been to Nines before and will definitely be staying that way after today’s experience.

It's exactly as the website describes, a lot of choice for all different tastes. Drinks from the bar are over priced compared to other places.

This place has really gone downhill food absolutely shocking sitting there for hours not much selection anymore even on a Saturday where I payed over £80 for me and my daughter with drinks and hardly ate anything nowhere near close to what I payed very disappointed won't be returning 😢

This restaurant has been here for such a long time, it's become a staple for us as a great buffet. We have been celebrating here most birthdays and outings and have always been told they Seperate oils between different foods. However, we've been told recently that now, everything is cooked in the same oil. Especially when asked about pork and others. They said everything is mixed. So no longer vegetarian, nor halal or kosher. Quite upsetting, and seems like new management has no interest in changing also. Will miss the restaurant as its quite a variety there.

So first of all, its £28 which is obseen. I got an allergy of dairy and they checked me over with a blood test after i collapsed to the ground and suffered a attack to my left hammy. Food was mid and staff were rude. But i saw Matty Grimes and his bird there so boosts the star up from 1 to 3

Hot food was actually cold, the rice's , the curries , the potatoes , onion rings , everything my family had was cold. The plates are usually warm but even they were cold . The only nice thing there was the ice cream . Been there a few times in the past and was always nice and warm food , will not be going back

Horrible experience, I came to collect my order for TooGoodToGo, lady was ignorant and all over the place time frame for collection was 9.00-9.10pm I had to wait till 9.31pm. Before I could collect and the lady said I cannot collect because I didn’t swipe my order after she told me not to when I came at 8:58pm, me and also 5 other groups of customers had this same issues and we were arguing back and forth for over 5 minutes just to collect our food, the lady even tried using my phone to pay for additional meals when I already payed for what I wanted. Not recommended very disappointed.

Loved the food here. Lots of choice at the buffet. Tried a few dishes I'd not had before. Lots of different puddings too. Plenty of space in the restaurant. Worth paying the money for a meal here.

Very expensive for what it is, don't get me wrong the food was nice, staff are very hard working, but for the price I would have expected more option, we went in the evening at 19.30, luckily we had booked in advance as when we arrived there was an hour and a half wait for those who hadn't. Again, very little to offer food wise, no variety, 2 different types of noodles, 2 different types of rice and a few different selections of chicken is all they had to offer, would have been better off and far cheaper to order a Chinese takeaway.
