Called in just after 11pm, and I was totally ignored by the girl behind the counter, so preoccupied with counting the cash in the till. Only after myself and another customer eventually managed to get her attention, I was served. Gave her my order, and when arriving home, I found that the three items I'd asked for (chips, large sausage, and a potato fritter), only the chips and sausage were packed. The chips were cold and soggy. All I can say for this establishment is very substandard food and absolutely terrible service. Would NOT RECOMMEND and I will definitely not be returning.

Friendly staff and quick service. I was a little disappointed with Saturdays fish and chips, to be honest. Chips were cold and really pale, and the fish had no taste to it. Not to the standard it’s been previously. Rest of the gang had battered sausage which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Awful Chinese. Curry tasted like pure salt! Went navl as it ruined all the rice and other dishes. Owner was rude and aggressive. Had to go buy food at the pheonix which is much better quality and friendly. Stay away from this place. Disgusting. Also the chicken balls and spring rolls were white.

Bought a meal £ 21 ,when we dished it up the chicken curry was so salty it was inedible and spoilt the meal ,took trays back and complained ,they called the boss out and he said I should have bought food back ,I returned home and packed food into the cartons and returned the boss then said it wasn't they're fault that the food was salty and still refused refund ,,went to the golden phoenix and their curry was lovely ... WONT be returning to Central very poor service

Great place to have your weekend takeaway. Friendly staff and great tasting food. Have been going there now for a couple of years. Highly recommended.....

Went in to get a portion on fish and chips. Still wondering where the fish is, it was less than half the thickness of any fish I've bought elsewhere, what a rip off. .crafty buggers, didn't realise until I got it home and cut it open... mind you the batter was lovely and lots of it... maybe they need to know its the fish that's the most important ingredient... won't be back again .. you should be ashamed. Tried again 12 months later... Still playing hunt the fish Not good 😐

The Chinese I had from here was absolutely foul! The chicken balls are tougher than my grans toe nails

25 minutes for 2 bags of chips. Don't go here if you want to quickly have something to eat. Takes your money when you order so you have to wait too.

The quality of food is amazing here and the staff are so welcoming! I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a cheeky takeout. The food preparation is super quick and the staff are respectful and always smiling which makes all the difference. Such a good atmosphere! 10/10 😊

Wanted to try our favourite meal. Duck chow mein as friends said good.the duck was dry and inedible.they are in our opinion just reheating yesterday's cooked food.never again.cash only.say no more

Best fish bar and Chinese is Swansea, food is always amazing, so full of flavour and the staff/owners are some of the friendliest people you'll meet.

Hubby and I called here on way home this evening. It will definitely be the last time we come here. Hubby ordered a hot and sour soup - these soups do vary from one Chinese restaurant to another. But this was hotter (spicier) than any Vindaloo I’ve tasted. Unfortunately it was inedible and went straight in the bin! We then tried our mains - what should have been 2 x Special Chop Suey dishes. I’m not sure what it was but it wasn’t a Chop Suey of any kind. It was bright red reminiscent of a sweet and sour sauce, which tbh it probably was. My husband rang the restaurant to say we had the wrong meal but was told ‘it was the way they did it’. Why on earth would they do a Chop Suey like a Sweet and Sour dish? If I ordered chips would they give me a jacket potato and say ‘that’s the way we do it’ ? There are plenty of Chinese restaurants on Woodfield Street can I suggest the owner / chef goes and buys a chop Suey and then tries to cook a similar dish. At least one with some veg in e.g carrots, green beans, bean sprouts and is not bright red.

Just your average chippy/Chinese takeaway. Fish was ok if a little small for the price. Only bonus was it was all wrapped in paper, not plastic. Will go there again if nothing else open.

Central fish bar is a very friendly takeaway the counter staff treat every Costner with respect, the drivers are also courteous on delivering hot food. The food is also excellent I would recommend this shop to anyone I meet. Well done Lilly and your team..

Hello this is lily the owner of central fish bar in morriston. I'm very sorry to John mills who wrote my last review obviously there was a misunderstanding. If you would like to come in im sure we can resolve and try and make your last experience with us a much better one!

Called to central fish bar for a curry , nice friendly staff working there But Deliberately tried to rip me off . When asked about the my charge which was £ 2 shy , Lo and behold she left it on top of the till .not the first time .

Best fish and chip shop in Morriston, lovely and crispy fish with chips and curry sauce! Strongly recommend as they also have so many dishes to choose from!

can't rave about this place enough, would have given more than 5 star's if i could! My girlfriend is currently pregnant and all she wanted was a nice fish and chips. She's 18 weeks today and from 12 weeks we have had fish and chips twice a week, each time from a different place. The reason for going to14 different places, was purely because they were not that good, the majority of them very poor and the rest just average. Finally the fish here hit the spot! A chippy that does both skinless and boneless together, the girlfriend hates fish on the skin since being pregnant! We both had large fish and ordered a large sausage each because when ordering large fish from other places, they have not only been 2 small but not enough to even fill you. Has we had delivery, you can tell they put thought into it, boxing each fish in a separate tray so the batter stays nice and crispy and doesn't get soggy. Food came piping hot and the curry sauce has way more flavour than other chippys, not just your average curry sauce. With this being our 14th try, i finally have a full and happy pregnant girlfriend. Happy wife, happy life as they say! haha Will definitely be returning here by the weekend and for many times to come I hope. Outstanding, fresh fish that really deserves more than i can write in a review.

Ordered food 2 hours later no delivery phoned them and to be honest the lady was very polite told me it was on the way phoned them 20 mins later still no delivery had to cancel never even got to taste it one hungry dissatisfied customer will cary on ordering from wok u like from now on 😞😞😞

The worst Chinese/chip shop i have ever been to! The the chicken fried rice was rancid! It had sandwich fake chicken slices stuck together on the top and receive was all clumpy :( The chips tasted like last a nights ! I will never return EVER

Only though I would give this ago as our regular takeaway was closed , the curry was awful, big lumps of fat watery sauce that did not even taste like curry, my friend had chop suey which was bright orange in colour, both meals went in the bin , waste of money never again

Food was cold and very greasy and the pie wasn't worth having only a spoonful of meat and the rest was pastry bring back the original owner

Telephoned an order through at 6.50 told me 30 mins waiting time, fine ok!! Turned up 30 mins later told me 5mins for my order to be ready. 30 mins later still waiting then to be told they hadn’t even made my food, what a joke this place is definitely gone downhill since I went there last. Woman behind the counter tried to shut me up with some fortune cookies and her excuse was “ to many people sorry” definitely will be staying away from this place. They need to get a grip and remember who they serve before they take your money.

Been going to Central for years and never been disappointed, be it Chinese meal or fish & chips. It's our favourite for either! Tried their vegetable curry and vegetable satay dishes for the first time today and they were delicious.

Took my order then told me chips would be 1minute which turned into 5minutes. Not the most appetizing food.

Ordered a chicken chop suey with boiled rice.Took it home, looking forward to eating it. But when i did start to eat, i wish i hadn't, as the chop suey was more like a not so suey. It was just basically chicken, water chestnut, onion, and bamboo shoots, with a bland tasting red sauce. And the steamed veg bun was rank. Don't know what the hell was in it. It certainly didnt look like veg. It Was cold, and smelt pretty much off putting. Won't be having that again anytime soon. I thought that the chop suey is supposed to have some colour in the way of veg/ peppers, And with a thick broth sauce, with egg. But thats just me... 🤢

Fancied a Chinese, haven't had one for ages, so I ordered, chicken and mushrooms, fried rice, prawn crackers, bbq sauce, food hot when I got home, but very bland in taste, bbq sauce very vinegary, won't be having one for a while.

We used to go regularly for the takeaway. It was quite expensive for the portions compared to others in the area. It's changed hands now and it's the first time I've been here in a while as there's so many other lovely takeaways. I only called in the fish and chips. The food was lovely. Fish was well cooked and tasty and the chips were nice. The staff were friendly. The shop looks like their front room with an armchair and curtains. Would go back.

Absolutely shocking service. Was told 1 hour wait for delivery .. 1 hour 30mins passed and nothing so called up again to be told "it's on it's way it's leaving in 5 minutes, we will give u prawn crackers for inconvenience" 30mins later again .. noo food so 2 hours in total. All they said was it's defiantly on it's way .. we asked to cancel our order and she wouldn't let us then asked our address and then put the phone down on us. 10mins later the delivery guy turns up with our food knowing nothing about what's happened they offered us to pay £15 instead of £22!! We did not take the food as the lady was very rude and we got lied too!

Really friendly helpful staff best curry I tasted. The chips are gorgeous and English food sometimes I have to wait but don't mind as know I'm having quality food.

Very slow service usually and tonight they even completely forgot my order. When challenged why they served the same items to people who placed their order after me they said the order was written underneath and they forgot mine. They then tried to pacify me with some prawn crackers!?! I just wanted my food as my family was waiting after a busy evening not extra food.

I went to this take away today and it was the best I have ever had for a very long time. The curry sauce was excellent, and the meal was fantastic. The customer service was brilliant and everyone was sooo friendly! Strongly recommended!

Waited 25 minutes of my lunch break for curry and chips. The smallest portion ive ever seen. Will never return to this place. Bloody terrible

This chip shop/ Chinese takeaway has been in morriston for years.. it has recently had new owners. Ive stopped in for a quick bite but am yet to try their oriental quisine.. hope its as good as the last owners standard, or if there is any change then preferbably lets hope it will be better.. im sure it will be...

Vast selection of both English and Chinese menu we had Chinese freshly cooked while we waited (not long) very tasty huge portions excellent value for money we will be back.

I heard the shop has been taken over by the new owner. So we ordered some Chinese and chips yesterday. The Chinese food were beautiful and the chips were lovely. We love their curry. The food were amazing, will definitely come again.

We used to get our takeaways from Morriston central frequently but the portions were very small and for what they charge is expensive compared to other places.

I used to order chimes takeaway from here for many years. Having returned to the area I ordered e meals and they were absolutely disgusting. I'm not sure if they were due to close, but the quality of the food was appaling. I won't return to complain as it's pointless with takeaways. I won't be returning, I may also give trading standards a call on Monday. Absolutely appaling.

Used to be good. New owners took over a month ago and new food is overpowered with ginger. This used to be my regular for Chinese take away, not anymore.
