Portion size was poor on the lettuce rolls. Young chow Fried rice wasn’t fried just boiled with very few bits of meat mixed in, and the chicken balls seemed old and over done. Won’t be returning

Got turned away as they said they were fully booked despite the fact that the restaurant was only half full. Couples were sitting at tables meant for six. Abysmal service and was made to not feel welcomed.

food was awful. Soup had no seafood, seafood rice had no seafood, sweet and sour chicken was all vegetables literally 4 tiny pieces of chicken. Ordered from them before and loved it but this was very disappointing.

Delicious food and fast cooking.

Not a very pleasant experience. Egg fried rice, was lacking flavour and taste but the oil or grease was off putting. Sweet and sour chicken balls, thick batter, no taste, bland, stodgy, full of grease when you bite into it and hard to swallow as there was way to much batter. Chow mein noodles, flavourless, you could pour the grease from the side of the bowl before sticking your fork in, disgusting and burnt. Last and for all the chips, yuk, don't know what they done to them but they looked like they were from the bin and reheated, soggy, falling apart and burnt, appalling food. Sweet and sour sauce was like vinegar and the curry sauce had a skin on top about a centimetre thick. Not a very good experience for our first time trying the food. Will not be going back.

After not being able to find salt and pepper chips on the menu we opted for plain. However, we thought we would try our luck and add a comment to see if they can do it for us if it was possible. We were expecting to receive the usual plain chips but they had accommodated our request which we were extremely grateful for. The food was absolutely wonderful, one of the best Chinese takeaways we’ve come across. Couldn’t fault it one bit. Thank you!

We had a great time at the new slow boat. We had spring rolls, crispy seaweed, boiled rice and vegetable curry. As two vegans the staff had a good understanding of what we could and couldn’t eat. They also offered us peanuts for the table as we couldn’t have the prawn crackers. Overall our food was so tasty!

Quite disappointed, compared to how wonderful it used to be, seems more commercialised. Crispy beef wasn't crispy and definitely reheated, chicken in oyster was microwaved, waitress didn't apologise or deny when we mentioned it, just laughed. Tiny amount of food for the price! Well over cooked chicken balls and only 5 in the bag! 3 spring rolls per portion is pathetic! Don’t bother buying the chips unless you want an over cooked toddler portion. Spent nearly £100 before cheeky Tuesday discount which still means I overpaid by a lot of money! Chicken chowmein is drowning in sauce. Not impressed at all and won’t be buying from here again! Buyer beware

Chicken balls were very small but more importantly the chicken was pink and not cooked properly, egg fried was hot at the top and cold at the bottom as if it had been microwaved and was also white like boiled rice and didn’t taste like fried rice at all. Chips were very small and not a good sized portion.

We had a family meal for my birthday 12 of us in total Front of house Vivienne greeted us warmly very friendly, we were comfortably seated with plenty of room. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and the staff were very attentive. Our food arrived quickly and all at the same time considering how many of us there were. Gorgeous food, hot and plenty of it. Nothing was too much trouble they even provided children’s chopsticks for our granddaughter ❤️ This is an honest review Jackie & Vivienne have a lovely family run restaurant and we will continue to visit more & more. We had a great 70th birthday party at the New Slow Boat last night (14 of us). Food and service were excellent and quickly served. Staff were attentive and joined in the spirit of the occasion. Couldn't fault it.

I highly recommend the slow boat Swansea for their Customer service, the quality of their food. You won’t regret going there for a meal.

My husband and I managed to get in without booking even though the restaurant was extremely busy. The staff were so lovely and accommodating and we were seated straight away. Food was really quickly and was not only large in portion size but it was delicious. The staff absolutely lovely and it was a pleasure speaking to them. Felt so welcomed and we had an absolutely amazing time. As busy as they were, they were run off their feet and still ensured we had the most amazing customer service. Nothing was too much trouble. We also saw they had a particularly awkward customer who was being unreasonable for no particular reason.who they dealt with in such an admirable way by ensuring that the customer was happy even with all they were dealing with. Probably one of the nicest and most welcoming restaurants we’ve ever been to and we will definitely be going back. The staff were such lovely and wonderful people and we were so grateful for all they did for us as customers.

We usually always go to the wild swan but as it’s closed we thought we would try this place We ordered a few things they messed up the order from the start the food was inedible I had a gross vile smell and none of the other food was inedible either only thing that was was the prawn crackers absolutely disgusting will never go again and was still charged for this monstrosity

The quality of food was very poor, no taste, who hAs ever heard of crispy beef with no chilli. The special “fried” rice was boiled. I called to complain and was asked to freeze the food and return it in 2 days time. The new slow boat is certainly not like the old one. The person I spoke to was shouting down the phone and insisted that I sent photos of the food to him. Do not order from here- rubbish!!!

The crispy duck was very good, but the rest of the food was fairly bland.

Food was very nice but not a lot of chicken in the sweet and sour chicken and prices are a lot more expensive compared to other places.

Gone down hill orderd late and food tasted omlike left overs,we have been going to 5his restaurant for years and have always raved about it,we pay extra to have takeaway from here as it is not cheap.i don't like to leave a bad review but paying nearly 60 quid for a dried up meal .chicken balls burned,spare ribs seemed like they had been taken off plates 5hat had not been 3aten from 5he restaurant side.prawn dish costing 11 quid was shocking,curry like water , meat space,fried rice just boiled rice with a bit of 5his and 5hat

Absolutely disgusted, that staff that were left in charge have no idea of family meals, I have eaten in this restaurant many times and had a family gathering there, the usual manager was away and it’s gone to pot, the staff have no idea, we were met by a very inexperienced staff and ended having a wonderful meal at the wild swan, losing atleast £200, well I think your stall has cost you a lot of trade n money, hope your manager comes home soon , you were empty and wild swan was full

We last visited here 28 years ago. It is a well known restaurant. However it was very quiet here on a Tuesday evening in January. Great Spring Rolls £4.75, Noodle with Bean Sprout £4.95, Veg Fried Rice £3.95 and delicious Duck in Cantinise Sauce. We were very happy with these. However the Satay Chicken Skewers £6.45 were dry and looked as if they had been re heated. Fair prices and friendly staff but not the quality of food we remember all those years ago.

Awful food. Couldn’t eat the crispy beef as it was chewy and the sauce was horrible and my son had chicken balls which he couldn’t eat. Also sent the wrong sauce with the chicken balls. Biggest waste of money ever.

I have always accepted that this restaurant is more expensive than others. We have our son returning home and assumed 60 pounds worth of food would be enough for three. Portion sizes were less than acceptable, they were tiny. 12 pounds for one dish that had five pieces of beef. It just doesn’t compete with others and is simply unacceptable. We have no way of complaining directly. Such a shame we are now having to make another order.

Delivery was early which was great but we were really disappointed with this meal. The crispy beef was the worst I have ever had. The sauce itself had a nice flavour but the beef wasn’t crispy and was so hard it was inedible. Everything else was just ok. We won’t be ordering again.

Visited 20th September for a family birthday. Lovely welcome by staff. Fantastic menu with lots of tempting dishes. We had 2 starters to share spring rolls and satay chicken which were gorgeous. For mains we had sizzling steak Cantonese, crispy beef mixed meat chow mein and crispy chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce plus sides. One of the best meals we have had out in a long time you wont be disappointed at all. Staff friendly and attentive! We will be back soon

Food was below standard especially for the price. Chicken balls were tiny and overcooked, rice was meant to be a special but it was far from that. Ribs were also over cooked and of poor quality. All in all a very poor Chinese takeaway.

Final meal before spending a few days in the area. The selection of starters was very tasty but the best was the sizzling fillet steak with Cantonese sauce. The beef was was so tender. Excellent service. Not the cheapest but worth every penny.
