The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Meadows / Morningside Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh and Lothian

Family run. Very authentic. Most importantly, great taste. We had the rainbow dumplings of course which is a great way to try the range of dumplings. Also the braised pork belly was tender and flavorful. Great with rice.

This restaurant was massively hyped on social media sites and we were looking forward to the dining experience. Unfortunately the food was bland and unappetising. It was also priced extortionately. Two soft drinks a starter and three mains was 86 pounds! Also did not like the waitress insisting that two mains was 'not enough' (it was) and the fact that there were four of them in such a tiny place. If you are a hipster and want to believe the 'Emperors New Cuisine' then go for it...

The waiters are very friendly! The pancakes and fruits are really delicious, very delicious, and the unexpected surprise is the vegetables, which is really unexpected! The xiaolongbao is also worth trying, it’s full of gravy! On the contrary, the salt and pepper chicken wings were a bit disappointing because they were quite dry! The coconut sponge cake also has an unexpected surprise. I didn’t expect that the effect of adding breast milk would be so good! While dining, I saw quite a few delivery people coming to pick up takeaways. I believe this restaurant has a certain appeal!

Fuimos a Nanyang para almorzar y no estábamos seguros de qué esperar. Un plato principal es suficiente para dos personas, pero pedimos mucho para cinco, pensando que el tamaño de las porciones sería pequeño. Sin embargo, no pudimos terminar todo. La comida era fantástica! El plato de fideos de arroz estaba bien sazonado, el nasi goreng era increíble, y el arroz frito con huevo y arroz de coco con pollo al curry eran absolutamente deliciosos. Probamos algunos entrantes, que no fueron muy impresionantes, pero las sopas — sopa wonton y Tom Kha o Tom Yum — fueron increíbles. Absolute shocking - no food, no call, left it too late for other options.... If you cannot get a simple dinner delivered don't offer the service!!! Unbelievable -10 stars for sure.... Worse than your rugby!!!

A small bakery near Tollcross and The Meadows which sells freshly baked buns and cakes. A wide variety of Chinese buns with different fillings and toppings. Also do fruit cakes and other desserts at a reasonable price. Owner is polite and helpful.

Szechuan shredded beef was ok but could've done with more spice. Overall: expensive for what we ordered. Disappointed that our request for a bag of gratis prawn crackers was refused even though we spent nearly £70. Odd when most other takeaways would make that offer as a minimum. Nothing special.
